5 out of 5 eggsLike a dream

Pros: This thing does exactly what it is made to do.... PERFORM!

Tons of power, fancy cables and doesn't miss a beat ever...

OC Mode for ones that want that last little bit! (wish I had 240v and I'd be set with mine now)

Cons: Doesn't allow for much system configuring since the cables only come in two colors black and red.

There should be an additional option for one to select a particular color to coincide with their build.

If you're going to pay that much anyways for a PSU you're going to pay for a "possible" option to get them modded or do it yourself.

Other Thoughts: Saying that this thing is a beast is an understatement.... I bought this on a whim thinking that "hopefully" it was my PSU that decided to go off the deep end and start acting up. Luckily I was right.

I have gone through some PSU's in the 12+years of computer anything you can imagine and this is by far the best one I have used.

I love the readings it gives you on the software based monitoring tools that are available (yes of course you get better using a meter) but this a nice perk with just a "USB" header plugged in.

I have peaked this one out at 1576 watts of output power and a whopping 1832 watts of input!!!

5 out of 5 eggsNice Power Supply

Pros: quiet, plenty of cables, cable length, power

Cons: The 8-pin EATX 12V power cable is a little short to run out the back of a Cosmos II case and up to the motherboard (Crosshair V Formula-z). Cable has to be ran inside the case. Not really that big a deal as extensions can be purchased, but for $400+ power supply extra parts should not be required.

No 4 pin EATX 12V EZ plug

Other Thoughts: This is a very nice power supply with plenty of cables of multiple variations for any gaming rig you can imagine. I use a Cosmos II full tower case and cable lengths were plenty long enough to allow running of all cables through the back of case and route to perspective points on motherboard (other than the CPU power cable).

4 out of 5 eggsIt's a power supply...

Pros: High wattage. Sleeved cables. Nice looking design. Has some good extra features compared to other units. Can power an extreme amount of devices in your rig. EVGA customer service.

Cons: The blinking light is anoying. The handle is extra anoying when installing the PSU.

Other Thoughts: If you see a solid red light on the back when you power it on after you boot, but it turns to a blinking orange light after you reset it, then you most likely have a short in one of your devices. The power supply will ahut off if it encounters a short. It gives you the impression that either your mobo is dead or your powersupply is dead. I suggest you test your rig fully before concluding that it is a defective PSU. Take out the powersupply feom your case and test each connector onw by one to determine rhe faulty connection if there is one.

5 out of 5 eggsNot as bad as everyone says

Pros: One of the few power supplies to allow you to run quad SLI and 2x 8-pin CPU cables at the same time. With AX1200 and Seasonic X-1250 it says you can run 4-way SLI, but you have to sacrifice one of the two CPU plugs in order to do so.

Also, I got mine directly from EVGA and its run smooth since day one. Unfortunate that some people have gotten units that are DOA or crapout in a month, but maybe this issue has been fixed or just bad luck??

Cons: Stupid handle on the back

Other Thoughts: On sale a lot.. wait a week or so and probably can find it for < or = to $400

1 out of 5 eggsVery Disapointed

Pros: Bought this due to all the wonderful past experiences with EVGA video cards and customer service. It is gorgeous in every aspect from the textured paint to the sleeved cables. None of my components were damaged when the PSU blew.

Cons: Died during first burn-in. Completely bricked the PSU. RMAing and then ditching it on Craigslist.

Other Thoughts: I've bought dozens of PSUs in the last decade ranging from little $30 no name throwaways to high-end platinum big brands. I've only had to RMA 2 and that was deep into their life-cycle. Can't say I'll be tempted to try another EVGA power supply any time soon.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsFLASHES CONSTANTLY when computer is off

Pros: Works okay as a power supply if you don't care about the constant flashing.

Cons: Brilliant flashing LED on the back which informs you of the HIGHLY URGENT information that your computer is not turned on. CONSTANTLY. Remember the <blink> tag?

Big stupid metal bar sticking out the back for no readily apparent reason.

External power cord doesn't fit into supply unit very well.

Other Thoughts: I FLASH hope you FLASH have no plans FLASH FLASH to keep this computer in your FLASH bedroom FLASH.

