This review is from: LEPA B550-MB 550W ATX 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Hybrid Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Looked great
Ran well for a day

Cons: Tried turning on my rig and heard a loud pop sound.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Power Supply for the price

This review is from: LEPA B550-MB 550W ATX 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Hybrid Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I Caught this 550W PS with a $15 rebate which made for a good sale. It runs quiet and efficiently. Being semi-modular was a plus, only motherboard 24 pin and 4 pin cables are hard wired and you need those anyway.

Cons: The rubber material around the LEPA is interesting but I had to take it off as because the unit would not get into its position otherwise. It's an interesting accessory but unless you have a case that can account for it, there's not much use.

The assortment of cables it comes with aren't the best. Some of them seemed hard to get plugged in to their sockets while also being prone to loosening which seemed strange. I though it was DOA at first before triple checking everything, the cables were that sensitive.

But the real reason I took an egg off was the lousy daisy-chained style PCIe cable. It's cheaply made, a pain to plug in my 6+6 pin GPU. After finally getting it to work, it looked ugly and un

Other Thoughts: I think LEPA could have seriously taken out some of the other little accessories it came with to throw in for a few decent PCIe hook-ups. But the semi-modular design, 80+ Bronze certification mixed with the overall price makes this a good buy for the money.

5 out of 5 eggsLEPA B550-MB

This review is from: LEPA B550-MB 550W ATX 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Hybrid Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Modular.
Quiet.
Expansive enough for later reworks if I replace or add more to my system.

Cons: None that I have experienced.

Other Thoughts: I was replacing a not so old 600W that died and never did seem to give the claimed power.

I searched through a long list of power supplies and settled on this model from LEPA.

It was fully modular, had a little less power than what I wanted, but was one of the only companies that fully listed all aspects of the power supply and left no questions on "will this work for me?".

I will say it was not my original first choice, but after I read up on all other products, it was the best choice for me.

I am pleased with this product.

4 out of 5 eggsLEPA 550W PSU

This review is from: LEPA B550-MB 550W ATX 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Hybrid Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: *Modular.

*Running an i5-4670K (84W) and a MSI GeForce GTX660 (Min. 550W PSU) without any issues so far.

Cons: The red lining in the pictures is actually a rubber-like fitting that is sitting over the PSU. It makes the PSU look better, but this fitting made it hard to fit the PSU into my mid-tower case without having to bend the divider between the PSU and MOBO. I also had to apply a lot of force while screwing it in.

Other Thoughts: I could have easily taken the fitting off, but one of the reasons I bought the power supply was to stick with the RED/BLACK theme of my build.

The rubber fitting may fit easier with bigger cases, but you can still make it work with the fitting; just be prepared to apply some force.
