5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: New Build: AMD A10 5800K 100watt CPU; ASUS F2 A85-V PRO Mobo; 8 GB Kingston HyperX 1600 DIMM. Crucial 240 GB SSD. Although mostly used for gaming, I haven't seen the need for a dedicated graphics card yet, but this PSU has ample reserve power if I decide to add one later. I've overclocked the system 24% and all the critical voltages are steady. The PSU fan is very quiet. Amply supplied with connectors. Construction just looks high quality, overall. For this price, I think it would be hard to beat.

Cons: None, so far, but I've only used it for a short time.

Other Thoughts: I was looking for a PS to replace one in my gaming computer that blew (literally) during a power surge due to a faulty surge-supressing power strip. After installing the new PS, I found the Mobo was gone also, and possible other components as well. So, I decided to rebuild from scratch with all new components. I figured 500 watts was sufficient for the system I wanted but I didn't want to go "high end." I came across this PSU and it seemed to fill the bill.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: The PSU in my HTPC died after a few years of 24/7 use and I got a great deal on this unit. Nothing special but it just works and does what It needs to.

Tested it before it was installed and after 72 hours of load testing everything looked great. So far, after about a week of use, I have no complaints.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: There are a lot of "budget" power supplies at this price point. Make sure you do your research on what the unit can do and what you need it to do. A poorly selected power supply can ruin a PC.

5 out of 5 eggsworks great

Pros: Works great, put this in my wifes new apevia x-qpack case, with its smaller profile.
Powers everything greatly. for what its needed for.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: If you need a decent psu and cant afford top names like corsair and the like this psu works great for htpc builds and light gaming rigs. Has pcie connector and will power mid range cards had it powering an amd radeon hd 6750 card no issues.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Buy This

Pros: It comes in a pretty box.

Cons: I've purchased 3 of these thru Newegg. All three failed within the first month. The last failure was catastrophic; it lasted all of two days before it literally exploded in a flash of blue sparks and white smoke, taking the motherboard and CPU with it. Spend a few bucks extra and buy a better PSU; you'll save money in the long run.

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong

Pros: Has been running my quad core system with 5 internal and one external hard drives plus a GeForce 9800GTX for 7 months problem free

Cons: needed a few more connectors but only due to me having 5 drives

Other Thoughts: purchased this as an emergency replacement after my high end power supply died of old age, great price and best bang for your buck, has performed flawlessly and I highly recommend it for a mid range PC

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Absolutely beautiful.
Well constructed, except for side panels (see cons).
Huge amounts of space.
Rubber grommets.
Side windows.
Fan filter (see cons).
Easy to remove grills.
Dual chamber.
SSD cage (see cons).
High quality Corsair fans.
Lots of water cooling support.
Hot swap bays (see cons).
Adjustable PSU support.
Pre-installed motherboard standoffs.
Safe packaging (see cons)

Cons: Kind of flimsy side panels.
Only a single fan filter. Two more, one for the top and for the PSU, are greatly needed at this price range.
SSD cage accommodates four and only four 2.5" drives, no more, no less. I have not found a way to remove unnecessary slots, if there is one.
I attempted to install my Kingston SSD in one of the hot swap bays. It fit correctly, but the port could not reach the hot swap port on the case. Not sure if this is Corsair's fault or Kingston's, so I didn't consider this in my final egg total.
When I opened up the case, I noticed that the SSD cage had come off, and was rattling around the case. I also discovered a piece of plastic that had snapped off, but I don't think it's done any harm. FedEx's fault though, so not factored in.

Other Thoughts: In conclusion, this is a great case with a few minor flaws. If this case were about $100 or so, it would be absolutely perfect, but $140 commands a little more. Overall, a great case, especially to go on a desk. Spend your money on it.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: Good price
High Wattage
24 pin and 8 pin cpu cables have nicer sleeving on them

Cons: A little loud when you put it into a smaller space. I never noticed noise in my old nzxt source 210 but in my bitfenix prodigy it is the loudest component.
