3 out of 5 eggsWorked OK - CMC MAG Media

Pros: All three that I burned came out OK.

Cons: Media identifies as CMC MAG. I'm no expert but a quick search turns up general disrespect of this manufacturer.

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for.

5 out of 5 eggsslow and stead does the job

Pros: I bought these for a non-magnetic backup for all my important files including music and pictures, I have over 4,000 titles and I would hate to have to re-download them all from Ama$$n or reload from CD it much easier if have all in single place and at 50G that allows me to backup everything. It took about 2 hours at 4x because the burner limits but that was 44GB of data about 10,000 files so it gets started and it has to start over before it ever gets to max speed of recording

Cons: the cost is only issue I have with these but for reliable backup that is non-macnetic it is the best option out there for the money

Other Thoughts: don't rush burning and don't over tax your system and you will always have a sucseful burn even on cheap media to the best media all burns that have failed me I can point to the cause and I have never been able to blame the disc and I have burned several thousand CDs DVD DVD-DL Blu-ray and Blu-ray DL and out of that I doubt I have a dozen failures to burn right

1 out of 5 eggsWay more trouble than they are worth

Pros: 6 out of 10 successfully burned
4 out of 10 didnt.

Cons: I blamed my drive, an LG IHBS112-04 which was "supposed" to be compatible with this media, patched to the latest software version. Not being quite 1 year old, I RMAed the unit (about $10 there in shipping fees). I got a new one back and the disks still would not burn.

Other Thoughts: It all comes back to: you get what you pay for. These are the cheapest 50GB blank medias so I tried to save a few bucks and got burned in the process. These things are way too expensive any way you look at it. My guess is that the MPAA wants to discourage the use of 50GB drives to prevent piracy.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Pleased

Pros: Made 5 burns so far and no coasters. Definitely a good deal

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: For anyone complaing about these being labeled at 6X...these things go for $4.00 per disk and the Verbatim single disk pack is $20. At that much of a price spread, I'm happy they burn at all. I'm peaking at 3.9 BTW.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Rock solid. Now granted I only burn at 4X generally, but so far every single one has been a successful burn, and I only have one left. Will continue purchasing these for the foreseeable future.

Cons: Price -- although 50GB discs are all pretty expensive right now, so this Con applies to all DL BDRs right now.

3 out of 5 eggsNot too terrible

Pros: They're cheap and fairly reliable.

Cons: They only burn at 2x on my burner(which is rated for 6x) and 1/10 was a bad disc.

Other Thoughts: Overall I'm fairly pleased with them. They're pretty much the cheapest I could find so I guess you get what you pay for in that regard. Still, 2x burn speed doesn't bother me too terribly and 1/10 being bad isn't the worst thing ever. They do work and they seem to be reliable. All the burns I've made have worked flawlessly in several systems(pc, ps3, bluray player). I rate them 3 not because they're bad but because they're just average. I would probably purchase them again all things being equal.

5 out of 5 eggsThey Work!

Pros: Semi-affordable price and they work reliably.

So far I've burned 6 of these without a coaster (Pioneer BRD 209 burner in a Mac Pro, using Image Burn in Windows XT running under VM Ware Fusion and Mac OS 10.6.8)

Just to be safe, I burn at 2x speed even though the disc and burner supposedly support faster. (At these prices, pushing for speed doean't seem worth the risk.)

Cons: None, though I hope the price will continue to come down with time.

Other Thoughts: Before these came along, I could never find DL blanks for less than $15 EACH, which precluded any kind of practical use. At $5 (less in the larger packs), a simple one-click back-up of unique or expensive BR content is a realistic option.

3 out of 5 eggsSo-So

Pros: Cheaper than the alternatives.

Cons: 20% coaster rate. Out of two 10-disc packs, 2 discs failed in each pack.
Burner is an ASUS BW-12D1S-U. Used ImgBurn on Windows 7 Ultimate, K3B on Linux.

Verbatim has 100% success rate with this burner; no coasters, but they are more expensive. Maybe that's because you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: Not bad, for the price, but not professional quality either. For consumer level quality they are quite decent.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Great way to free up some much needed hard drive space. Got a big folder that you keep "just in case"? Burned 45gb to 1 disk with memorex external bd writer and cyberlink oem. Full verification no probs 6x speed.

Cons: Not enough reviews online and virtually no compatibility listings. had to take a leap of faith glad it worked.

Other Thoughts: You have to make sure if you want to utilize these disks properly your burner supports bdr-dl
