Pros: Works with everything connected to it. Edimax AC1200 (on USB 3.0 extension, too); Seagate 2TB in external Rosewill case, usb powered; and, Seagate 2TB in different external Rosewill case with own power. Various other LAN adapters and USB 3.0 and 2.0 devices. The included 4A power supply is excellent.

Cons: Huh? Maybe the Luda Chris price @ egg.

Other Thoughts: Didn't work with PC until updated the PC's USB 3.0 driver. Go figure. Bought locally 2yrs ago for four oh. Still same. Thinking about getting another - locally.

Pros: None - does not work at all for me.

Cons: Tried to hook this up to my computer. The motherboard is Asus M5A99 R2.0. It has two built-in USB 3.0 ports on the back and one USB3.0 connector for front connections. Does not work on any of them If I plug in a 3.0 device directly to the ports on the computer, they show up immediately, so ports are fine. Windows 7/64 installed a generic driver the first time. The same devices plugged in to the hub never show up. Yes, I did plug in the power adaptor.

Other Thoughts: I've used Trendnet products before, They have worked fine before. This one is a total lemon. I did not purchase this from NewEgg, the source was our local Micro Center.

Other Thoughts: I have the V1.0R version. Only one USB 3.0 port works, and then only intermittently. I initially thought it may be my drives (3TB WD My Books) but alas this is not the case as they work spectacularly when plugged into my desktop 3.0 usb ports. I have used Trendnet products (mostly networking) and have been very happy, but this product was a big disappointment.

Pros: I have a MS SurfacePro and it has only one USB3 port with no Ethernet port. I have an external USB touch monitor that doubles as a 3 Port USB 2 hub. I have a wireless keyboard + wireless mouse + thumb drive plugged into the monitor. So all I do when I sit is plug 2 jacks from my monitor into my SurfacePro. The lack of wired Ethernet got me.
I bought the TU3-H4 and now I plug my monitor USB and a USB3 to RJ45 into the TU3-H4. Works great and all the signals come through just fine. I don't notice any lags or other problems. I can pull the plug and head to a meeting and then plug back in when I return. For the past 2 weeks it has worked just fine this way.

Cons: I would have been happier with a price around $40. I had only a single problem with this. For a weekend when I got the box, I used it at home as a test. I have a wireless Logitech mouse I've used for a year and it has no lags or slow starts. Plugged into the TU3-H4, the mouse now has some lags. Not all the time, just sometimes. It wasn't only when I grabbed it either. Sometimes it would just lag in the middle of using it. I was worried about this, but now after using it at work with a lot more devices plugged in, I have no issues but I don't use a wireless mouse at work. My wireless keyboard works perfectly...also Logitech.

Other Thoughts: This works just fine as a powered USB 3 hub that looks pretty good and tucks away to the rear of my laptop. Except for the one mouse, it is serving my work needs perfectly and I am pretty happy with the purchase.

Pros: They may come later...

Cons: Customer service is still not following up on my issue effectively.

After an hour of "firmware update" requests from foreign techs, I had to go back to their RMA (didn't they do it online when I was talking to them for an hour?) system and now, it's not showing up; the RMA I mean. The person who was to call me and help clear this up hasn't done so. The sendoff to the US folks didn't happen effectively.



As it's a hardware (not software) issue, the requests to flash the hardware are pointless and I'm surprised they can't seem to get that part. It's in the record and I even took pictures to show them and added them to the record. Don't know what else to do really.

Other Thoughts: Now it's "open ticket tag" and over a month later. I can't see this ending happily. I'd say steer clear of these folks; the products might work well, and often they do, but they can't seem to fix my issue at all. Even when I said I had apparently slipped through the cracks on the open ticket, I was referred to the RMA process...again.

I want a happy ending here; I really do. For the price of this item, I'd like them to have their profitability and take care of the chain that keeps them running after the sale.

Way to make it into my heart? Send me another with a shipping label for it's return. I've waited long enough.

