5 out of 5 eggsWorks Flawlessly

Pros: It has worked flawlessly since i bought it 02/23/2007

Cons: The only issue with it is that it slides around on desktop.

Other Thoughts: Fixed the sliding issue with velcro!

4 out of 5 eggsStill functioning 3+ yrs/minor ghosting

Pros: Activated by hotkey or by the switch on device. Audio can be routed separately. Unit is not brick-powered (might be a con for some).

Cons: If you prefer using the switch on the device (which I do), all the cables that connect to it make it difficult, if not impossible, to keep your desk clutter-free. Using a different resolution on one computer + hotkey will cause you some grief when switching (display will 'fade out'). Using the switch is recommended. The price for this has only dropped by $2 since purchased back in July 2007.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this from another online competitor a little over 3 years ago. I needed a simple KVM that supported audio, and this has fit the bill quite nicely. The only problem I've ever had is a slight ghosting that just recently cropped up. Through simple troubleshooting, I determined that one video port on the device is failing. Not bad yet, but it is noticeable viewing text. I'll probably have to replace it within the next 4-6 months. Would I buy another? Probably, but I'll compare newer units available now. I just wish that DVI KVM's weren't so $#@!% expensive.

Hardware (then/now):
Windows XP Pro/WIN7
MAG 19" monitor/Acer AL2216W
MSI 648MaxL mobo/Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3L
GeForce 6200 video/Asus EN8400GS

2nd rig (unchanged since built about 3 years ago except for O/S):
Linux Mint 10
MSI 661FM-L
GeForce 6200 video

1 out of 5 eggsSwitch, what Switch?

Pros: Some models have detatched cables.

Cons: All of the KVM's in the office failed. Started with the need to use two mice. The first set performed longer than the second set. Switched brands. DOA. Network guy bought a third brand. DOA as well. These devices must come from the same foreign factory. 100% failure in less than 90 days.

Other Thoughts: Tried the USB version fo D-Link. Needed a second mouse as well. No independent power supply may be the problem. Did not return. Removed from inventory. Staff with multiple comuters will have to swap plugs until I find a reliable brand.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very easy to setup
Works with xbox 360 + PC

Cons: Included VGA cables were both missing 1 pin on each side, which I assume is the pin that information about the monitor is transferred on.
When using this KVM after a reboot I had to force my monitor into its standard resolution as it was now being detected as a generic monitor.

Other Thoughts: To use this with the xbox 360, I plugged one of the keyboard/mouse ps/2 plugs into my machine, and on the other cord(The one connecting the vga from the xbox to the kvm) I plugged into the front of the kvm to power it.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent KVM for the price

Pros: For the price it is a decent KVM even with audio support.

Cons: There are times when I have noticed reduced video quality when using this switch, it is not really bad but it is noticeable.

Other Thoughts: Mine likes to freak out when one of the machines go down and the mouse is rendered completely useless on the other machine.
