4 out of 5 eggsWorks pretty well

Pros: - Easy to install.
- Does a good job sending the video+audio to the remote end.
- Handy video and audio passthrough connectors on the computer end.

Cons: - A little ghosting on the remote picture.
- Remote video not a sharp as with digital transmission, but probably about as good as can be expected otherwise.
- Power supplies required on both end of the link.
- The remote display's EDID is not supported by the link. In my case, this is actually a pro because I can set the screen resolution to what I want, instead of what Windows would otherwise allow.

Other Thoughts: The only reason for not giving a 5-egg rating is the slight ghosting on the remote picture. The image looks the same with a short patch cable connection, or through about 100' of cat6 wire with a patch panel in the middle. If I'm more than a few feet from the tv screen the ghosting is a nit. If the TV is used as a monitor for serious text reading, a digital link would be better. For casual browsing or looking at photos and videos, this product does a great job, and the easy installation is wonderful.

Manufacturer Response:

I apologize for the issues that you had with the B130-101A. We recommend connecting this unit to the application with solid conductor patch cable (Tripp Lite’s N202-series). Using these cables will provide the enhanced video quality over long distances that you are looking for. If you have any additional questions or comments , please contact our Chicago based Tech Support team at 773-869-1234 and they would be happy to assist you further. Thank you.

3 out of 5 eggscheaper solution

Pros: Metal caseing, good labeling on the equipment, packed well by Mfg. Can adjust gain for power settings to compensate a bit. ( mind you this isn't a long throw device that will patch you around the world and back but for a few hundred feet it should do) Please make sure you don't skimp on cat5/6e or your VGA cables. This beats hauling a snake up in the rafters. A 24 channel reinforced snake might as well been Titanic's door stop, but this Cat5 option a blessing compared to that. Also cat 5/6 much much easier to replace, redirect or run as well (get yourself a hub / patch panel and possibilities for routing can be interesting and you can move signal to where you have the wiring and just slap these things on then ends.

Cons: Device seems well made. I have ordered 2 of these for an AV install in a church santuary front and back for projectors.
I'm happy so far with devices, however I am disappointed in NE shipping on the 2nd one. I paid for over night shipping as I needed it at end of week to install. Order was 1am friday and it wasn't picked till 12 hours later even when rush was paid, it was sent Fedex overnight ( since UPS no longer delivers Sat - I know Fedex has and does still) Friday, nada, Saturday, nada, Sunday of course not and finally Monday and I'm not there to get in the skyjack lift and install it half way to heaven.( glad the skyjack was on loan and not rental as 3 days would have been pricey though it did waste 212miles of travel). NE is great 98% of the time but I'll use other suppliers next time I need a weekend rush.

Other Thoughts: Was a little surprised that the price went up since the 1st purchase a few months earlier.

Order no less than Wed and you should have all that you need by friday with NE's shipping record, but rush is iffy after Thurs so don't pay the higher shipping if that is the case, mine was only 27 greenbacks this time - lucky .

All in all NE is still my usually one stop shop, unless they don't carry the hardware/equipment I need
