Memorex Ink Jet Printable Surface CD-Rs allow you to print directly onto CD-R discs using direct printing ink jet printers, providing a professional disc print.
Pros: I don't own an inkjet printer that supports printable CDs; I use these for archiving my retail CDs to prolong and maintain media longevity. Inkjet surface is perfect for writing on and the surface retains permanent ink extremely well with zero ink bleed. I prefer these to Memorex standard CD-R media solely because of the blank white surface. I enjoy the look of a blank, white surface with sharpie on it and these don't seem to suffer as badly from the foil peeling so badly in the sun/hot car.
Cons: Some CD-RW drives will not write to these at the maximum rated speed no matter the drive firmware version. This is not so as much of a "con" as a I'm not usually in a hurry to copy anything.
Other Thoughts: This type of media is perfect for limited releases of an album. I could see these used for "limited runs" of DIY demo recordings. The plain white surface makes it easy to do one-of-a-kind label art directly on the disc.
