Use these mainly for Xbox 360 backups, very little problems. Very good price.

1 out of 5 eggsStay Away

Pros: Nice wrapper, Fast Newegg delivery.

Cons: 100% incompatible with my Lite-On burner, Win 7, 64 bit. What more can I say. They don't work.

Other Thoughts: Why should we be the guinea pigs and spend $200 trying to find a compatible brand? Why don't the manufacturers test this stuff, (wanted to use another word but not allowed), and tell us what burners they work with? I think I'll save my money and forgo DL burning for awhile.

2 out of 5 eggsGood if you get a good batch

Pros: When they work they work very well at the full 8x write speed.

Cons: 4/5 Discs did not work until I got about 2/3 of the way down the spindle, then 100% worked and worked flawlessly. So more than 1/2 the discs were bad.

Other Thoughts: Buy at your own risk. According to the other reviews, I seem to have gotten the end (or beginning) of a bad batch. At first I thought it was my older NEC 2510A burner, so I replaced it with a brand new Lite-On (rebranded NEC model, can't remember the # offhand), no dice. Also did not work in my recent Macbook Pro. Tried with various software (both PC & Mac), compiling to ISO first, and every firmware I could get my hands on (for both PC drives). The discs were just plain bad (until I made it through 2/3 of them and every single one worked flawlessly). I personally don't think I'll be buying another set of these.

On the upside, I got very very good at flinging the discs across the room like frisbees accurately into the wastebasket. lol.

1 out of 5 eggsNever Investing In Memorex Again

Pros: Shipping time.

Cons: Thus far, 8/8 discs I've attempted to burn have returned as coasters. My computer has an Optiarc BD ROM BC-5500S ATA DVD drive. I have checked for all available updates and everything is current. I have attempted to write to these discs using both DVDFab 8.0.0.5 and ImgBurn 2.5.2.0 and both programs failed to write at 50% completion.

Other Thoughts: Thanks for being so cheap Memorex. Here's to 40 new coasters...

5 out of 5 eggs500+ Burns, maybe 2 coasters.

Pros: These are completely worth the prices I've seen in the last two years. One of the two failures I had was my fault. I've burned the vast majority of mine @ 6X in modern Samsung burners (i.e. the burner cost less than the 50 Pack). Can be read in any Philips drive (LiteON, BenQ) in a gaming console.

Cons: Cons? I'll have to digress from 50 packs as all 50 packs I've bought were Ritek discs. All smaller packs can be manufactured by Ritek, Ricoh (just as good), or Moser Baer (worthless with LG drives). Only 50% of my burns work in gaming console drives manufactured by Hitachi (which are rare now days).

Other Thoughts: IT WOULD BE A SERVICE TO ALL IF THOSE WRITING NEGATIVE REVIEWS WOULD INCLUDE BASIC INFORMATION SUCH AS DVD WRITER MODEL AND AGE, AND THE MEDIA ID ON THE DISC. That said any competent burning app will have some of making the media ID available. imgburn works great for this and its free. Any that doesn't is a crud app. Also as a general guide note if you paid more for your burner five years ago than you did for these discs two weeks ago then you may want to spring for a new burner BEFORE your fifth coaster.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Problems (using a Sony Drive)

Pros: Just burned 5 bit perfect copies on Linux (Ubuntu 9.04) using the stock Brasero disk burner. No coasters. 58 cents a burn!

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I notice several people have had problems that seem to be DVD drive manufacturer related. Somebody suggested Sony Optitrack works well. My drive is an old Sony VRD-VC20.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great DL dvds... hardly have a bad dvd, if so it was my fault. I have burnt over 300 of these discs and I would say I have a 99% good standing. Price is also great all the time. These are the main ones I buy.

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggsBest for the money

Pros: This is the same brand (memorex) of blank media that I have been using for years. They work; quality is satisfactory if not above satisfactory. I've only had one problem with a 50 spindle pk (dvd+r DL) among the five or six DL spindles that I have ever bought. For the value, you can't beat it.

Cons: Perhaps not as reliable and more prone to malfunctions compared to Verbatim competition. But for the value, you can afford to have some discs fail on you and still be a better value than the overpriced competitors.

Other Thoughts: ehh....

5 out of 5 eggsNear Perfect!

Pros: These DVD's are almost perfect. I rarely have failed burns on either movies, games, or data. I have not noticed any decrease in quality on either my HD monitor or HD TV. These have worked on ASUS, Lite-On and Sony DL DVD burners and I have burned serval hundred of these. Also if you are getting a lot of failed burns, try to slow down your burn speed. I usally burn at either 4x or 6x.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure why so many people seem to have issues with these DVD's but maybe you need to do a firmware update.....or your hardware is just junk.
