Pros: It works and it offers 2 extra USB ports for devices to be shared.

The USB ports are self powered so no need for the power cord if just sharing kb and mouse.

Cons: Cheaply made and waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy OVER-PRICED !!!!!!!! There is no way I would spend more than $50 for this product.

For $90 or more I expect a much higher level of quality.

Other Thoughts: I have had no issues with this KVM. I have used it with Intel and AMD PCs about 8 years old to brand new. I was lucky enough to have bought it long ago when it was on sale and a rebate was offered so my purchase price was rock bottom.

My favorite way to use it currently is to just use the USB plugs to share a keyboard and mouse between 2 PCs. I don't share the audio or video since I need to view both simultaneously. I like that I can either use the button on the KVM to switch or use their tiny utility and hotkey switch with ease.

Pros: DV-I, DV-D compliant. Low price for DV-I, usb KVM.

Cons: Issues with poor sound quality (hum/hiss/static, the full range and may have something to do with not having an independent audio cable) and intermittent video loss/ flickering.
Doesn't automatically switch to other computer when powering one of them down.

Other Thoughts: I contacted Trendnet and to say the least the service was poor. They really need to take a lesson from Newegg when it comes to service. Was told to try a different monitor (well I only have one) otherwise take it to the vendor and ask them to test it. I was met with disbelief when I told them the audio was poor. But, there's a happy ending. I didn't buy this from Newegg but I did sell it online and I bought a replacement (iogear) from Newegg and am happy now. Lesson is...always buy from Newegg.

Pros: DVI and usb connections.

Cons: Video would drop out (screen goes black) when switch vibrated (was placed on same shelf as sub-woofer). Also the audio had hum/static. There's always a chance a defective product can come down the line but the problem that did me in was Trendnet's customer service. It was horrific with flat denials that neither problem could be possible. Strange how I don't have static or video loss with the switch not connected. Still fighting with Trendnet.

Other Thoughts: Do not let this review deter you from NewEgg. I purchased this elsewhere and the review is simply a reflection on the quality of the product and the quality of Trendnet's customer service. Newegg has never been anything but good to me.

Hopefully you get a working unit but if not, good luck dealing with Trendnet.

Pros: It successfully switched monitors and sound between a Mac Mini and a Windows 7 64 system.

Cons: The hardware has a very cheap feel to it. Tried using this with a Windows 7 64 system and a Mac Mini. Couldn't get the windows 7 system to recognize any USB input, and the Mac only recognized 1 USB device at a time. Also, it annoyingly uses a DVI-I cable instead of DVI-D (which works with all other DVI formats), so I had to go hunt for a DVI converter for my Mac. RMAed and got the ATEN CS62DU which has worked almost flawlessly out of the box for almost the same price.

Pros: Easy setup and simple to operate

Cons: Interfered with my Linksys wireless router, so I increased the separation to 4 feet between the two devices.

Pros: There are very few cables you have to hide. Use of your keyboard or the button on the unit to switch is a great feature, however....

Cons: Be careful which computer you start up first - start the higher resolution computer first or it could screw up your resolution on it. Sometimes while sitting idle, the keyboard and mouse will loose their connection and not funtion so you have to restart your computer with a spare mouse that you plug into an open usb port.

Other Thoughts: Maybe I just have a lemon, but I am very frustrated with it so I would keep shopping.

Pros: Works with a G19 keyboard and mx518 mouse

Cons: This KVM switch wrecks audio. As soon as the DVI cable from my computer is connected to the KVM switch audio starts to stutter. I thought it might be a problem with the provided DVI cable so I swapped that out with one of my own, but the problem persists. I tried completely bypassing the built in audio connection on the KVM, but that doesn't help either. I plugged a USB headphone set directly into my computer, but any audio going to the headphones also stutters. I even tried switching to the onboard sound on my motherboard thinking maybe my sound card (audigy 2) just doesn't work with this switch, but that didn't fix the stuttering either. The only way I found to fix the problem is by unplugging the DVI cable from my computer. So basically you can have either sound or video with this switch, but not both.

Other Thoughts: don't even think about buying this switch if you need audio.

Pros: Works out-of-the-box with no configuration.

Has powered USB 2.0 ports so high-end peripherals will work without trouble.

Cons: Introduces an unacceptable amount of latency, especially in regards to audio. My headphones are connected directly to my primary PC (bypassing this KVM completely) and as long as my monitor is displaying the output from that PC, the audio pops and crackles horribly. As soon as I press the KVM button to send input/output to the secondary PC, the audio from the first PC is perfect. Since this happens regardless of whether my headphones are connected to the KVM or not, I have to conclude that it's the DVI cable that connects the KVM to each PC that's at fault.

LED that indicates which PC is currently active is very big and very bright, which may prove annoying if you sleep in the same room as your PCs and hence this KVM.

Other Thoughts: All buttons on my G15 keyboard and MX518 mouse work fine with this KVM.

There are a number of KVM switches on the market that share the design, and hence probably the limitations of this model. I have yet to determine who the OEM is so that I can contact them directly to enquire about the latency issue.

1. Make sure audio speakers and mic are located away from possible electromagnetic and radio frequency interferences.
a. Place speakers far apart from each other, as recommended by the manufacturer
b. Speakers must be located away from a wireless router or a wireless access point
c. Cell phones in close proximity may cause speakers to produce popping and crackling noises
2. TK-204UK supports only supports 2-speaker audio systems. Customers with surround sound speakers need to reconfigure the sound system to 2-speaker only mode.
4. TK-204UK KVM/USB cables are properly shielded. We tested and found no evidence cables would cause any interference.
5. The round LED serves dual purposes.
-It indicates which PC the TK-204UK is connected to.
-It is also a button allowing user to manually switch between PCs

We have also tested with multiple computers with different sets of speakers at 100% volume and were unable to reproduce any type of distortion or noise.

Pros: works fine with 1 Vista PC, 1 XP PC, Dell DVI monitor and Logitech Cordless 3200 MX Desktop mouse/KB combo. Plug mouse/KB receiver into the KB slot on KVM console.

Cons: Audio cable is bundled with video cable, and apparently is insufficiently shielded, so you get a lot of "noise" on audio.

Other Thoughts: Not good if you want to listen to tunes while you work. Trendnet support has not responded yet.

Pros: Support of up to 24" DVI-D video. It looked good on my 22" Samsung SyncMaster 226BW.

Cons: 1. Doesn't work with multi-function mice/keyboards. Only the scroll wheel and two main buttons of a mouse are supported. I discovered this after setting it up and then searching TrendNets FAQs online. I'm using a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer and Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard.

2. After about 5 minutes of operation, mouse locked up for one second at a time. This would repeat every minute or so.

3. I don't like the design of cables coming out both sides of the device. This makes it difficult to position on the desk if I wanted to use the button on the device to switch between computers.

Other Thoughts: I ended up returning this due to items #1 and #2 in the Cons.
