5 out of 5 eggsThank you cougar

Pros: I've abused this thing over the last 5 years.. multiple builds including Crossfire setups with high end video cards. The rails are always good. Thanks for the great PSU.

Very Quiet

I actually like the coloring.

Cons: none!

2 out of 5 eggsOK, can't recommend

Pros: 1- Love the look!
2- Cable management is nice!
3- Still going.

Cons: 1- Fan noise, maybe bearing? From month 2 on (almost 2 years now) have had an on and off buzz from this Power Supply. Early on a tap on the case around the P/S would take care of it for a bit. Now it's constant on power on.

Other Thoughts: Really wanted to like this P/S. The buzzing sound is louder than any fans in my system. Even though it's still in my machine because I really don't want to put another one in unless it dies, I cannot recommend this P/S.

5 out of 5 eggsCant wait for this to get here...

Pros: Beautiful finish and color. Sleeved cabling, Modular, Good wattage, 79.99 on sale, 140mm fan.

Cons: Not fully modular. None others. Hopefully it works like its supposed to as some reviewers have gotten them DOA, though i am willing to bet some of these are at fault of the reviewer and not the PSU.

Other Thoughts: When i get this power supply it has quite a task to fulfill.
Its going to be in a Black with Orange trim NZXT Phantom (matches is beautifully)

Its going to need to power:
i5 3570k OC'd to 4.5ghz
Samsung 830 256gb SSD
8GB Mushkin Blackline DDR3 @ 1600mhz 8-8-8-22
MSI Z77-G55 motherboard
Numerous case fans 120mm-200mm
1TB Caviar Blue HDD
And a Sapphire Radeon 7950 3gb OC edition Dual-X graphics card.

I had a Raidmax 600W 80+ bronze PSU before this and it powered this same exact rig. For reason i'd rather not get in to I have a slightly upgraded rig now with a different mobo, and case. But the Raidmax 600W did an absolutely stellar job of being stable and reliable, so i'd expect at least this out of a PSU that costs nearly 40$ more. Cannot WAIT to see how good it looks in my NZXT phantom.

1 out of 5 eggsBummer

Pros: Attractive.

Cons: Poor quality. Popped and died. Filled my room with smoke.

Other Thoughts: Replaced it with my cheap spare cooler master and found out my my mobo and cpu went with the cat. i'll never buy another one of this brand made by compucase.

3 out of 5 eggsMine wouldn't support more than 2x hard drives

Pros: Feels nice and heavy, which is usually a good sign. Their support is quick and knowledgeable. I most likely just had a lemon, but I'll never know...worth 3 eggs for what seems like good build parts and great support, but please read my reasons for returning below and decide for yourself!

Cons: Would NOT power my unRAID build I had setup. It would power the hard drives all just fine if I used my CoolMax PSU Tester to turn on the unit, but otherwise connected to the mobo I could only get 2 hard drives before it wouldn't boot right. I had bought this over a Thermaltake mostly because of the rebate and a sale they had, so when I found this unit could not provide the power (guessing as just defective) I returned it to Newegg for a refund and later bought a Corsair which has been great.

Other Thoughts: This may be a good brand, but my first and last taste of their products didn't leave me happy. I'd be willing to try another unit someday, but for now Corsair has stolen my heart (2x 650W like below and a HX1050 now)

unRAID build:

Case: LIAN LI PC-Q08B Black Aluminum Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case
Power Supply: Corsair CMPSU-650TX 650W 80 PLUS Power Supply
Hard Drives: 4x 750Gb Seagate 7200.11 and a 500Gb Seagate 7200.11 (what I had laying around)
Motherboard: ZOTAC H55ITX-A-E LGA 1156 Intel H55 HDMI Mini ITX Intel Motherboard
CPU: Intel Core i3-540 Clarkdale 3.06GHz LGA 1156 73W Processor BX80616I3540
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 Model F3-10666CL8D-4GBRM
USB Key (for unRAID): Patriot Xporter XT Boost 8GB Flash Drive Model PEF8GUSB

4 out of 5 eggsGood value

Pros: Modular cabling. Nice look. Stable for overclocking and overvolting. Very quiet.

Cons: Cables a bit stiff, but not problematic really.
Not best for underclocking and undervolting. This surprised me, but PSU's in the 700W+ range are generally not made with undervolting in mind.

Other Thoughts: Overall good unit considering the price range it is in. It compares favorably to other PSU's at its price.

MSI 790FX-GD70
AMD Phenom II x4 955BE

5 out of 5 eggsNicest looking packaging ever.

Pros: The box and its contents were one of the nicest things to look at. I got it for almost half price from the shell shocker deal. I don't know much about PSUs but this had really nice cable wrapping, easy to plugin all the cables to the components. A good variety of cables that have different plugs at the end along it so you can plug in your video card and another component along the way. Easy to install.

Cons: None that I know of, or am noticing.

Other Thoughts: It works, it looks nice.

5 out of 5 eggsLooks awesome!

Pros: Works flawlessly! I have not had a single problem on my newest build. I'm currently running a Core i5-2500K, PNY GTX 460 OC, an ASUS P8Z68-V, and 8GB of RAM. This power supply has no trouble for this system and will work great when I SLI in the future.

The packaging is quite impressive I must say!

Overall, this PSU looks quite stunning to say the least. I feel like they wanted a Lamborghini kinda look to it lol.

I like the PSU being modular because you don't have to have every single cable installed if you don't want them.

The fan is absolutely silent!

Cons: None.
