5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Performance & Value

Pros: - Excellent value for the price (1500W, Sleeved cables, Supernova software, Excellent build quality)
- Running 4 EVGA 780ti ACX SC ACX cards without issue
- Supernova software is easy to use and worked first time without issue

Cons: - Not really a con, but it does get warm under heavy loads

Other Thoughts: I read reviews on this unit before I bought it and the "pros" had many negative things to say...but I don't get it. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this product. Okay, so the voltage regulation on the 5V/3.3V rails are not as tight as other brands...it's the 12V rail I'm concerned with and it's exceptionally tight. And who cares if the Supernova software isn't 99.999% accurate. I don't need 5-9's accuracy. What I do need is an easy way to measure input/output power, temps, and control over the fan profile. How many times I've wondered how much wattage my computer is drawing with no good/safe way to figure it out. The Supernova software is excellent.

Thus far I've put a peak load of 1372W on this unit with an average of around 1250-1300W with all four 780ti's loaded. After many 6+ hour gaming sessions the unit does get warm, but not excessively so.

Another complaint from the "pros" is the fan noise. I don't even hear the fan and I have it set to performance profile. There may be some, but I also have some case fans and I can't hear the PS over the case fans....hardly the "obscenely loud" review one site gave it.

In closing, this is a great product at a good value if you want/need the complete package. The sleeved cables are worth $100 by themselves (if that's your thing), and the Supernova software is a great tool. At the time of this review the unit is in stock, but I've heard it is being discontinued. However, don't let that bother you, this is a quality product and EVGA support is excellent.

5 out of 5 eggsSeems to be doing alright compared to what others have said on other sites

Pros: The PSU overall is a fantastic piece of work. Quiet and so far, great performance. I'm SLI'ing two 780ti's with an OC @4.4ghz 4960x and everything has been running smoother than butter.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I have read in other reviews that this PSU was not all that it intended on being, but seeing that this has 9 solid reviews on newegg, and good reviews on a-mazon, I decided to take a chance because first of all: I love EVGA. second: this thing is a beast. Although, I have no idea why this product has been discontinued. I have been searching everywhere for an answer. I don't want assume it had too many problems and they decided to take it off the market. Hopefully, it's because they are making an even better one :)

1 out of 5 eggs60 day FOLLOW UP

Pros: Rated at 80PLUS GOLD, high amperage on independent rails, decent warranty term in relation to other brands.

Cons: PSU1, Dead on 1st boot. RMA'd, PSU1a failed after about a month, and likely took the main board with it on its way out due to its own USB connection. PSU1b, worked until the SR-2 finished dying within a week of its arrival. Even purchased another NEX1500 to test with and tried swapping cables (since RMA's do not include replacements for troubleshooting).

3 units within 60 days is Not a reliable PSU. It's no wonder they offer a 5-10 year warranty...

Other Thoughts: While eVGA may once have been the leader in both product reliability and service response, it is sad to say that this is no longer the case. Their own forums are ripe with failure after failure, and eVGA is doing nothing more than reading from play-books for support and dragging their heels on service turn around.

5 out of 5 eggsEVGA Tech Support Rocks!

Pros: Got the PSU for a decent price considering the wattage.

Cons: Connecting the graphics cards didn't work initially.

Other Thoughts: I tried several times, several different cards and several different slots on my mobo but to my surprise, the graphics cards were failing to be recognized. I contacted EVGA tech support and they were super helpful. They even gave me the advice I needed to make the graphics cards work properly with the mobo. None of those items other than the PSU were their products. I will purchase EVGA again.

5 out of 5 eggshappy customer

Pros: Not loud at all; was worried after reading some reviews. I have only pushed it up to ~650 watts of output power, but not load at that load.

Cabling is top notch. Wish all power supply cables were made this way. The individual sleeving makes the cable very flexible and easy to run/position how I want.

Cons: The handle on the back is not strong enough to use to move a case. It is fine if you want to carry around the power supply.

The packaging could be scaled back a bit. Not sure why a cover for the case is necessary. Would not mind shaving $50 off the price to cheapen up the packaging.

5 out of 5 eggsEven better than expected!

Pros: -Fantastic individually sleeved cabling.
-Single +12v rail @ 124A.
-Quiet operation (unless you are really pushing this unit, i.e. above 1000 watt).
-Has no trouble running an i7 3930k and 4x GTX Titan's.
-Software monitoring actually works very well (thought not super accurate).
-Did I mention the individually sleeved cabling is awesome?!

Cons: -Labeling of modular cables is really pretty strange. The numbers on the modular interface are meaningless. It doesn't correspond to rails or anything relevant.
-Unit runs warm at high loads causing some fan noise.
-Output voltage isn't as clean as some of the competitors in this price range.
-Unless I'm missed it, there are no 4-pin CPU power connectors, only 8-pin EPS connectors.
-PCIe cables are red.

Other Thoughts: I was reluctant to buy this unit seeing as most of the professional reviews were very critical of it. I decided to take a chance anyway because it seemed to be the best feature set in the price range. I was unable to find another PSU that offered individually sleeved cabling, fully modular setup, software monitoring, and such a high power output at 50C. This unit is far better than I had expected.

The software monitoring was what sold me on this unit. Yes, it's not very accurate, but it does work EVERY time I open it. I had a terrible time with the software monitoring on the competitor's "Link" system. When you are building a system that can actually draw 1500 watts, it's nice to have the software to keep an eye on things to prevent accidentally tripping breakers.

Also, the individually sleeved cabling is absolutely fantastic on this unit. The cables are sleeved all the way to the connectors, so there is no visible heat shrink. The cables are also flexible and so easy to work with that cable management is actually a pleasure.

My complaints about this unit are pretty minor and are covered above. I really would liked to have seen a 4+4pin CPU power connector instead of the 2 8pin EPS connectors. Also the red PCIe cables really don't fit with my black and white color scheme. I wish EVGA offered alternate coloring for these.

As I mentioned above I am running an x79 system with 4-way SLI GTX Titan's. Even after several months of hard use (I'm either gaming or folding) it hasn't skipped a beat. I would not hesitate to buy this unit again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a feature-packed PSU.

5 out of 5 eggsPower to protect your Investment

Pros: -1500Watts
-Individually Sleeved Cable system
-16 x 6+2pin PCI-E and 3 x 6pin connectors (3-Way SLI yeah)
-Monitoring software - SuperNOVA
-Nice textured finish
-A Power Cable that feels like it can handle the power
-Quiet - active fan
-5 Year Warranty

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Wish I knew EVGA had power supplies sooner......
My previous 1200W from (C..... company), although cheaper, burnt out one of my GTX680's.

**All I can say is that you can not skimp on your power supply......It is the ENGINE of your system that powers everything critical!
Especially when you spend thousands of dollars on Video cards, CPU, memory and motherboard, dont risk damaging all those parts that are power critical......just to save $50-$100...... I did and it cost me an additional $500. **Protect your Investment made on the rest of the components in your rig.** Power it with as much as you can.
