5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

This review is from: EVGA 100-W1-0430-KR 430W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Continuous Power Supply Intel 4th Gen CPU Ready

Pros: A lot of power to spare. Carries the load comfortably. Fits inside my HP work-horse perfectly.
Exceptionally quiet. What is novel for me is that now I hear only the processor fan, and not the PSU fan
A very generous supply of connectors were provided, and I used most of them.
The mesh on the cables is a nice touch, and so is the included-set of installation screws.

Cons: The wires for the connectors are a bit too stiff, which makes them a bit too hard to handle, place, and connect.
No major drawbacks though

Other Thoughts: I used the Newegg two-day shipping, and so I am off and and running less than 40 hours after I placed the order. Thanks Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsBudget Power Supply that delivers

This review is from: EVGA 100-W1-0430-KR 430W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Continuous Power Supply Intel 4th Gen CPU Ready

Pros: -Powered a pretty decent system with an OC'd graphics card using one Molex-to-PCI 6-pin adapter
-Black sleved cables are a plus at this price point
-Nice black finish
-Quiet performance so far, though will update if I experience fan issues others have

Cons: -No 2nd 6pin PCI power connector. There are R9 270s and GTX 760s this thing can reasonably power with an i3 or i5 that use a 2nd PCI connector
-The label on this unit is peeling. (The one with the serial, model, etc.) Could be an issue if I needed to RMA

Other Thoughts: Bought to replace the ridiculously cheapo power supply in my mother's computer. (Cheap like the $30 with a case) Using in mine for a bit while I RMA my 1050GS. Tested with: i3-4160, Gigabyte R9 270, Seagate 1TB HDD, 2X 500GB HDD. AsRock Extreme 6 Z97 Motherboard.

Had to use the aforementioned molex-to-PCI adapter as this unit only has 1 PCI power plug attached. Still held its own like a champ in a a test run through fallout 4 and about 30 hours of regular use. At this price point, its more about what it doesn't do than what it does, and EVGA didn't make many sacrifices to deliver a very usable 430 watt power supply that is happy to have its boundaries pushed with a sweet spot graphics card.

I didn't like that the serial number label is peeling on my unit so hopefully I don't have to return it.

All in all, very happy with EVGA's offering at this price point. $20 for this much quality is a great deal.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes its job, looks sharp and high quality

This review is from: EVGA 100-W1-0430-KR 430W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Continuous Power Supply Intel 4th Gen CPU Ready

Pros: + The look and feel of the enclosure and cables is high quality
+ Very quiet
+ I can't speak for reliability, but so far so good

Cons: - None

Other Thoughts: The power connections should be suitable for most any single graphics PC. In my opinion there is no need for a higher wattage unit unless you need specific power lines for additional components, such as dual graphics.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU for the price

This review is from: EVGA 100-W1-0430-KR 430W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Continuous Power Supply Intel 4th Gen CPU Ready

Pros: Awesome PSU for the price. 34A single +12V rail and 80 plus certified for under $40, $19.99 with the rebate. Has adequate power for a box with not too much in it. This is my second one and EVGA is one of the only brands I trust in this price range.

***UPDATE 1/19/16***
This PSU has been running flawlessly, running pretty much 24/7 since the date of my original review. My wife uses her computer to play games here and there and movies for our kids so she never really turns it off. I must have got a good unit because others have reported this PSU to die out after several months of usage.

Cons: No cons to mention.

Other Thoughts: For pretty much $20, this PSU can't be beat. Got this for a simple build for my wife's computer which has:
-AMD Athlon 860K (Stock)
-GTX 460 SE 1GB
-4GB Corsair Ballistix DDR3-1600
-128GB Toshiba SSD
-2 X120mm Fans

PSU runs fine, no issues whatsoever.

2 out of 5 eggsStarted out well, done after 8 months

This review is from: EVGA 100-W1-0430-KR 430W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Continuous Power Supply Intel 4th Gen CPU Ready

Pros: Works well, power wise. Provided good functionality for what the build required. All wires are wrapped in a dark mesh looming. Connectors were also good for what we needed.

Cons: After 8 months the fan starting howling louder than I could handle. Cleaning it out did not help, so it has to be replaced despite the fact that it still works. I will not be purchasing another, as this was my try at EVGA PSUs.

Other Thoughts: This came in a build kit. Does serve its purpose, but it is too loud to want to use in a quiet office environment.

4 out of 5 eggsQuiet. Good performer. Pleasantly surprised.

This review is from: EVGA 100-W1-0430-KR 430W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Continuous Power Supply Intel 4th Gen CPU Ready

Pros: This is a great little PSU. I'd previously used a refurb unit (I know, I know, stay away from refurb PSUs) of this model and was impressed with its quality and how quiet it ran. The factory-fresh model lives up to the refurb. I recommend this PSU for budget builds or HTPCs with low power requirements.

Cons: Not modular. Only 80+. But I knew both of these things when I bought it.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid power supply, short cables

This review is from: EVGA 100-W1-0430-KR 430W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Continuous Power Supply Intel 4th Gen CPU Ready

Pros: The power supply appears to be solid and reliable, even with some minor overclocking (750TI + AMD A6-5400K). I originally chose this brand of power supply as EVGA is known for its rock solid supernova power supplies.

Cons: Many of the power connectors are the bare minimum length to reach. The SATA power cables in particular are difficult to stretch to two drives in some cases. It wouldn't have costed them much more to include a few more centimeters in the cable.

Other Thoughts: I was building with this power supply in a Fractal Design Core 1100 case. The SATA power cable was the most frustrating part, forcing me to re-position my DVD drive to accommodate an extra spinning-rust drive.

If you are building in a case with only one HDD/SSD and DVD Drive, you should be fine. If you're trying to squeeze in a few more drives, be mindful of how far apart the drives are going to be.

4 out of 5 eggsJust a bit short of perfect

This review is from: EVGA 100-W1-0430-KR 430W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Continuous Power Supply Intel 4th Gen CPU Ready

Pros: Replaces an old mini-computer I purchased on Newegg many years ago. It is blazing fast in comparison, and will display in 1080 while keeping up with he number of frames required. Amazing what it will do, for a hundred bucks!

Cons: Was built with too little concern for OSs other than Window 7 or 8.1. I chose to run it in Ubuntu 14.04. The WiFi will not continue to handshake in this OS, so I was forced to connect to an Ethernet wire in order to make it work. It now does everything I want, until I attempt to shut it down. Still have to pull the power plug. I suspect it is still locking up due to the incomplete design/support of the Wifi.

Other Thoughts: Will have to look for a BIOS update. Many folks purchase these little computers for lesser purposes and don't want to spend just as much money for an overly bloated OS. Ubuntu uses up a little over 6 gigs on the installed 120 gig SSD. The bottom line is that I am happy with the purchase, however. This little fella delivers what I desire.
