2 out of 5 eggsNot so good anymore.

Pros: If you are using these discs for backing up data and archieving data they'll work great for you, but it's best to burn at a slower speed and verifiy your data so it lasts a while.

Cons: If you're making movie videos a lot of Blu Ray players won't recognize them anymore. When I used to buy their discs a couple years ago I could make movies or back up my old movie and my Blu Ray home theater system would read with them no issues. The lasy spindel I bought all failed to read on my Blu Ray player. I even tried the burned BD-Rs to other Blu Ray players and had the same results. I'm not sure, but I think they change their manufacture format because the disc IDs are now different on Imgburn.

Other Thoughts: If you're buying these to achieve computer data they'll be fine in my opinion as long as you burn at slower speeds and verify your data. If you're making movies or backing up your old DVD or Blu Ray movies I find them to be useless.

4 out of 5 eggsUpgraded to new Burner.

Pros: These discs seem to work fine on the newer LG BH16NS40 Blu-ray burner. Not sure why the older burner mentioned in my previous review produced the 100% failure rate with these discs. Maybe a newer BD-R profile?

Cons: Seem to be heavily dependent on burner compatibility.

1 out of 5 eggsAbsolute junk!

Pros: Cheap

Cons: 100% failure rate, even at 2x in my LG BH10LS30 using ImgBurn and Cyberlink Power2Go HE Six coasters out of 6 tries, all failed at different points during the burn.

Other Thoughts: The only other Blu-ray media I had on hand to test my burner were three BD-RE's (MID:SONY-ES1-002). All three burned perfectly. Well, you get what you pay for. Back to Verbatim's I guess. The price of Verbatims is WORTH it! I wish I knew how to avoid Ritek media BEFORE purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat's the fuss?

Pros: I don't know what all the problem is with these discs. In the year that I have had my LG BluRay drive, I have burned about 70 of these Memorex 6x discs and at least 120 of the 4x discs and have had a total of - count 'em - one (1) coaster from a 6x and zero from the 4x. I do take the precaution of burning at slower speeds than the drive wants to, and I also verify the data, but other than that, no special precautions and the firmware has never been updated, either.

Cons: None, although I wouldn't mind if they were cheaper, but for over 20 gigs of storage per disc, I'm not going to complain.

Other Thoughts: Just like some guns only like certain ammo, maybe your drives prefer certain brands of discs. I can only report the experience I've had, and I have no reason to stretch the truth. Believe me, if they didn't work for me, I'd tell you that, too. But, as with all things in life, YMMV.

1 out of 5 eggsBad BD-R

Pros: Looks Good and Thick

Cons: Have had several bad BD's and I am only have way through them. Never had issues with any other BD and have used several brands. Will never buy Memorex again. Not worth the time and money.

5 out of 5 eggsJust my good luck?

Pros: Never a coaster. Affordable.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I've been using Memorex BD-R for a couple of years and burned over 100 discs and not one was a coaster. Not one!

I bought a spindle of regular Verbatims (not the LTH type) and 20% were flawed. They passed verification but has pauses and jumps in the same places during playback on all three of my standalone blu-ray players. Let this be a warning to you all that burn verification is no guarantee of a successful burn.

What's interesting is that both the Memorex and Verbatim BD-R's I purchased were identified as Ridata.

I always use ImgBurn, I burn at 4X even though the discs are rated higher. No other programs are running. I even disconnect the network cable and disable the antivirus program. Overcautious? So what?

1 out of 5 eggsWhy oh why didn't I take the BLUE pill?

Pros: Newegg surprised me with the expedient shipping time.

Cons: I should have just listened to you all. Like so many others, I thought "Nah, they just don't know what they're talking about." So, I foolishly bought these discs, even after reading all of your warnings and cautions about them. Yet, I too fell victim to these bad discs. I have even updated the firmware on my drive to the latest version and ensured that my exact burner model was listed on the Memorex list of verified burners for this media. Yet, the discs fail every time. You were right. I should've just taken the blue pill and listened to you.

Other Thoughts: I suppose you could say I have learned a very valuable lesson. That lesson would be when our community says that these discs are bad, believe them. You guys aren't wasting your time posting a review because you have nothing better to do with your time.

Who knows? Maybe Memorex will see that we are all having issues with this media and make the needed changes for the next batch. Then again, it's that same blind hope that got me in this mess to begin with.

Now off to buy another brand.....

Hey, anyone want to buy a spindle of coasters from me?? I'll sell them to you real cheap!!!

4 out of 5 eggsgood media

Pros: burn faster than rated speed

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: have only burned 1 disk but was able to burn at 10x without a hitch, only gave 4 stars because I have to wait & see if disk is still readable down the road

5 out of 5 eggsGreat so far

Pros: I've gone through a 30 pack with no coasters, and all data is still intact several months later.

Cons: No cons yet.

Other Thoughts: I plan on buying more.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible Media

Pros: I could get them to burn if I instructed the burner to run at 4x

Cons: These failed when allowing imgburn to write data at default (fastest) speed. Once I figured out to burn as slow as possible, they would burn but would verify as slow as 1x which is worrisome; I do not expect these to last very long or be reliable. I was trying to save a buck, you get what you pay for, buyer beware.

Other Thoughts: Manufacturer ID on these is RITEK-BR3-000 - keep away from these.
