1 out of 5 eggsVery disappointed

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: lasted for about two weeks before I had problems with it

Other Thoughts: I have owned TrendNet KVM's prior and been very happy with them. This one I have hooked up to two computers... out of the blue both both of them have said that the device is not recognized any longer.. I tried installing the utility, rebooted and same result.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

Please try power cycling the unit by disconnecting both sets of KVM’s at the same time so that the device loses power. If you continue to experience this issue after a power cycle email adrian@trendnet.com and we will have a support representative assist you with warranty services. Please include a link to this review.

Adrian

4 out of 5 eggsWorks as stated

Pros: It works as stated, it's very cost effective way to control two PCs with one set of monitor, keyboard, and mice.

Cons: Additional USB port is needed for each monitor connection.

5 out of 5 eggsFun Fun

Pros: One Monitor/Keyboard/Mouse for two computers at the press of a button!! I had limited desk space and two PC's with different operating systems. This was an great buy.

Cons: It has VGA plugs only. I had a video card that didn't have VGA and had to go hunt down a VGA/DVI adapter.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking Great Right Out of the Box

Pros: Plugged everything in, powered up the computers, and it's been working with heavy daily usage without so much as a hiccup. Works with wireless mouse/keyboard (Logitech).

Cons: None.

1 out of 5 eggsSpoiled by a better one

Pros: Low price

Cons: Absurdly short cords
Gives monitor green tint
No audio connection

Other Thoughts: My previous KVM switch had one set of cords die, so could only use with one PC. I thought I'd save money and replace with this one. You always get what you pay for. The cords on the TrendNet are so short as to be unusable, there's no audio connection (which I had on the old one and assumed came standard), and my monitor turned a sickly green on hookup. I returned it immediately and just re-ordered from the site I used previously, and couldn't be happier.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback. If you were getting a green tint on both PC’s connected to the KVM it most likely was a hardware issue with the KVM. The KVM has 4 ft. cables and does not support audio. We try to list these within the device specifications to prevent any confusion. We do carry models with audio support, TK-209K for example. There is no standard feature set but we do carry a variety of models to fit most needs. We will look into improving the specifications to avoid any future confusion regarding cable lengths and feature set.

Thank you,

Adrian

4 out of 5 eggsA Great KVM

Pros: This KVM was quick to setup between a windows 7 machine and with a Windows 10 Preview machine. The Win10 machine almost immediately recognized it.

Double-tapping my scroll lock toggles the switch! Neat!

Cons: My machines may be to blame, but I find myself waiting at least 8 to 10 seconds for every switch.

Other Thoughts: The wires were a little short for my setup, fortunately I had an extension cable.

I really wish they had an HDMI model.

I was able to snag this KVM for ~18.00

5 out of 5 eggsWorks nicly

Pros: Works as its supposed to, give XP a while to recognize the device.
With XP or Vista you may have to use a direct plugged in Keyboard and mouse to log into system for the drivers to configure the KVM USB ports. Windows 7 has no issues but XP takes a little time and it you have a password it might not let you type with USB without logging in with another direct keyboard.

Cons: Manual is nonexistent.

Other Thoughts: You switch between computers with caps lock key press it twice to switch. They seem to leave this off of package.
