5 out of 5 eggsWorks like you want, has power supply

Pros: Works with all the 2.0 and 3.0 devices I've thrown at it.
Good for breaking out the measly one or two 3.0 ports your computer comes with.
Includes a power brick and a 3.0 A->B cable, which is everything you need
Lights indicating when a port is plugged in is a nice touch

Cons: Cords for power brick and included usb 3.0 cable are a little on the short side.
Ports are a little stiff when inserting or removing devices, but I get the idea that all usb 3.0 ports are like that.

Other Thoughts: Used this alongside a usb 3.0 card to give my dad an upgrade. He loves it. Uses it for his camera, flash drives, and to charge his various bike accessories. (GPS, lights, whatnot)

1 out of 5 eggsInconsistent at best

Pros: When it works it is consistent with 3.0 Speeds. Wprks fine with all 2.0 devices.

Cons: This works ok with a USB 3.0 Flash Drive on my ASUS Formula IV connected to the USB 3.0 ports built in. When I try to use it with my older ASUS M3a79-t deluxe and a PCIE-1x USB 3.0 card it will not work with 3.0 devices. It usually will detect a HDD or thumb drive but it will immediately drop the connection. I have a 3TB Drive and a 3.0 extension cable connected to the PCIE USB 3.0 card and all works as expected, but as soon as I add the HUB in between any 3.0 divice and the PCIE Card 3.0 devices stop working. Results are the same with or without external power source.

Other Thoughts: Has no issues with USB 2.0

2 out of 5 eggsaffordable design average performance

Pros: Design is compact and doesn't offend the eyes.

Cons: Power cable is only 3ft. Need longer power cable. At least 5 ft. Inconsistent performance issue, see "Other Thoughts"

Other Thoughts: I bought this unit back in Sept 05, 2012. In my first review I gave it a 4-star. However, after some usage, I realize it doesn't merit the 4-star. On many occasions, the hub fail to register usb device so I had to plugin to another port. At time copying large files with programs such as Teracopy or Microsoft Richcopy, copying process stall or result in file errors. In such instance, the issue is resolved when I revert to using USB 2.0 port on my computer. Perhaps USB 3.0 drivers haven't properly matured or my motherboard was an early adopter of USB 3.0, the device does NOT work consistently. When it does, the fast transfer speed of USB 3 is greatly noticeable. Caveat emptor!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Hub

Pros: Fast, stylish, compact

Will never give you up or let you down

Doesnt mind when you call it names

Its hot seeing all those plugs inside one little box...I didnt think it would take it, but it did.

Cons: Short power cord

If you run around it'll hurt you

Responds best to the name; "Cassandra"

Other Thoughts: At first I wanted to save the world, but then I realized I couldnt so I bought this instead.

Its a great hub that powers all 4 of my external porndrives, doesnt miss a beat, I was watching some DP one minute and had a craving for some whips the next and boom it was open, I was pretty impressed. NO more switching USB ports for this guy!

I will say that the power cord is pretty short I was unable to jump rope with it, but I was able to choke myself while I touch myself furiously.

Other than that its been good times with Cassandra...

5 out of 5 eggsGood Product

Pros: Works as intended. Delivers USB 3.0 speeds. Reliable.

Cons: Very short USB cable.

Other Thoughts: This is the 3rd USB 3.0 extension that I purchased. The first 2, a USB 3.0 extension cable and a different USB 3.0 hub, were purchased and returned from a local brick and mortar store. They worked, but not at 3.0 speeds. Both were no faster than 2.0. I ordered this hub from Newegg and have been very happy with it. It worked right out of the box, and provides blazing USB 3.0 speeds. The short USB cable prevents me from placing it where I would prefer, but I was able to come up with an acceptable alternative location for it.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: None

Cons: 1.) Doesn't work. Not recognized by Windows 7 with USB 3.0 drivers installed.
2.) NewEgg charged almost $11 for return shipping for the RMA. I could have sent it for less.

Other Thoughts: After reading the reviews, it seemed most people were satisfied and those that weren't probably didn't have the proper drivers installed. Not so. Also, NewEgg charging for return shipping was low.

3 out of 5 eggsWorked Fine For 2 Weeks

Pros: Worked fine for 3 weeks and then it died. Had plenty of power for self-powered USB hard drives.

Cons: Died after 3 weeks. Odd failure - would no longer work at all when powered by the supplied A/C adapter. In fact, none of my other USB 3.0 ports would work either, until I unplugged this hub's A/C adapter. It was like the A/C adapter was causing it to short-out. Still worked minimally if I unplugged the A/C adapter. However, it didn't have enough power that way for a USB hard drive to run plugged into it. Hub sent back to Newegg for RMA.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected

Pros: Works as expected. No problems with any USB2 devices that I have tried. Has plenty of power to charge my iPad 2. Doubled the speed of my USB 3 flash drives and also my USB 3 external drives as expected. Well packaged. Arrived as expected.

Cons: A little on the expensive side. Seems to run hot. You will want to make sure that you give it plenty of room whereever you put it. As seems to be usual these days it has too much packaging so have to take .25 of a star away for that. .5 star for running hot and .25 star for being on the expensive side.

Other Thoughts: Highly recommend this device if you are in the market for a reliable USB 3 hub.
