5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works like it should, haven't made any coasters yet.

Cons: burns at half advertised speed, which is fast enough.

Other Thoughts: Why do these manufacturers always over estimate their products potential? You can't burn on these discs at more that half rated speed, otherwise you make coasters.

1 out of 5 eggsThe Worst DVD MEdia I Ever Used

Pros: Use as targets at the range, or make them into mobiles to put on the back porch. 100% failure rate.

Cons: I have burned literally hundreds of DVD's using my Acer Veriton M498G.
So far with this package of media I have not been able to burn a single disk without generating so many errors that Nero stopped recording them.

Other Thoughts: An absolute waste of $27.00, you might as well put the cash in the shredder.

1 out of 5 eggsYou get what you pay for!!!

Pros: Got these on sale for $16. You get 50 in a pack.

Cons: Burnt 2 data dvd's (no obvious write errors). Data was corrupt on both when tried to run the setup.exe! Copied the same data to a USB drive and ran setup without issue!

Should have spent a little more and bought a better quality brand name. Guess that's why they were on sale!

Other Thoughts: Maybe might be good for video or music, but I'm not going to trust these!

1 out of 5 eggsSo far, so bad

Pros: Good price point for these

Cons: Price doesn't help if they won't burn

Other Thoughts: I've been using these DVDs with an external Samsung SE-208DB/TSBS USB drive and have yet to get one that validates after burn. I've burned at 3X and 4X (these are the only two speeds that Nero will detect for these discs in my drive). I don't mind a slower burn time (in fact, I prefer it for archival type data in order to ensure maximum compatibility), but when every disc so far (five out of five) gets verification errors after a "successful" burn, it gets frustrating to wait for over an hour to figure this out.

One of the DVDs even had a noticeable ring in the burned dye layer about 1/2" from the inside that was a different color than the rest of the (completely filled) DVD. It wasn't that way when I put the disc in, so it's some sort of artifact of the burn process.

If I can ever get any successful burns, I will update my review, but until then, I'd stay away. Even though there are essentially only a handful of plants that actually make DVDs and just rebrand them, I've never had this much trouble in the past with other bigger brands (Philips, Panasonic, TDK, etc).

5 out of 5 eggsThey do fine at 2x

Pros: I don't use discs much anymore, but my friends still do, so I always keep a few CDs and DVDs handy just in case. These do just fine for burning a video or making a big music disc to play in a DVD player. The label's pretty unobtrusive and easy to write over, and the lid is great for catching spiders or moths in when they get in the house.

Cons: You're best off burning at 2x despite the speed rating, just because non-computer devices always have trouble with hastily written data, especially on cheap media.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Impressed at all

Pros: When they actually work, they seem to work OK

Cons: I have been burning DVDs and CDs for many years using a variety of systems and burners. I had read the cautionary reviews of these DL DVDs (Optical Quantum) but I thought that I would give them a fair chance.. After all the price was good right? When I first opened the spndle, I noticed a very strong chemical odor.. Even after leaving them open to "air out" they still have a stench. Anyway, the first couple of discs worked OK but then I started getting coasters. They seem to fail at the layer break for some reason. I know that it is the media because I have burned many disc on the same hardware (2 different PCs) without any prior issues. after the last OQ disc failed I stuck in another brand of disc and it burned without any problems.

I am not sure what OQ is doing wrong, but I have never had this many consecutive failures.. nor have I ever opened a spindle of DVDs and smelled such a strong and offensive odor. Maybe there is a connection.

Other Thoughts: IMHO: Newegg should stop selling these DVDs until the manufacturer gets their act together and fixes their quality control issues... Are you listening Newegg? It is a disservice to sell known defective products to your customers and from the reviews I have read, there are a lot of customers having problems with this product.

4 out of 5 eggsFollow up on previous review

Pros: Now that I put a new Burner in my tower everything is working as it should no more coasters.
To be fair I may not be so sure of the age of my last burner but I don't think it was very old.
I just thought to be fair I would wright another review to update.

Cons: Still I would have to say that the disks are a little finicky but if that work in your drive they will be a great deal.

1 out of 5 eggsNot A good Deal anymore.

Pros: I've thrown away 8 disks now with i/o error at 4X speed.
I have never had problem with any other disk's ive used like this. Now I have to try on mu other computer and passably buy another burner. Where is the savings in that?

Cons: Same as above.

Other Thoughts: I read the reviews and figured it will work for me since my DVD burner is 4 months old and not a cheap drive.
Guess I was wrong.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent product

Pros: - Burned at 8x without issue.
- Burned at lower speeds (initially) without issue as well.

Cons: This con is in relation to my equipment, not the product.
I burned about 20% coasters until I moved to my iMac, and additional Windows machines that weren't doing anything else no coasters.

Other Thoughts: I purchased these to create a DVD gift-set for a local High School basketball team (6 disks per set, 20 sets, total of 120 discs).
After I moved to better burning equipment, ZERO coasters.
I started at a lower burn speed (3) because of my faulty Pawtec BR/DVD drive. I will not be purchasing Pawtec again.
Then I moved to the 8x burn, and did that without any problem.
Burn utility: IMG Burn, latest version
Note:
- I also tried burning on my laptop while doing other things ... burn succeeded, however, the verify failed.
- I consider this user error (I was testing the limits).

Conclusion:
- I will purchase again next year!
- Use better burning equipment that isn't doing other functions.

1 out of 5 eggs56% fail rate not good

Pros: the first 22 burned without a single issue

Cons: the last 28 would not be recognized by 4 different burners not even the new burned that burned the first 22 when your software gives you the no disk in drive error its not the drive its the media horrible fail rate even for cheep product

Other Thoughts: produced in large quantities and only batch tested this kind if thing can happen i have been burning disks since the first 1x speed CDR i bought in the 90's for over 200 bucks and truly this has happened before even with the more expensive brands however because the fail rate is over 12% i will not recommend this product
