2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -It works
-Price

Cons: -Noisy as hell
-Caused SIGNIFICANT coil whine while gaming

Other Thoughts: When I first got it, most games I played caused my computer to make a horrible buzzing noise (better known as coil whine). For about 4 months I assumed it was my faulty graphics card, until I started looking into the issue. Someone suggested trying a new power supply. So I swapped this one out with a different model, and the noise completely vanished.

I'm giving 2 eggs because it functioned for the 6 months that I used it, but I would not recommend.

3 out of 5 eggsShould I complain for the price?

Pros: It works and is solidly built, and the components inside are all new. If they hold up, 700+ watts should be all the overhead I'll ever need. And the mfg warranty is a full year, which gives me some time...

Cons: 1) The cables are short and bulky, literally, restricting airflow. Two of the four VGA cables are hardwired, you have to live with that. If I had known... AND

2) The fan WHINES. It's not real bad, but it is audible...def NOT for a silent HTPC. HUGE disappointment. If only I'd known...

Other Thoughts: Again, the price made this buy irresistible. And who knows, it may last forever, or I may buy a second vidcard, or both...

I would rate lower but it would have to blow up first. <KOW>

4 out of 5 eggsPrice was Right, under $60.

Pros: Works. Adds 3 more SATA connections and should provide plenty of overhead for my rig. And who knows, I may even Crossfire someday.

Cons: SATA and Molex cables are shorter than my last psu (Antec 550 Plus 80) but they made it. I can swap them out, but I shouldn't have too.

The Fan Whines. It's not real bad but it is audible. My case (Corsair 550D) was silent before this. If you want a silent HTPC this is not it.

The cabling barfs. Waaaaay too much clutter! Despite being shorter all the cables are thicker (more insulation I guess) and interfere with airflow from front to back on the bottom (but then, so do my four HDD's). Again, it's not that bad and you can always design your way around it but it was disappointing when realized it. They should have just made this a fully-modular unit.

Other Thoughts: Longevity and stability is the mark of a quality PSU and the jury is still out. This is one heavy-duty unit though. It had some nicks on arrival but minor and inside looks all brand new, and feels as if it could take a real beating. I will run this for a few more weeks then put it away and make it my backup. Again, for under $60 it could be a steal.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat value

Pros: Heavy. Nice construction. Quality parts (I opened it up). Came with all the cables and screws. No fancy stuff though.

Cons: Cables could be longer.

Other Thoughts: Package was severely crushed on one side, but everything seems to have made it through intact.
