4 out of 5 eggsWorks most of the time.

Pros: + Cheap compared to other KVM switches.
+ Works with any PS/2 compatible desktop/laptop.
+ Comes with SEVERAL cables, they seem to be high-quality.
+ Does not need external power, runs off the VGA and PS/2 inputs.

Cons: - Unable to power my IBM model M. Some older mechanical keyboards draw more power, and the KVM switch is not drawing enough to power the keyboard. Most other keyboard work fine.

Other Thoughts: For a budget KVM switch, it works great. Look for a different solution if you plan to use older mechanical keyboards.

5 out of 5 eggsKEEPS ON TICKING...

Pros: A great KVM switch. Had it for years and needed a replacement.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Bought it again after my old one died...because a monitor fell on it :/

5 out of 5 eggsbest yet

Pros: I've got 3 other KVM switches - 2 iogear and 1 startech.
They work some of the time,
This switch works every time all the time.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent KVM Switch

Pros: Computers can detect the mouse and keyboard even if the switch is set to another computer -- most KVM switches don't do that!

Hotkeys, and they are NOT software-controlled despite what one review states -- you can switch at any time as long as any PC is turned on.

No noticable loss in video quality, and the keyboard and mouse work perfectly for gaming.

Works with any OS or computer, including laptops, despite what some other reviews say (How would it even know what OS or kind of computer you're using?) I even have it hooked up to a very old machine running MS-DOS 6.22, and it works perfectly.

Bus-powered -- it receives power from any PS/2 connector.

Audio support

Cheap

Cons: PS/2 port cutouts are too small -- my keyboard's connector would not fit properly and the connection was wonky at best. I removed the front piece from the unit by taking it apart, and it then worked perfectly because the keyboard could plug in all the way.

Cables come out from all sides of the unit, but because of the hotkeys, you don't really need to make the device accessible.

Does not work with passive USB to PS/2 adaptors, but (decent) active ones should work.

KVM cables are non-standard with the PS/2 signals carried on unused VGA pins (only on the switch's side). This would only be a problem if you need to replace the cables at any time, as standard ones will not work. Just keep the enclosed cables in good condition, and you should be fine. If you need longer cables, standard KVM extension cables will work.

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend this switch.

4 out of 5 eggsThree Years, Knock on Wood

Pros: Inexpensive. Complete with proprietary cables. Has been in use for over three years. Audio switching is a nice convenience.

Cons: Degrades analog video somewhat. More noticeable on high resolution (1280 x 1024). Less noticeable on CRT monitors.

Other Thoughts: Occasionally, it would lock up and not respond to commands. A simple power down was sufficient to clear it. But since it was connected to FOUR computers, all had to be powered down (or disconnected) to reboot.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked for a year or so, then done

Pros: Simple setup, small, performed as expected for a year or so

Cons: Randomly "blanks" out - makes a beeping noise, and the video on the attached screen goes blank for 10-15 seconds at a time, several times a day. Randomly "blanks" out the keyboard and mouse as well. Contacted support and received little assistance.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: It works and works well. Just follow the instructions and so far not miss yet. Best of all the time delay is generous so even if you hestitate for some reason on the hot key sequence, it will usually be waiting for you. The sound switching works and the sound is as clear as unswitched.

Cons: The only one is the usual; the cables are attached on all 4 sides making it impossible to neatly put it anywhere!

Other Thoughts: I just stuck it on the side of the desk with gorilla velcro! Fortunately the hot keys work so well that I have not had to actually access the switch unit so I could have dumped in the floor behind one of the PCs. I am using this on PCs from an old AMD K6-400, two Athlon XPs and a Core2 Duo.

3 out of 5 eggs20 months - then fail

Pros: Inexpensive, complete, and fit my setup

Cons: Occasionally required power off to reset it, when it locked up

Other Thoughts: Modern Electronics don't seem to last. But operating 24/7 may be the cause.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: So far it's working perfectly.

Cons: None as yet.

Other Thoughts: Had it less than a week. Really too early to see how it holds up.

5 out of 5 eggsworks great

Pros: This KVM switch works great, and it was the cheapest one I could find! I have 4+ machines that I will rotate through for various tasks and this allows me to work with them all. win* & *nix

Cons: all the wires can get a bit.... tangly..., but other than that, none

Other Thoughts: I used this at home and not in a commercial environment, this may not hold up to a more demanding atmosphere.
