1 out of 5 eggsTRENDnet's Customer Service is Terrible!

Pros: None - Defective out of the box.

Cons: It didn't work!

Other Thoughts: This was defective out of the box, but because we weren't able to get to the project until after 30 days after purchasing it we had to contact TRENDnet directly for a warranty replacement. After calling them and proving it to be defective they still refused to replace it. I tested this on two sets of computers in two separate locations and no joy. When talking with TRENDnet Tech Support they basically told me that because the device was getting power it couldn't possibly be defective and that I was doing something wrong. I've worked in IT for nearly 20 years and connected too many KVM devices to count - trust me, I know how they work. In addition, the technician I spoke to was very rude and arrogant. I spend a great deal of money each year on technology for a University Cancer Center and I'll make sure I never purchase a TRENDnet product again. I simply don't have the time to deal with this problems like this.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little switch

Pros: I have had KVM switches in the past and found that when the video resolution gets high, the picture gets distorted by the switch. Not this one, the DVI signals get through fine and looks great!

USB and audio switch part works fine also.

I use this thing everyday and switch back and forth throughout the day.

Cons: None so far.

4 out of 5 eggsWorking well 6 months in

Pros: Easy setup. Just plug and go.
Didn't need to install any additional drivers or software.
Wired remote can sit conveniently right next to my keyboard while the "box" is further back out of the way.

Cons: I have occasionally had issues if I try switching back and forth too quickly or if one of the computers is off or in sleep mode. But this may be more operator error. <points finger at self>....

Other Thoughts: Some of the reviews I read prior to buying this gave me some pause, but I've had no major problems. The only real reason that I didn't give it 5 eggs is that I've not had a ton of experience with other KVMs. That being said, 6 months in and i wouldn't hesitate to but another of these.
Please note that I am using this with two desktop computers with wired mouse and keyboard. Really a pretty basic application.

4 out of 5 eggsSound Problems

Pros: Works relatively well for intended purpose. The switch works good; a little twitchy sometimes, but mostly good. No problems with video quality or general function after more than a year.

Cons: There is interference in the audio. When crank up the speaker you can hear the rice krispies snap crackle and pop. The audio line, USB and DVI are bundled to gether and obviously go through this very small box. There is insuficient sheilding to account for all the EM traffic bottled up there, thus the sound issues. I ran an independent line from the speakers to the computer and what do you know, problem solved. But this defeats 1/3 of the purpose of this KVM.

Other Thoughts: If you want great sound quality through a KVM, get a diferrent one. If you dont mind a little distortion, this one will work pretty well.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Seems well enough built, cosmetically.

Cons: Either DOA or incredibly incompatible. Hooking this up causes one of my machines to fail to even post. The other can post, but when it starts booting into Windows, the display goes blank and claims it cannot display the video. Both of these machines work fine with another DVI KVM I have, and both boot fine without the KVM, so it's not them.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent KVM

Pros: This thing allows 2048x1152 resolution! I thought I would be limited to 1920x1080 as advertised. The switch feels like a solid unit and so far works excellent switching between my computers.

Cons: None so far.

4 out of 5 eggsBeen working great

Pros: Very reliable, no problems so far. The cable on the switch button is over 4 ft long, so is easy to place near your hands.

Cons: Video cables might be a tad short(34 inches) for some, but my computers are close to each other, so no problem for me.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works!

Pros: Perfect for two computers to one monitor, keyboard, mouse. My monitor is 1920x1080 and it's flawless on both computers.

Cons: Once in a while, usb gets confused and loses keyboard after switching -- I just redo the switch (2 sec) and it finds it the 2nd time.

Other Thoughts: This little puppy works exactly as I needed, and didn't require any special setup. In fact, I didn't do the setup the recommended way, and it worked anyway. Pretty much just hook it up and you're done.

1 out of 5 eggsComplete Garbage

Pros: Newegg promptly processed and delivered the product--with free shipping.

Cons: The cables to connect the computers are ridiculously short!
The switcher distorts the video
No video display with Dell Latitude E series port replicator.