1 out of 5 eggsBAD P/S

Pros: Looks Nice

Cons: Lasted 2 months. worked fine for 1 month, then random black screens and BSOD's during high graphic loads, now lost all power out to pcie cables, replaced with my very used Corsair AX 1200 and all is well again. Very disappointed in EVGA and quality of this unit

Other Thoughts: Don't be fooled by good looks, high rated output, stick to known quality, I usually don't make purchases on looks and ratings. this is a reminder why

Manufacturer Response:

I am very sorry to hear that you are having this issue. Please give us a call at 888-881-3842 so we can work to get this resolved for you.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU, annoying whine

Pros: The dip switches are amazing, the fact I don't need to do the paperclip trick to power on my PSU with out a mobo is an awesome addition. Also the mapping of the rails and the ability to go single is also great features. It handles every load i has run on it with nice cool temps.

Cons: Has a very annoying high pitch whine when mobo is powered down, can flip the switch, but shouldn't be an issue in the first place. -1 Egg.

Flashing red light when not in use... makes you think that there's an error.

Didn't come with its own Theme song.

Other Thoughts: I love it with out a doubt. Just wish it was quiet when powered off...

The flashing red LED is just an ignorable nuisance.

5 out of 5 eggsEVGA PSU

Pros: I have chosen to use the EVGA PSU Power Supply because of the total watts it can put out. The fact it has a 10 year warranty and allows you to monitor your power is a huge bonus. With this unit you can plug it straight into the wall outlet

The modular cables are very well made and allows for easy installation and removal. Module Cable cleaned up great in the case.

Actual Length without the bar in measurement: 7 and 7/8 inch.

Since the bar will be on the outside of the case I subtracted that length from the total reported of 9 and 1/2 inch.

The PSU fits perfect in the Rosewill THOR V2 Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case.

Cons: Upon receiving shipment no screws were supplied for me.
EVGA badge wasn't present.
The serial number is way to small to read and requires a EAGLES EYESIGHT. Get the binoculars out for registering this product.
Would of liked to see EVGA put the logo on both sides of the PSU. I have my fan pointed downward at the bottom of the case so it is just a black back when opening the case. BORING!

Other Thoughts: Not happy about EVGA running a promotion for 100 dollars off on the website as I have purchased both the 680 FTW+ EVGA Graphics Card and the EVGA 1500 PSU within the past 15 days. Not happy!

Would like to see EVGA put a video out on how to use this PSU and ensure all the details are captured. Do's and Dont's? Educate the user for safty if you are going to make such a great product!

5 out of 5 eggsEVGA NEX1500 Is Amazing!!!

Pros: Real enthusiasts and people who are whole life with computers know significance of PSU.
PSU is long-term investment and gamers, overcklockers, enthusiasts who can afford this will not regret.
10 years warranty, Switchable Multi/Single Rail Options, OC Mode with 1650W and amazing single sleeve cables, Gold Standard this is pure Next Gen PSU and other companies will follow this if want success, EVGA always push borders, and risk first to make this hobby better and EVGA probably best understand what enthusiast need.Cables are long enough and no need for extensions, almost 20 cables... connectors are top quality, Sanyo Denki AXIAL Fan keep this unit cool even when deliver over 120A, piece of art in little begs perfect to go on OC sessions easy with holder.
I'm very satisfied with PSU, cables, fan control.
All people I know who own NEX1500 are impressed and I'm proud owner of one. PSU is standard size and perfectly fit in mid tower case too.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I recommend this PSU for all people who need 3way, 4 way SLI and CF, even for SLI/ CF like GTX680, HD7970 but want to forget on powersupply and next builds.
PSU is for 2-3 sometimes 4 builds but only if you choose something good.
If you want good looking PC, if you want to avoid mess with cables and lose efficiency with extension, ...if you want 10 years to forgot on everything about PSU, perfect sleeve without srinks and always need some fix because bent, than NEX1500 is real thing and best option. Cheaper than you think on first look.
Don't think only on graphic card and CPU everything depend of stable PSU and parts inside this are top.