Still, keeping an open mind also keeping in mind that I've been w/o this device for months...

Pros: It's great when it works...

Cons: ..but when it doesn't, it doesn't.

I have had *two* now.

The first one was dead after 5 (count 'em!), five minutes. It just failed to keep powered on. Had to take it back to M****C***** where I bought it over Christmas.

I exchanged it January '13, later when I was in the area.

The Second one worked well enough for a time even though the ports were tight; #3 & 4 were hard to use with several of my cables including a ByTecc USB3 SATA dock USB 3 cable.

Then port 4 stopped working and port three stopped a time thereafter.

I found out why. Seems that the conductors aren't all that stable and they pushed down in their respective sockets. Now I have a two port unit that doesn't really do what I bought it for.

I'm not going another 20 miles each way to exchange it again. My luck with these units hasn't been the best...

Other Thoughts: In general, I'm not crazy about the build quality.

I've been a contractor for a largish internet search company here in the NYC area and I've seen cable "viruses" that will, from a faulty cable, bend pins in ANOTHER device and so on. It happens. Really! Saw it with my own eyes on a Macintosh DVI socket and bad cable.

But in this case, I just can't find the cable that could have done the deed on this device if it in fact happened that way (I used the cables supplied and plugged in my parts).

As ports 4 & 3 were tight in the first place, I surmise that those ports' close tolerances were what bent/forced the pins out of the proper paths in the first place.

Being that this is the second device that's failed, it's probably either in the run of the machines built, or it's just a bad design/build. Either way, I'd stay clear of these things till something is done about them.

Disclaimer:
I've had a TRENDnet gig switch since they started making the 8 port units and that was YEARS ago; still using it.

Have other of their products (USB Blutooth adapters and switches and a N450 Wireless Gigabit Router (ok, that one didn't last that long, my engineer bud says the power supplies on those SOHO parts aren't designed to be that stable or clean (inexpensive) and I concur. I've used real Cisco stuff and I Grok!).

All-in-all, I've been *mostly* happy with their offerings. But this one...(shrug)

Maybe TRENDnet will see this and take pity...

Pros: It has blinky lights , like a small spaceship.

Cons: If it was a spaceship, it would have crashed cause the power cuts out!!!

Other Thoughts: Don't get me wrong, if you plug a flash drive or a phone into it, it will work. But don't even think about plugging in a portable HDD along with those other devices because it will tax the supplied wall wart causing this thing to heat up and do all sorts of exciting things, like randomly shut off, kick your dog, call you bad names. Do yourself a favor and steer clear. I am about to use mine to heat up my coffee!

Pros: Works great with USB 3 devices. Comes with all cables, good power supply. Compact form.

I bought this hub to replace my old usb 2.0 hub on my main system that has a gigabyte ga-z68ap-d3 motherboard. This board uses the entron ej168 usb 3.0 controller chip. Unfortunately it only recognizes usb 3.0 devices when connected to this motherboard. It is not backward compatible with 2.0 devices. They are not recognized at all.

But when this hub connected to my laptop with a Renesas usb 3.0 controller chip this hub works perfectly with both 3.0 and 2.0 devices.

Cons: Possible incompatibility with some motherboards/usb 3.0 chips

Other Thoughts: I took off only one star because it didn't work with the entron chip. Because I'm not sure if that's a Trendnet problem or an entron problem. If I connect a usb 2.0 device directly into the entron ports, not the hub, it connects no problem. More usb 3.0 strangeness that needs to be fixed!

Pros: Plugged into a USB 3.0 Port and have had no problems using USB3.0 or USB2.0 devices with it.

Pros: Works well, when it's working...

Cons: I thought it had died just a few weeks after the warranty went out... It was unresponsive this morning, wouldn't light up or anything.

Other Thoughts: Wish I could edit my previous review to include this: After letting it set while I was at work, it's now working again like nothing was wrong. Who knows, maybe my computer had a hiccup too?
