2 out of 5 eggsI got one of the bad ones

Pros: Was a good deal when on sale. Cables are modular. Fan spins according to temp. Thought it was everything I wanted.

Cons: There is a batch of these with a design flaw, so I was told by an employee of the company. The problem is some of these blades hit the grate under the fan, at high speeds, when you have it installed upside down (like for a case with PSU slot at the bottom).

Of course, I discovered this after neweggs 30 day warranty, and Cougar requires nearly 2 weeks to replace the PSU. So you have to send it in first and wait.

Unacceptable for me as my computer needs to be online pretty much 24/7 for business.

Other Thoughts: Cool features mean nothing if the product is ridiculously loud, and has a faulty design.

I wouldn't play Russian Roulette with my PSU. Keep looking.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Deal

Pros: It's a 1000W Power Supply

Cons: If anything, the cables that are already connected are long and can get in the way, but if you need to get somewhere far away... that length is a pro.

Other Thoughts: Great power supply, caught it on sale and works perfect for my build

3 out of 5 eggsNice power supply

Pros: cheap price, 1000 watts - totally modular. The cables are also pretty long enough.

Cons: The first one died within 2 months. I also noticed a loose screw when I received the power supply. I was able to shake the power supply so that the lose screw was resting against the input vents. I tested the power supply with 2 different power supply testers and it passed, so I decided to use it rather than pay for the return shipping (and not having a computer to use)

I called the manufacturer and they replaced it in a timely manner (about 4 weeks including shipping time). The new one has been working for the last 2 months without incident.

Other Thoughts: Its a nice power supply but mine died in the first 2 month. Luckily, I had another power supply, a corsair budget 750 watts, that I keep around. Personally, I wouldn't buy this one again. The first one had a screw loose inside. This should have been caught by their quality control and wasn't. RMA'ing this cost me 25 dollars. The second one works fine but when you can get a seasonic x850 for around the same price, why bother with the cougar.

Having said that, I just bought the seasonic x850 for around the same price. Buying the seasonic does not mean that I will not get a bad power supply, it can happen to anyone. But the seasonic x850 is a better power supply. Even though it is rated for 850 watts, it can easily handle 1000 watts. The point is, for a few dollars more, you can purchase a seasonic x850 or the Corsair AX-850 which are better power supplies than this cougar.

5 out of 5 eggs Quality Performance, Quality Looks

Pros: Looks amazing and has very high build quality. The modular interface works great and after almost a year of use it is still providing great clean power well within spec

Cons: I only wish that the cable sleeving didn't terminate about half an inch from the connectors themselves, leaving some unsightly cabling for a perfectionist like me.

Other Thoughts: Buy it; it's well worth the money and Cougar has always been a great company for me.

5 out of 5 eggsLooks Sexy as hell and Comes with all you need with room to BILD!

Pros: its a very sturdy PSU With more connectors then I know what to do with! I'm running aftermarket cooling, multiple optical drives, several HDDs and SSDs and dull graphics. cards and this puppy still has power to spar!

Cons: none so far will update if any arise...

Other Thoughts: I admit it folks I got this PSU because it looked sleek, solid, and of course sexy as hell! and all I have to say is it did not disappoint!

1 out of 5 eggsDead out of Box

Pros: Looks nice and gives the appearance of some quality.
Is solidly built.

Cons: Is junk, dead out of the box, a box I had shelved too long to return it now. Manufacturer's warranty is a joke, "Take back to where you bought it and leave us alone."

Other Thoughts: Completely dead, no way it should have left the factory, making me question the capability of Cougar's quality assurance.

A great way to throw away $150 should your luck fail.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid high watt modular PSU

Pros: Absolutely no issues with this PSU. I've owned two of these at this point and love them. The provided modular cables go from 4 SATA to 3 SATA 1 4Pin down to 4 4Pins. It's nice hopefully only using exactly what you need.

Cons: For large cases, sometimes the periph cables are a little short. Like in my old HAF X 942

4 out of 5 eggsFuture-Proof

Pros: I bought this during a sale on here, and I got it for somewhere around $80. It doesn't use too much power from an outlet, and it will run anything that I will throw at it.

Cons: A bit big. Had to hack and slash my case a bit to get this in, but eventually I got it settled in.
