1 out of 5 eggsBlew After 2 Days!

Pros: Modular.

Cables are marked and color coded.

Decent price.

Box is solid for protection.

Cons: - Fan is audible at idle (other's say it's loud at load...this could be an issue for you).

-- Fan didn't turn off in idle mode.

- Unreliable first unit. If the 2nd unit craps out....I'll edit this review or post another one accordingly!

-- Manual is abyssmal.

--No Eco mode?!

Other Thoughts: My unit blew a firecracker sound after 2 days of use.

Before this blow out, the PSU was randomly rebooting my desktop. I thought it was the new Windows 8 bugs that was causing this randomness or maybe the new mobo.....ultimately, the culprit was the EVGA unit.

Mind you, EVGA is a great company for video cards but they are new to PSUs and they thusly aggressively price their PSus to build name and market share.

Well, I'm hesitant to be a part of their "learning experience" as they ramp up their know-how in how to build reliable PSUs.....good thing they have a 10 year warranty....I think they secretly know they have a higher than normal failure rate and want to assure customers they have their back.

Being that it's EVGA, I'll take that trust forward if anything were to happen to my replacement. This unit seems to have lots of 5* and 1*....in other words, you either get lucky with a good unit....or you don't.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear David R.,

I am sorry to hear that you had a problem with your product and I can assure you that this behavior is not common. I can also confirm that this unit does have our Quiet and Intelligent Auto Fan feature and when you combine this feature with the double ball bearing fan this means that the product does have near silent operation in most operating conditions.

I am also very sorry for any confusion as we do stand behind our products and this along with the use of high quality components is why we do offer a 10 year warranty on this product.

Please contact our 24 hour technical support at 1-888-881-3842 option 1 or by email at Newegg@evga.com as we are here to help.

Sincerely,
EVGA Customer Support

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: Super Energy Efficient
Great cable supply
Super quiet
Nuclear Power Rival

Cons: This isn't enough to knock off an egg but.....

Size. It fit into my Case (Phantom 410) and allowed a fan on the bottom. I was surprised, but really, it was a tight fit and I was unsure it would work with the case. The PSU intake hole is slightly off, but the bulk of it aligned well so no worries luckily.

Still, double check sizing for your case.

Other Thoughts: I got it on sale but honestly, I would have payed full price for it.

Can't wait to SLI with this puppy and see how it performs.

5 out of 5 eggsOne Serious PSU.

Pros: -Made by EVGA.
-Fully Modular.
-10 year warranty.
-Will run 3 high end GPUs without a problem.
-Pretty quiet.
-Good quality cables.

Cons: Not one.

Other Thoughts: I am running SuperNova 1300 G2 on my secondary build and it is one solid PSU! I run Corsair AX1200i on my other setup and it's a whole lot more expensive. For a lot less you can get SuperNova 1300 G2 that's just as good. Everything about this PSU screams good quality. EVGA just never disappoints. I would recommend this PSU to anyone building a serious Crossfire/SLI/Overclocking setup. It won't disappoint you. I'd personally buy it again without a doubt!
Current Setup:
i5-4670K @ 4.3GHz
ASRock Z97 Extreme4
Crossfire Gigabyte R9 290s
4X4GB Crucial Ballistix Sport XT @ 1866mhz
Cooler Master Seidon 120M
240GB SSD PNY XLR8
EVGA SuperNova 1300 G2
-On top of that it's powering 2 HDDs & 8 fans. I am also planning on adding a 3rd R9 290.

2 out of 5 eggsDead after a few months?

Pros: Comes in a very well packaged box...good for returns I suppose.

Cons: I get to add to the seemingly long list of folks with this power unit that has died either on arrival or not long after. I've been using this unit for less than 6 months and one day my computer just started crashing. Crashed a couple times, I shut the computer down, got back up the next morning to research the problem more and couldn't even get the computer to light up.

Other Thoughts: EVGA is a very reputable company, I have a few of their products. I will not however go back after this particular unit...sorry EVGA. "No marks against New Egg" They have been fantastic for me.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Steve W,

I am very sorry to hear of the issue. Please understand that we do use high quality components, but there are many factors that can cause this type of behavior. Please do not hesitate to contact our 24 hour technical support at 1-888-881-3842 option 1 or by email at Newegg@evga.com as we are here to help with troubleshooting and also warranty if it is required.

5 out of 5 eggsAn Almost Perfect Solution

Pros: Let me just say, I am pleasantly surprised by EVGA. This SuperNOVA power supply has been the first EVGA product I've bought in almost a decade and the first ever power supply by them I've ever bought. I am pleasantly surprised by the professionalism EVGA has expressed in this product.

Everything from the aesthetics of the packaging and the unit, to the attention to detail with providing a nifty case for the unit and cables to the overall build quality has been exactly what I've been looking for. EVGA has done itself proud with this product and has set a new standard for which I will look for from whichever company seeks my money in the future.

With this said, there are a couple finer points I want to delve into. Being that this is the FIRST fully modular power supply I've EVER owned, I don't see how I ever got by without before. This made my installation of the unit, other components and the cabling much easier and it didn't feel like I had to handle the unit. This made for a much more hassle-free experience and when it comes to computer builds, anything that helps in this regard is more than welcome.

The second finer point I want to delve into is with regards to the VGA cabling and their associated slots on the unit itself. It should be quite obvious why EVGA did what it did and it had nothing to do with any cool factor, color schemes or anything with regards to cosmetics. By choosing red as the color for the VGA cabling and their respective slots on the unit, EVGA was covering its hide. The reason for this is because quite contrary to many peoples' egos, most people just aren't as smart or tech savvy as they believe themselves to be and at the end of the day, a corporation will do what it can to mitigate the derp moments people have that can lead to the death of a product. So while many people will whine about color schemes and design choices, they have to take into account that not everyone is smart enough to inform themselves before acting and a corporation will do what it takes to mitigate peoples' actions if only to lessen the chance of being liable for something they can't control.

Cons: Now, while I did say a lot about the pros of this power supply, it would not be a balanced review if I didn't mention at least one con. After all there will always be one thing that can be "improved" upon and this power supply is no different.

The one and only con I can think of is the length of the main motherboard cable. It was a bit on the short side. Now I know that the size of a case definitely plays a role in how much play someone has with their cabling. This is the reason why I didn't knock off any points. I have a super tower case where things a bit more spaced out. I cannot blame the company that makes power supplies for cables that are too short if the case I buy is just too big for the length of cables. After all, I made the choice of which case to buy and so, the responsibility of remedying the issue should fall on me.

This isn't a con so to speak but more of a heads up. If you have a super tower case, take heed that some cables from this power supply may or may not be a bit short. As it stands, the responsibility of having longer cables should that are longer than industry standard should fall on the consumer, not the producer.

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend this power supply to anyone who is looking for an all-round rock solid unit. EVGA is a decent corporation to buy power supplies from and I am now looking at them to see what other solutions they have for their other products.
