5 out of 5 eggsBlank Discs

Pros: Blank 25GB Discs, won't be limited to 8.4 GB anymore

Cons: You need a blue-ray writer to use these, obviously

Other Thoughts: ~3x the space of DL-DVDs

1 out of 5 eggs3 Out of 10 Ain't Good

Pros: Price

Cons: I was only able to successfully burn 3 discs out of 10. The rest are coasters. While I guess it could be a burner problem (LG WH12LS39), it has had no problems whatsoever with CDs or DVDs, either burning them or with Light Scribe. I haven't made this many coasters since I got my first CD burner in 2000. At this time I am blaming my problems on the quality of the media.

Other Thoughts: Will not be trying this brand of media again, at any price. While any number of factors could be involved, blank blu-rays are far too pricy for me to take any more chances with a no-name brand.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks at 12x

Pros: Ive purchased quite a few of these from Newegg and the batches keep changing . This last batch was LGEBRA S06 (made by LG) . The LGEBRA batch will do 12x in my LG WH12LS30 Blu burner , so far with no problems and no errors . Plays just fine in my Panasonic BD-85 and brothers PS3.

Cons: No longer available?

Other Thoughts: Really wish the "batch type" would be alot more consistent from Vin-Power (Optical Quantum) .

This lastest batch of LGEBRA disc's seem to be among the best quality and dye color from previous versions .

5 out of 5 eggsMy First BD-R Discs

Pros: Decent price. No coasters.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I bought these as my first foray into Blu-Ray burning and I have been very pleased with the results. All 10 discs burned correctly and without incident.

1 out of 5 eggsWhat Happened?

Pros: None at this point.

Cons: Every disc a coaster.

Other Thoughts: I have been using these since Newegg started to carry them with no problems. Now, every single disc is bad. Every one. Two different systems, two different burners, three different burning software suites, not one good burn. Very disappointing after burning a few hundred successfully previously. Back to the more expensive Verbatims!

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy unless you need coasters

Pros: None

Cons: These disks were first used during a fomat. Half the time the format would not complete. When they were formatted they were used to backup my hard disk. I wasted 30 overall disks attempting the backup. They are all in the trash now. I bought Sony BD-R disks afterwards to do the backup. They were great. My BD-RE drive is a new LG WH12LS39.

Other Thoughts: None

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great a 10x burns

Pros: I usually get the Optical Quantum 4X disc's (Philips R04) and have had excellant results (100+ burns) , but decided to try the 6x disc's after reading good rewiews elswhere . I use a LG WH12LS30 and get up to 10x burns with the 6x discs which turned out to be CMCMAG BA5 vs the past used 4x Phillips R04'S . Burned a few Bluray movies with the 6x disc's set at AWS "auto" for speed in Image Burn . When running AWS in Image Burn the disc will start out at 5.5x speed but quickly ramp up to 10x (at around 40-50% of the burn process) ; with the end result being about 11 minutes for a full 25gb (23.5)disc burn with no errors (disc verified after burn).

Just to clearify further , I use BD Rebuilder/AnyDVD-HD/Image Burn to back up my movies .

All in all from my experiance , I find the Optical Quantum OQBDR06LT 6x disc's to be a great successor to the previous 4x disc's .

Cons: none
