Worked for 3 days
This review is from: COUGAR DX500 500W ATX 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply
Pros: Pretty much no sound at all when the computer was on, good amount of cable length as well. Arrived in 2 days even though the shipment length said 3 days, which is awesome. RMA # request was quick and painless.
Cons: Installed the PSU that night it had come in, worked great for 3 days, put my computer into sleep mode, went to bring it back up and the display wouldn't start, so I hit the reset switch on my tower, the computer shut off, booted back up, ran for 3 seconds, then shut down again, started back up by itself, ran for another 3 seconds, and shut off again. After it did that a couple more times I hit the power switch before it had a chance to turn off. Unplugged the power cord and checked the connections on the motherboard, all were fine, even unplugged the reset switch, and then the computer wouldn't even turn on. Plugged the reset switch back in the same spot and the computer didn't turn on again. I found a 125v PSU cord (same as the one that came with this PSU) and it still didn't turn on, which helped me narrow it down to this PSU.
Other Thoughts: I am giving this PSU another chance by requesting a replacement, seeings I seem to have purchased a defective model.
