5 out of 5 eggsYep it works

Pros: Ez to hookup
It works, :-)
Win 7 and win Xp systems
Wireless keyboard, wired mouse

Cons: Note the instructions , ref. where the mouse and keyboard are connected
Will not work with win xp if wrong, it will not work, check instructions
Short wires, check your CPU location b4 you purchase.

Other Thoughts: All. Smiles!

5 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: It works, haven't had any problems with it

Cons: See other thoughts

Other Thoughts: The cord for the switch is VERY long, if you are sitting far away from you systems this would be a pro. If you sit close and have both machines sitting right next to each other, it's kind of a con.

4 out of 5 eggsNice switch but image quality so-so

Pros: Really nice little switch. not very difficult to set up and was plug and play. everything worked flawlessly on first try. seems well built, looks good on desk, nice design. my logitech m510 wireless mouse and logitech k360 wireless keyboard work flawlessly on first boot. no lag what-so-ever. little desktop switch is great, only takes about two seconds to switch between computers.

Cons: sound from one of the systems (left side cable or #1 setup) seems to have a lower sound volume. not a huge deal but requires manually adjusting the volume.

my biggest issue though is the picture quality. its not terrible but its definitely noticeably fuzzy after coming from a dvi setup. its really a bit irritating if you relish nice sharp text and graphics.

if image clarity is paramount i'd suggest biting the bullet and trying the more expensive dvi switch which is what i'm ordering right now.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks very well

Pros: Easy to set up
Convenient - lighted indicator on top, handy when the computers are in a dark cabinet
External selector switch is on a separate wire, no need to worry about switching computers with the keyboard which has proved to be a problem in the past. The wire is long enough that you can place it anywhere it's convenient.

Cons: 'Limited' life span of 2½ years.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this in 2011 and it has worked perfectly until last week (2½ years). Keyboard, mouse, and monitor all stopped working within a few days of each other. Once I plugged those things directly into the computer, everything was fine again, so I knew it was time for a new switch. With electronic gadgets being what they are today, I figured 2½ years was an average life span for something like this. For me, it's worth the price of buying another one, so I will be replacing mine with the same model.

5 out of 5 eggsRecommended

Pros: Wired Switch. Easy setup, no s/w to install. Works!
Tired of trying to remember where the Home, PageUp, Del keys are on two different keyboards? Try this product!

Cons: One of my computers is my Dell Latitude work laptop, which has the VGA out on the left side and only one other USB port on that side. The two USB cables for the client keyboard & mouse emerge from the molded cable at the VGA connector, so the second USB cable does not reach over to the other side of my laptop where the only other USB ports are. I had to use a ~12in. USB extension cable to reach.

Other Thoughts: Using with wireless Logitech Illuminated Keyboard K800 - Just plug the nano-receiver into the KVM unit on the console side.
Inconvenient to plug up the laptop to the KVM, slide it into its niche on my desktop under the monitor, and then find that the laptop was in sleep mode and unresponsive. I have all the 'Wake on LAN' setting s turned off, so it might wake from the KVM connections when I try that...

4 out of 5 eggsJust what I needed

Pros: Easy operation, simple hookup, handles wireless devices, all cables included

Cons: Slow switching

Other Thoughts: Although there is quite a pause when switching between computers (5 seconds maybe?) the switch is working flawlessly with both XP Pro and 8 Pro machines. Worked great with my Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse combo leaving me an extra USB 2 port on the device. Tip: start each machine independently with the other turned off when doing initial setup and make sure all drivers load. Even XP loaded drivers automatically with no issues.

5 out of 5 eggsslick!

Pros: Very easy to switch PC's once you do it a few times and all components recognize the other components. Works with Win7 and Win8.

Cons: 1-2 second delay when switching, and it takes a few extra seconds when a laptop is waking up from sleep.

Other Thoughts: I have not tried the audio feature yet.

It took a few times before I figured out the tricks to these KVM's (my guess it's all of them, not just this one). Plug it into a powered USB port (the kind that maintain power even when the PC is off). If a PC/laptop is sleeping, switch the KVM to it before waking it up, so it sees the monitor and uses the correct video settings (my laptop would default to standard VGA if I woke it up before switching - putting it back to sleep and re-waking fixed it). Not all keyboards work with this KVM (I think it's not this switch as much as the cheap keyboard I tried). An older Dell works fine with this one, and a xGene mini keyboard works fine with a similar model I have without audio, but an el cheapo Elvision did not.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Two PC Switch

Pros: Fast switching, USB doesn't hang keyboard or mouse

Cons: Cables are too short even though they are 6 feet long

Other Thoughts: It would be nice if IOGEAR sold a version of the two port or 4 port USB switches that had interchangeable VGA and DVI cables at the same price point. I guess they have to make money some way!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -Inexpensive
-Button switch
-USB
-VGA?

Cons: -Not DVI?

Other Thoughts: Been using this to switch between my main computer and a computer I'm fixing. Having VGA is nice since it's more compatible overall but at this point most things I'm working on are new enough to have DVI so I usually just have an adapter on it.
