5 out of 5 eggsVery high quality

This review is from: EVGA 120-G2-1000-XR 80 PLUS GOLD 1000 W 10 yr Warranty Fully Modular NVIDIA SLI Ready and Crossfire Support continuous Power Supply

Pros: Initial opening of the box was an exciting experience, the box looked great to match the amazing hardware inside.
Fully modular for those of you that want to have an upgrade able rig, but wont use every outlet right away.
All cables are braided and look very high quality.
Everything comes with an EVGA bag to keep things organized.
It comes with a 10 year warranty
Not too heavy
I bought mine on sale with a 20 dollar mail in rebate, total end price was 149.99, for a 1000 watt power supply that is an amazing price.
Has over amp and under amp internal protection.

Cons: none what so ever

Other Thoughts: If this is on sale I'd recommend this, even if the 1000 watts is overkill, consider that you should have too much wattage versus not enough.

Good steady power even with CPU OC'd to 4.5 and 970 OC'd 24/7
EVGA has not let me down yet great company.

Cons: None so far except no back plate when I purchased it...

Other Thoughts: Would recommend if on sale as I got a pretty decent deal.

5 out of 5 eggsEVGA - Best Power Supplies - Bar None

This review is from: EVGA 120-G2-1000-XR 80 PLUS GOLD 1000 W 10 yr Warranty Fully Modular NVIDIA SLI Ready and Crossfire Support continuous Power Supply

Pros: -Braided Cables
-Red Braided PCI-E cables
-Great Distance between PCI-E Power Dividers (Those with 2 PCI-E connectors at the one end)
-Tough As Nails (One of mine had a rough ride and doesn't even show)
-Fully Modular
-Spare Cable Pouches
-Very Silent
-Pleasure to work with
-The smell out of the box... I get high off this.

Cons: -Some twist ties were tough to get off, looked melted but no damage to the cable :/
-Cables could be shipped in an "O" shape; it's better on the wires than bending them
-Not really cons, that's just my quirkiness.

Other Thoughts: This is my 3rd of those 1,000w power supplies and I am a Bitcoin miner; so it does get a fair workout. I have everything from SeaSonics to Corsairs, in other words, every premium brand but EVGA blows them all out of the water. The cables are unmatched in the industry and for Bitcoin mining, you need good cables or they get too hot can can damage the equipment.

That said, the only power supplies I've ever had problems with were SeaSonic, Corsair needs to be reset once in a blue moon but the EVGA runs non-stop without a hitch, ever. You want reliability, the extra you pay is more than worth it and I used to be loyal to Corsair. I still use my Corsairs but all my future PSU buys will definitely EVGA, at any power level but I'll never need more than 1,000 watts.

They give you a 5 year warranty, not like you'll ever need it, those things are tough and cool running. This is a very good investment for any miner or heavy gamer.

5 out of 5 eggsPowers R9 295x2 great

This review is from: EVGA 120-G2-1000-XR 80 PLUS GOLD 1000 W 10 yr Warranty Fully Modular NVIDIA SLI Ready and Crossfire Support continuous Power Supply

Pros: It works as it should
Gold rated

Cons: It doesn't sing.

Other Thoughts: My other Antec bronze plus 1000w 25A @12 v rail was not strong enough to power R9 295x2. I was able to run 2x7950 on it but not my new card. This unit did the job well. It has 50+A and 10 year warranty. Switching out the PSU every few years is a great way to make sure your computer survives. My first build in 2006 lasted 5 years until PSU blew and fried everything. One way to tell that a PSU is going bad is a high pitched winning noise.

5 out of 5 eggsPERFECT Fit

This review is from: EVGA 120-G2-1000-XR 80 PLUS GOLD 1000 W 10 yr Warranty Fully Modular NVIDIA SLI Ready and Crossfire Support continuous Power Supply

Pros: - I've had issues with certain brands of power supplies in some past builds not fitting into the board (not seating or clipping onto the rails), and this has been nothing but wonderful.

- The modular nature of this is an obvious pro, and the cords are wonderful. It comes with an extra EVGA embroidered case for any extra cables you don't use.

- Heck, the PSU even comes in its OWN case. Thoroughly impressed again using this for a second time.

- PSU is usually the one thing I am afraid of not working on first boot, but this thing is a beast... which is also why I got this yet again. It's overkill but one of the things I never want in my builds are PSU's that are built poorly--and this one continues to be one of the best.

Cons: None!

5 out of 5 eggsAll the power i need

This review is from: EVGA 120-G2-1000-XR 80 PLUS GOLD 1000 W 10 yr Warranty Fully Modular NVIDIA SLI Ready and Crossfire Support continuous Power Supply

Pros: - 100% modular
- the cables are tightly wrapped making it very easy to rout the cables threw the case.
-10 year warranty is great peace of mind
-the fan is whisper quite
-convenient bag to keep extra cables you are not using

Cons: -it is a tad longer then most PSU's by about 2 inches so just make sure you have plenty of room in the area where you mount it in your case
-only one v12 rail but plenty of amps running threw it for most cards

Other Thoughts: - i would definitely recommend this PSU to anyone looking to upgrade

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice PSU

This review is from: EVGA 120-G2-1000-XR 80 PLUS GOLD 1000 W 10 yr Warranty Fully Modular NVIDIA SLI Ready and Crossfire Support continuous Power Supply

Pros: Easy to install. I always bought Corsair in the past but very happy with EVGA PSU. Come with plenty of cables.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsZero issues, great PSU!

This review is from: EVGA 120-G2-1000-XR 80 PLUS GOLD 1000 W 10 yr Warranty Fully Modular NVIDIA SLI Ready and Crossfire Support continuous Power Supply

Pros: SIze, modular cables, doesn't trip arc-fault breakers

Cons: It can't make me a sammich...

Other Thoughts: I LOVE this PSU. I came from an OCZ Fatal1ty 700W and comparatively this thing is rock solid! I used to constantly trip the arc-fault breaker that I was connected to but I've never had it happen with this EVGA. The 10-year warranty drew me in and knowing that I have power for the future made this a winner in my book. It would be nice if the 8-pin pcie cables weren't red but that's a minor gripe. This thing has been going strong for a year so far and I don't anticipate it crapping out any time soon. Great job EVGA!

4 out of 5 eggsGood PSU, but do your homework before you buy

This review is from: EVGA 120-G2-1000-XR 80 PLUS GOLD 1000 W 10 yr Warranty Fully Modular NVIDIA SLI Ready and Crossfire Support continuous Power Supply

Pros: -pretty quiet, not as loud as my old coolermaster
-don't have a psu tester so I can only tell you that it works, and has run my 4690k and r9 295x2 for months with no problems.

Cons: -No ECO-MODE. On Newegg, (and probably other retailers) says this PSU has eco-mode. It does not, the EVGA page is correct. So if you are looking for a 0 RPM fan mode, get a different psu. If you look at the pictures, the EVGA units that have eco-mode have a switch on the back above the power switch, this one does not, despite the fact that there are even graphs for eco-mode on this product page.

Other Thoughts: EVGA needs to double check what retailers are telling people. Most of you won't care, but I bought this PSU specifically for eco-mode and it does not have it. Get the 850G2, or any P2 and it will.
