4 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU for $29.99

Pros: Really cheap. Just $29.99 after a $20 rebate.
80+ bronze!
From relatively reliable manufacturer
3 year warranty

Cons: Would rather get cash compared to Amex gift cards from rebate

Other Thoughts: Really good if you get it for cheap.
I used this for my first build, and it's working great.
Build:
AMD FX-6300 3.5ghz with stock heatsink
4x4GB DDR3 RAM

4 out of 5 eggsGood PSU, but falls a bit short

Pros: For the price, this PSU is one of the best choice for a budget computer, or if you're just needing to replace/upgrade your PSU. It doesn't have that cheap feeling to it a lot of PSUs have at this price range which really surprised me. I am thoroughly satisfied with this power supply and would definitely buy from this company again.

Cons: Although this is a great power supply, it does fall short, kind of literally. The CPU power connector is a bit short. I have to thread it over my GPU just to so it would reach the CPU power header on my motherboard. I would not recommend this PSU for any case larger than mid tower, especially if your motherboard has the CPU power header on the left side, otherwise you might have trouble getting it to reach.

Other Thoughts: Some of the peripheral connectors feel cheaply made and might come out of their plastic coverings.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Value

Pros: Cheap
500Watt Bronze Rated
Normal Size
Good looking
Silent Fan

Cons: Cables are beyond stiff
Cables are short

Other Thoughts: Love this PSU for its value but man the cables in it are beyond stiff making cable management a nightmare on top of having short cables. If it had not been for that I could have made more parts of the PC this PSU went into look better. I still recommend the PSU to people because of its value, but that part with the cables holds it back from being a king.

1 out of 5 eggsLesson Learned

Pros: Nice price, and had rebate

Cons: DOA, never had this happen. From reading other reviews it does happen on many differnt power supplies.

Other Thoughts: Because his is my first build I never thought to check power supply before installing. Also since I was buying pieces over a period of a couple months the 30 day New Egg warranty is past so hopefully dealing with EVGA will be smooth. So always test the power supply when you get it and before you install it.

Manufacturer Response:

3 out of 5 eggsDecent PSU

Pros: Works well - I have had only one outstanding problem with it after 2 months usage. It's pretty small, but it also is non-modular. You'll need room to stick all the cables you don't need somewhere.

Cons: One stupid con - the power cable itself. I don't know if it's just my model, but the PSU cable that goes into the PSU itself is faulty. The head is too small for the opening in the PSU - I literally had to twist my cable in a way so that all three connectors fit correspondingly with the PSU. Time to time the head moves so that the computer receives no power.
Tl;dr Cable head too small for PSU - a lot of manual adjustment needed. I took two eggs off because it happens so frequently and is a pain to fix.

1 out of 5 eggsNo Good

Pros: I haven't seen any.

Cons: Very disappointed in the cheap connectors on this unit. They did not play nicely at all with my system connections. Wound up frying my m/b because the 12v m/b power cable, which appeared to be firmly snapped in place, but fell off on me while I was dressing the cables out. It killed the pci portion.

Other Thoughts: Not worth the risk to your system imho. Do yourself a favor and buy a quality unit.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Craig T.,

I am very sorry to hear that you did have some troubles installing your power supply unit. I can confirm that the cables do have snaps on them and when installed properly they will hold firmly into place. If you should need help with your power supply we are here to help and please call our 24 hour technical support at 1-888-881-3842 option 1 or by email at Newegg@evga.com.
