3 out of 5 eggsWorks, sort of...

Pros: When it works, it works fine. The hot-key channel changing feature is excellent and the plug-n-play attributes of USB connectivity is a great time saver.

Cons: Within six months of purchasing this nifty unit, I started having to unplug ALL cables to reset the device. Some computers that are connected (and working with this KVM) that need to be rebooted are not recognized by this unit when they reboot. Once the KVM is reset, then the mouse and keyboard work. The mouse and keyboard may or may not work tomorrow on the channels that worked today, so a daily reset will have to be done. The connected computers are not on a power-saving profile and do not shut down , hibernate or sleep overnight. I have replaced ALL cables and the mouse and keyboard--the problem exists. What is Linkskey's response? Never heard from them, and the last email for support went out over a year ago. NOT a word from them.

Other Thoughts: Linkskey tech support NEVER responded to the emails that I sent. I cannot and WILL NOT recommend this company's products, based on this one bad unit.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product - very satisfied

Pros: Able to use on screen controls and assign names to the servers make them easier to select and manage. Support high resolution.

Enhanced PS/2 mouse reset hotkeys for non-PnP OS is a blessing.

Very decent product at a reasonable price.

Cons: Very poor shipment packaging by Newegg. The product arrived in its own box without any outer shipping protection. Not even a tape to seal off lid. The box was wide open upon arrival via UPS.

Other Thoughts: This product has been great for all my customers as I manage sever stations for numerous companies as a contract computer technician.

Recently I had to call Linkskey for minor product inquiry and was greeted by friendly and knowledgeable technical support.

1 out of 5 eggsDo Not Buy

Pros: Nada.

Cons: 1) First unit I ordered caught on fire, thankfully it was on my desk and not in the Server Room

2) Second unit I received (replacement) ended up dying after 3 months.

Other Thoughts: Thought this would be an affordable option for a server room KVM switch. Shoddy craftsmanship, horrible components, terrible reliability. I've seen better electronic reliability out of a $20 action figure. I don't even want to contact the manufacturer for a return, because frankly I don't want another juvenile piece of technology from this company.

Newegg, you still rock.
