IOGEAR GUH285 4-Port USB Hub

Pros: NONE

Cons: 3 out of 6 flaked out within 2 months of use at our office. Had to rewire the USB devices back to the PCs. Never again with this maker.

Pros: Nice compact design. Portable. It gives you 3 extra ports, since you give up 1 to plug the unit into.

Cons: Convenience of portability makes the wire connector fragile. I am being careful not to stress it at all.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this on a gamble after reading the posts on heating and longevity problems. Based on those, I am handling it very carefully to assure that nothing I do would be a cause for failure. Currently running a DisplayPort adapter and Unified Wireless Kbd/Mouse through it. Some of the heating/longevity complaints go back at least 3 years - which is MORE than enough time for a company to fix any issues. If it hasn't, that would be a Very Bad Sign....

Pros: Great little 4 port hub. Not much to say its cheap, and it works. Does what I need it to do, (give me 4 extra usb ports) I am able to power my printer, external HDD, cell phone charger, and ipod. It is small enough that it can fit in my pocket.

Cons: They could have spaced the ports a little further apart, but it does not effect the functionality of the device. The usb cable the it comes with does not feel that sturdy.

Pros: Compact.

Cons: Connection jacks are very loose and wobbly...I'm using it for my wireless mouse and keyboard only...after two weeks this unit MELTED!

Other Thoughts: I only paid $7 bucks for this...not worth the hassle of returning or refunding. But I will forward a note to Newegg advising them to pull this FIRE HAZARD from the shelves. Read the other reviews...almost all of them complain of an overheating issue.
Since I'm shitcanning this unit, I took it apart and found that it was an IC chip that overheated.
I'll buy another brand, after I read the reviews more carefully.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Pros: the best thing since sliced bread. I have and older laptop with only 2 usb ports but now i have 5 devices pluged up to my laptop all at the same time.

Cons: none

Pros: Has 4 USB ports.
Does exactly what it I needed it for.

Cons: Flimsy. The connector pulls out of the housing easily, even under its own weight (mine is dangling off the side of a laptop).

Pros: Good design.

Cons: Poor electronics, works for about 1 month.

Other Thoughts: My IOGear 4 port usb hub died just after I could return it to the store. Great, shouldn't have been a cheap ace and bought a better product from the get go.

Pros: Works as expected. Port at the end for items which would block adjacent ports.

Pros: When working, deliver signals from USB devices to computer.

Cons: I bought five for my company. As of two months in, two of them have failed.

Other Thoughts: I probably should have bought a slightly pricier model.

Pros: Works as it is supposed to. Cheap. Basically if you want more usb ports the device works great. I use it daily sense my laptop only has 2 usb ports. I use this to plug my expernal keyboard and mouse to when I have the laptop hooked up to my monitor.
