5 out of 5 eggsExcellent choice

Pros: Reliable

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've had this PSU in an 800d with proper ventilation for almost 2 years now and it has never failed or even dimmed. I have to say, if you RTM and balance your high draw appliances all on separate rails, while keeping it cool, this will never die.

5 out of 5 eggsBest of the best

Pros: This is powering an asrock x79 extreme 11 with a 3960x hexcore clocked at 4.4 with 32gb ram, 480gb pcie ssd ,13 hds ,dvdrw ,dual tv tuner ,wifi ,extra serial card only 1 video card at the moment , 14 fans with a complete water cooling system with no problems at all. This will last me a life time since it's at a homes max circuit power. It is also very easy to rebuild if a capacitor ever fails, just google it.

Cons: Wires are a little stiff but that's expected with heavy wires. No switch is not a con! It's the right way to build this beast!

Other Thoughts: Spend the money for this and never have to buy another psu!

5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid

Pros: I've been running this PSU with 780's in SLI, overclocked 9590, Crosshair Formula Z mobo, 6 mechanical drives, 2 SSD's, 11 fans, and a D5 pump.

I've tripped the over current protection, and the short circuit protection due to stupidity.

This PSU has survived a motherboard fire.

This PSU is also still powering the rig used to write this review.

Cons: The modular connectors are a bit hard to connect, especially with the PSU already installed and not having a large work area.

But it does make a very secure connection due to that so that's a pro at the same time.

I've overloaded individual rails before. I don't fully understand the rail layout, and no documentation really helps me with that. I do not know which connectors share rails with others.

Other Thoughts: Due to how stupid I've been with this thing, it should be dead. But it isn't.

I don't understand the low rating overall for this PSU. It's been more than I ever expected throughout my ownership of it.

1 out of 5 eggsHORRIBLE IN EVERY WAY!!!

Pros: Was fine when it worked...

Cons: Failed 3 times in the last month!!! RMA service is by far the worst I have ever used. They leave feedback on newegg to contact them for assistance, however it would be more helpful to just use your PSU as a paper weight!!! They do not respond back to emails or calls. When you do get your PSU back it won’t be the same model and it will be a used scratched unit with no serial # sticker so you can't do another RMA!!!

Other Thoughts: DON"T BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsOver a Year and no problems

Pros: This power supply has preformed flawless even in 100 degree California heat running 24/7 only take down to do maintenance or installs. The switch problem that everyone cries about is not a problem at all just made a plug in switch from the cable to the power supply with an old cable end and some 12 gauge three wire from a scrap bin at work Fixed done..

Cons: None to date.

Other Thoughts: I would like to have a stronger fan but I just have enough cooling fans already in the case so not a problem.

1 out of 5 eggsRMA Replacement Died

Pros: 1600 Watts and Gold Certified

Cons: I did not like that this unit does not have a power switch, other than that I thought the specs on this were incredibly competitive, but with my unit, I have yet to be able really experience that as I have had two total PSU failures.causing me not to have a good experience in trying to work with it.

My first unit died within the first few days of usage, and I went through the RMA and my replacement just died after a week and a half of operation.

Any downtime on systems without redundant power supplies is always painful, and my first RMA support response took 3 days to to receive a response. In contrast my 2nd RMA request took only 2 hour to receive a response. I think they actually repaired the unit that I had sent them as there was a "repaired" sticker on it. Ground shipping both ways, has caused downtime for me.

Other Thoughts: This is the only PSU I have seen without a toggle power switch

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the inconvenience. Your case is being handled by our RMA department. The current status is they are waiting for your confirmation. Please respond their request via the helpdesk where you created the RMA.

We tested all replacement power supply before shipping them out. Since you mentioned the replacement power supply did ran for a week or so, we would like to investigate if there is any known issue with the hardware that you are using. Please provide us the spec of your build so that we can help to identify the real cause.

In additional, Due to recent popularity of bitcoin mining, we realized many customers are running multi GPU setup (Ex: 3 or more R9 290X) with one single power source without realizing the multi GPU setup is drawing more power than the power supply can provide, which greatly shortened PSU life span. We would like to help you to determine the problem, please kindly provide the spec of your build at your earliest convenience.

4 out of 5 eggsThey work well

Pros: Works well at it's rated limits. I have used this in a few of my builds. I have never had RMA issues that other have had. (cough I read the manual) This has more than enough power to supply 4 SSD 2 290X cards and intel 4930k @ 4.25 I tried to keep it conservitive.

Cons: I have to say the cables are a bit stiff and hard to manuver around. But I split them apart and did some custom cabling for a better look.

Other Thoughts: People that are constatly RMAing this power supply. If you RTM you will find it is rated for 100% draw @ 40C. So yes as this PSU heats up it will not supply as much or stable power. (go figure) I think LEPA should have put a 140mm fan in this as opposed to its 135mm and bump the CFM to 130 -140 as opposed to the 108 stock fan.
