Belkin's Advanced Secure DVI-I KVM Switch offers superior security and data protection for government agencies by providing true data path isolation between systems and networks. It is fully compatible with legacy and new government systems and exceeds NIAP security requirements. Using uni-directional data paths with optical diodes, it prevents peripherals from being used to leak information from one computer system to another. Additional security is provided through its end-to-end tamper-proof system that prevents physical tampering, and its intuitive user interface reduces user-switching errors by providing clear identification.
True Data Path Isolation for Data Protection Belkin’s Advanced Secure Digital (DVI-I) KVM Switches prevent data breach with true data path isolation - purposefully engineered to provide single, unbuffered, dedicated processors for each KVM peripheral port.
End-to-End Tamper-proof System Belkin’s Advanced Secure Digital (DVI-I) KVM Switches employ End-to-End Tamper-proof System to guarantee that your device remains tamper-free throughout the manufacturing and delivery process. The uni-body chassis of the KVM switch is designed to reduce entry points; serialized holographic FIPS compliant labels provide visual indication and prevention of external tampering; and electronic sensors render the KVM inoperable if the chassis is opened.
Peripheral Protection Belkin’s Advanced Secure Digital (DVI-I) KVM Switches eliminate data leaks with hardware-controlled unidirectional data flow that allows devices, such as a keyboard or mouse, to communicate in only one direction, keeping them from receiving data from the computer. Securely connect a wide variety of peripheral devices— including audio equipment and large high-resolution displays—and switch quickly and safely between multiple PCs and networks with a single keyboard, monitor, mouse, and smart-card reader, all while exceeding NIAP security requirements.
Enhanced Usability Switch between systems without terminating your session using intelligent CAC switching with BELKIN F1DN104C. Reduce user error with customizable color coding that labels ports associated with each network. The port button also illuminates to indicate which computer the console is controlling.
Superior Compatibility Expect the best compatibility out-of-the-gate with a Secure KVM solution that's designed and vigorously tested to work seamlessly with common systems and peripherals used by the defense and intelligence community.
Multi-platform support Belkin's Advanced Secure DVI-I KVM Switch supports cross-platform systems, including DVI-D, DVI-I, VGA video interface technologies with Belkin Smart Cables (smart cables not included).
This review is from: BELKIN F1DN104C Secure OmniView KVM Switch
Pros: Supports CAC and token readers DVI-I support Comes with great labels/color coding
Cons: No rackmount option The buttons work well, but feel a bit cheap
Other Thoughts: I've tried several other secure KVMs that claim to have CAC support, but they all fell short on compatability. The Belkin F1DN104C supported all our different readers out-of-the-box.
The DVI-I ports provide versatility to connect any PC or server.
The labels it comes with come in handy to identify each port, and the color coding is a nice feature.
The buttons work well, but feel a little cheap. The active port button lights up, but it can be difficult to tell in a well-lit room.
There is a switch next to each button to enable/disable the CAC reader for that port, but they seem unnecessary since they are user-accessible.
I wish they had molded cables available for this KVM. They do have some with a single USB, but since we use the CAC reader an additional USB cable is required. If they had a molded KVM cable with two USB connections it would be awesome.
Overall it's a great KVM that I would recommend over Avocent or BlackBox. Minus one star for the cheap-feel buttons and lack of a molded cable.
