4 out of 5 eggsNice features

Pros: Daisy-chain ability, usb or ps/2 keyboard and mouse. Programmable OSD

Cons: not the best quality workmanship. purchased 3 units had issues being able to daisy chain two of them. One was a previous version that didn't like working with different firmware. The second seemed to have a short or loose connection in the daisy chain port because would start to loose connection until i put pressure on the cable.

Other Thoughts: Trendnet was pretty quick at cross-shipping a replacement both times. Would be nice though if quality control was a little better.
Also even though kvm cables only have usb you can still use ps/2 keyboard and mouse as long the keyboard and mouse will work normally with a ps/2 to usb adapter (not all do and if they didnt originally come with one they usually dont ) but most i have used do. But seriously who uses ps/2 anymore? Better off just getting usb keyboard and mouse.

2 out of 5 eggsWorkmanship and reliability is horrible

Pros: Cabling is convenient. Supports 1920x1200 resolution. Can suppress beep and Title bar.
When it works video resolution is fine..

Cons: Must use external power supply . (I.E. not powered from USB connections)
Poor reliability and workmanship
PS/2 Connectivity is only for Keyboard/Mouse. PC connections are USB only.
Needs external reset switch.
No easy way to select a port via hot key.

Other Thoughts: This is my second unit. I paid more money to get the TK-804R due to the two favourable reviews. Boy I was mistaken. The first unit the indicators and push buttons were inoperable out of the box.
This unit "Locks up" every night , necessitating remove/replace external power supply connections. Sometimes the mouse light goes out on my Microsoft Red Eye mouse, requiring me to remove/replace mouse connection.
The unit also "Locks UP" several times during the day the "01" Bank Select display goes crazy again requiring power to be interrupted.
Also , despite what the manual says, you cannot directly select a port via hot key. The only way I have been able to get it to work is to bring up the menu, scroll to the port and select it. This is at least a six key sequence..

5 out of 5 eggsEasy!

Pros: Daisychained 3 of these to replace aging Belkins. Plugged in everything (XP, W2K3, W2K, Unix, Linux, Vista) and all responded immediately via USB.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: buy it!

5 out of 5 eggsNice switch for a first timer

Pros: This is the first switch I have worked with before and I bought it because of the USB... dunno why there isn't a switch out there that supports USB + DVI + Dual Head + Affordable. Anyway, I like it! The OSD is easy to use, hotkeys are great, I like the stackable feature (though I am not stacking right now), and that it is hot pluggable, and has screen lockout - all great features!!! The proprietary cables are nice too because it consolidates.

Cons: I noticed that when I have screen locking on, I've got it set to timeout after 15 minutes. It only seems to recognize keyboard input to recycle the timer. When I am browsing with the mouse for 15 minutes with no typing, the password box pops up and I am locked until I have to type in a password. No big deal for me though.

Other Thoughts: Will buy another one of these when I get more computers to hook up to it :)
