5 out of 5 eggsQuiet, Cool-Running, Efficient, Fully Modular

This review is from: EVGA SuperNOVA 220-P2-0650-X1 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular continuous Power Supply

Pros: Fully modular
Runs cool
Runs quiet
High efficiency

Cons: Kinda pricey

Other Thoughts: After putting a different EVGA PS in a new build for my wife and seeing how well it performed, I picked up this one for my system. The $20 rebate at the time helped make this more affordable though it still isn't cheap. But sometimes you get what you pay for.

Here's what I like:
- It's quiet. My stock Intel CPU fan makes more noise than this PS.
- It runs cool. Some power supplies are like a little space heater. Not this one.
- Fully modular. No extraneous cords!

I would buy this again either as an upgrade or for a new build.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product, great build quality, shoddy quality control?

This review is from: EVGA SuperNOVA 220-P2-0650-X1 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular continuous Power Supply

Pros: Fantastic build quality
Great modular cables
Very quiet.
Arrived DOA, but fortunately the RMA process was straight forward.

Cons: First product arrived DOA. No physical damage, so I suspect that it never worked and was never tested. Fortunately, EVGA support approved an immediate RMA. Unfortunately, I had to wait 8 days for my replacement PSU to arrive. Which means I spent 8 days without a working computer.

Other Thoughts: I really wish EVGA would either ship replacement devices quicker, or somehow try to compensate the customer. I had an entire computer built and ready, waiting 8 days for a replacement PSU to arrive.
I also spent several hours troubleshooting, and had to pull apart my old computer to mix and match components until I confirmed the EVGA PSU was to blame. My office looked like a a complete mess for 8 days until I could finally get everything working again.

5 out of 5 eggsamazing!

This review is from: EVGA SuperNOVA 220-P2-0650-X1 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular continuous Power Supply

Pros: Modular
Sleeved cables
Platinum efficiency
Very high quality
10 year warranty
Cheap when on sale (got it for $80)

Cons: Cpu cable has two 8 pin connectors on it which isn't needed on a 650w power supply, and it looks ugly

Was really disappointed that I had to either twisty tie both 8 pins together or have a random 8 pin in the middle of the cable

Didn't take away any eggs because of how good it performs

1 out of 5 eggsDestroyer of PCs

This review is from: EVGA SuperNOVA 220-P2-0650-X1 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular continuous Power Supply

Pros: None

Cons: Destroyed 2 entirely different PCs

Other Thoughts: Replaced my Rosewill 650w Gold PSU with this one and it just fried my PC. I had to RMA my motherboard and RAM. I tested it on two entirely different PCs and it fried both and had a horrible fan whine. Fortunately, every single part was RMA'd by the manufacturer. It still cost me quite a bit on shipping and Newegg didn't help at all on that front. I am avoiding EVGA from now on. I did however order a new Rosewill Platinum 650w PSU and that works fine.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsThe best PSU ever

This review is from: EVGA SuperNOVA 220-P2-0650-X1 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular continuous Power Supply

Pros: Just build my first PC. This PSU is amazing. Quiet as can be, powerful and reliable

Cons: Costed me money (but if you wait for a sale, I got this guy for about $60)

Other Thoughts: Would highly recommend Evga's P2/G2 series. Amazing and durable. Great warranty too!

5 out of 5 eggsBoss

This review is from: EVGA SuperNOVA 220-P2-0650-X1 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular continuous Power Supply

Pros: Well made..great reviews...quiet...clean...rebate was one of my better experiences.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: I put one of these in a Lenovo TS-140. The small amount of room called for a modular psu and this unit was just right. I don't get why a couple people are itchy over a couple of connectors when even a cursory review of features before purchase would have provided enough info. Seems funny to buy a psu and then complain about something minor featured in dozens of photos and reviews around the web

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: EVGA SuperNOVA 220-P2-0650-X1 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular continuous Power Supply

Pros: I live off grid, on solar power and this power supply is really efficient, meaning less power loss. This in turn, means the backup generator runs less often. Even though I've only have this device (and my new computer) for about a week, I have noticed significant power savings.

Cons: price: obviously better parts need better components, so I would EXPECT this to be more expensive, still price was more than I thought it would be.

1 out of 5 eggsDead after 90 days

This review is from: EVGA SuperNOVA 220-P2-0650-X1 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular continuous Power Supply

Pros: Worked out of the box.
Worked fine up until today.

Cons: Got home, powered up the system.
Got one click.
Did the standard troubleshooting - no effect.
Plugged in my old 6 year old PS, worked like a charm.
Filled out RMA, we'll see how it goes.

Other Thoughts: Not pleased. For the price and quality this thing is supposed to have, to die after 3 months . . . makes me question the brand. Let's hope the RMA restores some faith.

3 out of 5 eggsGREAT PSU

This review is from: EVGA SuperNOVA 220-P2-0650-X1 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular continuous Power Supply

Pros: this is a great power supply and if you can find it on sale like i did you should buy it. really silent and will power most system with one to two graphics cards.

Cons: the only thing wrong with this power supply is the selection of cables would have hope it came with different cables for ecxample the gpu cables come with a 6+2 and another 6 pin iin the same cable and the cpu comes with a 4+4 and a 8 so makes my system too messy

Other Thoughts: even with the cons for the price on which i got this psu im willing to over look that

Manufacturer Response:
