2 out of 5 eggsWorked for over 1 year

Pros: Digital, mosstly quiet, good cables.

Cons: Can't trust it to last, inefficient and gets surprising loud when under 2xTitan + 3960x bench loads.

Other Thoughts: Took a chance since EVGA does well with a few other things. PSU isn't one of them apparently. I just bought Corsair AX1500i to replace this unit. I'll RMA this and put the return I get into the closet for an emergency backup.

Note in the custom rig I built I use 2PSU. A corsair HX1050 to power all the pumps, fans and other misc. This Nova 1500 was powering 2xEVGA GTX Titan, Asus R4E, 3960X and several SSD. Nova shut off a few times on its own over the last year and the other morning when I came in to my office it was off. That's the last time it ever worked. Dead PSU after just over 1 year = horrendous. Reviews across the net piling up about it too. EVGA Noda 1500 = avoid it... it's not the long lasting quality (at all) you would expected from EVGA.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Excellent 24/7 Customer Support and Technical Support.

Cons: Dead on Arrival.
Tech Support assisted me with troubleshooting they were actually helpful and spoke English. However the power supply decided "burn/smell funny" while on the phone. Tech support registered and RMA the product. No problems.

Other Thoughts: It happens. EVGA is a great brand 24/7 Tech Support. Would definitely buy again regardless of a DOA item.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat idea, but could be better

Pros: Solid PSU and comes with a lot of cables.

Cons: No 4 pin cpu cable. Not really sure whats up with the handle. Died in less than a year.

Other Thoughts: EVGA is usually very good with RMAs. I think next time i will just stick to EVGA GPUs only.

Manufacturer Response:

Valued Newegg Customer,

Thanks for your review, and thanks for being an EVGA customer.

Although the 1500W support dual 8-pin EPS connections, it does not support 4-pin EPS as you mention. This model was designed and intended for its use with 8-pin EPS connections only.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking just fine so far

Pros: Effecient, powerful.

Cons: Should most certainly have shipped with a 4-pin molex for additional MB power connector. That is definitely an oversight at EVGA and for the money of this PSU, they should offer to ship customers one free of charge.

Other Thoughts: I see folks complaining about the metal bar? You DID SEE the picture of the PSU you purchased, right? See the big metal bar in the picture? Did you think you'd get a version without it? No, you didn't think that, you're just "adding" something that makes no sense because you're upset (rightfully) with real issues you may be having. Stick to the facts and don't embellish.

Back to the review portion, the PSU seems perfectly solid. I'm using 2 PSU with this as the primary for a R4E + 3960X + 2xGTX Titan. My Corsair 900D came with the extension for the 4-pin MB molex so I got lucky on that.

2 out of 5 eggshaving to buy adapters that is crazy

Pros: great looking more power than you will ever need full modular cables

Cons: there is no 4 pin ATX for the motherboard that is crazy for a power supply that cost $449.99 not like the rampage IV Extreme is an old board either. And the bar sticking out the back is also silly Im not going to cary around a power supply unit from computer to computer

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

I do apologize the 24-pin connector for the motherboard is not a 20+4 configuration. I see from the specification on the Rampage IV Extreme it has a 24-pin connection that should work.

If there is anything I can do to help with your EVGA 1500 Power Supply, please let me know, my contact information is below.

2 out of 5 eggsUpdate

Pros: nice colors and cables

Cons: Running 2 690's for 10 months on a average of gaming 10 hours a week for 10 months and it died. I have bought so much evga parts over the years and can't believe a power supply costing so much and from a reputable company that it would last longer.

Other Thoughts: Will report back how evga is with returns. The supply looks like new and was hooked up properly so it's in their hands now. Will call after the holiday and hope they stand by what they sell.(update...EVGA sent me a new power supply with no cost to me, so they have great customer support, will give this new one a try and hope for the best.}

5 out of 5 eggsLike a dream

Pros: This thing does exactly what it is made to do.... PERFORM!

Tons of power, fancy cables and doesn't miss a beat ever...

OC Mode for ones that want that last little bit! (wish I had 240v and I'd be set with mine now)

Cons: Doesn't allow for much system configuring since the cables only come in two colors black and red.

There should be an additional option for one to select a particular color to coincide with their build.

If you're going to pay that much anyways for a PSU you're going to pay for a "possible" option to get them modded or do it yourself.

Other Thoughts: Saying that this thing is a beast is an understatement.... I bought this on a whim thinking that "hopefully" it was my PSU that decided to go off the deep end and start acting up. Luckily I was right.

I have gone through some PSU's in the 12+years of computer anything you can imagine and this is by far the best one I have used.

I love the readings it gives you on the software based monitoring tools that are available (yes of course you get better using a meter) but this a nice perk with just a "USB" header plugged in.

I have peaked this one out at 1576 watts of output power and a whopping 1832 watts of input!!!

5 out of 5 eggsNice Power Supply

Pros: quiet, plenty of cables, cable length, power

Cons: The 8-pin EATX 12V power cable is a little short to run out the back of a Cosmos II case and up to the motherboard (Crosshair V Formula-z). Cable has to be ran inside the case. Not really that big a deal as extensions can be purchased, but for $400+ power supply extra parts should not be required.

No 4 pin EATX 12V EZ plug

Other Thoughts: This is a very nice power supply with plenty of cables of multiple variations for any gaming rig you can imagine. I use a Cosmos II full tower case and cable lengths were plenty long enough to allow running of all cables through the back of case and route to perspective points on motherboard (other than the CPU power cable).

4 out of 5 eggsIt's a power supply...

Pros: High wattage. Sleeved cables. Nice looking design. Has some good extra features compared to other units. Can power an extreme amount of devices in your rig. EVGA customer service.

Cons: The blinking light is anoying. The handle is extra anoying when installing the PSU.

Other Thoughts: If you see a solid red light on the back when you power it on after you boot, but it turns to a blinking orange light after you reset it, then you most likely have a short in one of your devices. The power supply will ahut off if it encounters a short. It gives you the impression that either your mobo is dead or your powersupply is dead. I suggest you test your rig fully before concluding that it is a defective PSU. Take out the powersupply feom your case and test each connector onw by one to determine rhe faulty connection if there is one.
