5 out of 5 eggs...8)

Pros: thing is amazing was a little intimated to plug this in my wall love it personally I think one of the best money can buy and for anyone who looks at this and is thinking about buying this should i saw the 2 one eggs not at all reliable this does fit in a modern case I think that guy got a bit mixed up I have Thermaltake Chaser MK-I and plenty of room to spare and its not that old... its a FULL case not mid and not small so if your thinking about buying one for those size cases really check your mid case I know some run a bit bigger then others but small probably wont fit at all but if your building a GAMING RIG you'll have a full case to fit everything with ease and the power switch isnt a big deal like the guy below said "People complain about the lack of an on/off switch. Power down your machine correctly. If you're working on your desktop, unplug it completely and discharge the power like you should". his exact words and hes right

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: the only thing is new egg should get rid of elect self tech knowledge because i find that some people lie about having tech know how mines a bit more then average because i like pc gaming so you have to do some home work on building a nice gaming rig but i cant get over the dude saying this DOESN'T fit modern cases and he gave himself a somewhat high score i dont think he knows his a.. from his elbow

5 out of 5 eggsPOWER!

Pros: Highest power PSU I've seen to date
Lower cost than even 1200watt units
High Quality packaging
Gold Certified
Fully Modular

Cons: Modular cables are very stiff and require some finger muscles to attach to the PSU
Power cable is unique(I think), good luck finding a replacement outside of LEPA

Other Thoughts: So far, extremely impressed with this PSU. Tons of power, currently running two HD 5970s(non-crossfire). I will be adding one, possibly two more into this machine and I have no doubt that this PSU will be able to handle all four even though each will be drawing about 300watts.

The box is enormous! But when you open it up, you'll see why. Two individual compartments neatly store all your cables to this fully modular system.

The unique 3 prong power cable feels well built and is quite heavy.

People complain about the lack of an on/off switch. Power down your machine correctly. If you're working on your desktop, unplug it completely and discharge the power like you should.

5 out of 5 eggsUniversal Balance

Pros: I'm just here to balance out some stupidity.

Power switches are not required. If fully necessary they would have been installed. If you really want one, mod it!

Cons: None as far as I can tell.

Other Thoughts: I have plans for one of these... mATX 3 way sli. That is all.

5 out of 5 eggsstill going strong

Pros: update to my review on 9/30 and BOTH my G1600 and G900 are still going strong and working flawlessly, g1600 is running my tri-sli/dedicated physics overclocked 980x rig without missing a beat and is running 12 to 14 hours a day.

Cons: people whing about no power switch or doesnt fit thier case ( again quit using mid size and smaller cases cause this psu will be overkill for a system in one of those sized cases)

Other Thoughts: still running strong no issues at all (other than the ignorant whiners with their no power switch/doesnt fit my case gripes, which again i will state this is meant for HIGH end systems not mid range systems), mid range systems typically found in mid sized cases while high end system (3x/4x/3x+ dedicated physics/CFX rigs with lots of fans or watercooling will be found in FULL sized towers. and as an FYI the G1600 is similar or same size as G900 watt (which G900 watt fit fine in my old casedge diabolic minotaur case that i just retired after MANY years)

5 out of 5 eggsOozes Quality

Pros: Very pleased with this purchase. Powers my 3970X, multi-GPU setup without any issues. This thing can power pretty much anything you can throw at it. Gorgeous sandblasted coat of carbon colored paint on the outside. Heavy, feels like a quality piece of equipment. Attractive and powerful. The best of both worlds.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Excellent product and somehow cheaper than the corsair hx 1200 which is obviously 400W less potent?? Both are 80 plus gold. Not sure how that works.

1 out of 5 eggswhere is the power switch

Pros: 1600W

Cons: @%$@^%$@#%& no Power switch... WHAT?!!!!Who designs these.

Other Thoughts: I would of loved to buy one of these BUT...see above

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Please rest assured that our PSUs are made with safety and quality in mind. The power switch is left out on this unit is due to concerns for heat dissipation. The G1600 is made very compact, and needs every cooling space available. The switch is removed due to this and the fact that it has various protections and ErP Lot 6 which regulates power consumption, it is perfectly safe to use. If you have further questions regarding this or any other Lepa products, please contact us. Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsBeast of a PSU and plenty of headroom for 2 systems

Pros: A solid 1600 watts of juice and every bit of power & the average user will never use. Fair length vs other PSUs from the past like the Koolance 1700.
You can bet your... cash... it's future proof!

Cons: Know your case and PSU orientation before you jump...
My cases are fine, but I know some will make you peeved.
1600 Watts is very close to a problem... see note below!

Other Thoughts: The PSU is perfect for a new build and not many manufacturers push it to the level LEPA has "for very long." The problem is due to the fact that home low end power, 110V - 120V can not supply current to power for loads that hit the wall at 1700+ watts. Thus making 220V - 240V an actual requirement for a full load @ 1700 watts.
So, please do not call this a 1700 watt PSU... it is a "1600 watt" PSU that is fully capable at that load for a reason. It is spec's and tested by independent labs for the full 1600 watts and not a penny more.
I would suggest you buy one and get this over with asap if you're into heavy metal... not many come like this.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it does, a 1700 watt PSU max, not 1600!

Pros: Max power rating of 1700 Watts! I can use it to supply enough power to 4 6990s in bitcoin mining, maybe 4 7990 when they are released. Plenty of cables and connectors to supply power you need for your next few builds. Very quiet, not much heat produced, I have it installed in a Thermaltake level 10 GTS. Less power drained at the wall compared to previous power supply (~100 watts less vs Corsair 1200 AX)

Cons: Not many cons, but it comes with its own compatible cable, other power cables will not work. The cables are not very flexible, but they still bend, this is expected since a wider cable allows more current to flow through to a device, so not egg deduction since its obvious.

Other Thoughts: I think this is a good investment, buy a 1600 watt (1700 w) psu to last many years to come and many builds; I have had it for one month and it is beyond my expectation. The extra power allows more headroom to overclock and raise voltages if desired for installed components.

1 out of 5 eggs1600w and useless

Pros: Was like pulling out a brick of shining gold, you could smell the quality on this psu.

Cons: Its useless.....absolutely useless because some genius failed to modify it to fit modern cases. In order for me to use this I would have to turn it upside down and twist the cables.

Its my fault for not looking, but who the hell puts out the most powerful psu you can find and uses old case standards....

Other Thoughts: This thing has a beautiful presentation, its amazing when you first pull it out of the box. Despite it being designed for older cases, I figured its worth checking with their support to see if this will run upside down.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize that your PSU did not work the way you wanted to. Please contact our support so that we can try to help with your issue. Thank you for purchasing our product.
