5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid

Pros: Large Capacity, recommended by my burners manufacturer.

Cons: Marginally high in price

Other Thoughts: I have a PIONEER BD-RW BDR-208D running firmware 1.40. The manufacturer guranteed compatibility with this particular disc. So I've burned 7 discs to back some data to free up HDD space and have had great success each time. No coasters. They consistantly burn between 2-3x speed. Very Satisfied and will purchase again.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Media! ALWAYS UPDATE your Firmware!!

Pros: Optical Quantum media works just great & can usually be found on Sale if you are patient. As I have stated in a previous review, DO NOT burn media faster than what it is rated for - it doesn't matter that your burner/software will allow you burn at faster speeds ---- it isn't worth it if you end up with Coasters!! Don't be so impatient and burn at the rated speed of the media, I usually write BD-R media (SL & DL) at 4x using the FREE PROGRAM Imgburn to set the writing speed of the media.

Cons: I wish the price would be closer to $1/disc or less, but that hasn't happened yet. If you wait for coupon codes, you can usually find them for around $1.90/disc.

Other Thoughts: Update your Firmware! Update your Firmware! Download the FREE PROGRAM Imgburn and Update your Firmware!
....You want to know why you are having problems with this or other BD-R media? That is most likely why ALONG with burning FASTER than what the media is rated for - you are only asking for problems when you burn too fast - be patient!! When you have the latest/updated Firmware for your burner, it will make your burner MORE compatible with different brands of media & make your burns more stable with better quality results! I have been using BD-R media for over 2 years now and have rarely had coasters - it does happen occasionally, if you use blank media long enough, sooner or later you will get some bad stock. For the most part, coasters are due to user error, so do as I've recommended & save yourself some aggravation. I use a lot of Optical Quantum media with rarely a coaster. I have also used Memorex and other brands as well - but I usually use OQ because I find it on sale often and I rarely have problems. I use 3 different LG burners (the first being LS10W30 model) and they all work well with this and other media brands - I also have a Pioneer 209 burner as well - no problems. In case you are wondering, I use DVDFab & Imgburn to back up my Movies, that way the originals aren't damaged, especially when I lend them out! While DVDFab and other programs like it have their own burning engines, Imgburn integrates with DVDFab seamlessly and gives me a better, consistent quality burn that I can and do set the burn speed for a specific brand of media. I realize that this review is a bit long-winded, but I'm trying to offer some advice from my experience in backing up probably over 200 of my Blu-Ray movies.

1 out of 5 eggsBig dissappointment

Pros: Fast ship, but that's it.

Cons: Bad write address errors. More than half the disks were coasters. They would get anywhere from 52 - 81% on a burning process before the errors would pop up.

Other Thoughts: I have been using this brand media for the past couple of years. I've mainly purchased the 10 disc bundles, but have bought the 25 disc packs on occasion. There have been the occasional bad disc in a lot but I've never had this kind of failure rate.
Maybe I'll stick to the 10 disc bundles.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Discs

Pros: I burn these on my Asus burner at 4X with excellent results and no coasters. Will continue to buy when they are on sale.

Cons: Hope price will drop on DL blu-ray discs

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Media!

Pros: I have used this media before and have been very satisfied with the results! I have used Vinpower/Optical Quantum BD-R media for movie back-ups of my Movies for several years now and have rarely had any problems - I would definitely recommend them! Just be sure to update your burner's firmware to the latest version when available and don't burn them faster than recommended to get the best results from your media. Even though you may be able to burn faster, you may not have good results!

Cons: Not always on sale - I wish the price would come down On DL Blu-Ray media and stay that way.

Other Thoughts: In response to reviews that complain that these don't work well, be SURE TO UPDATE your firmware for your burner! That can really make a difference on the quality of your burns - to make that even easier, use the free program Imgburn as your burning can also set the burn speed for the media & also use the program to check for Firmware updates for your burner as well.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: These work great, all you need to do is make sure you have the right burner for the job.

I made one coaster and did some research, apparently it is the layer switch that causes most problems. (hits around 50% of the burn and then does the layer switch and fails, pauses, crashes)

Can't wait for another deal to come around for these as I am going to order some more.

I have used the 50GB and 25GB versions of these and for the price you cannot beat them.

I currently use a LG burner with up-to-date firmware.

Cons: Only con is to make sure you use the right hardware / firmware / software for the job. But that goes with anything like this.

4 out of 5 eggs50GB DL Discs... not bad!

Pros: The discs hold 50GB. The most what current BD players can read (other than PC drives). No coasters yet!

LG Black 14X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 5X DVD-RAM 12X BD-ROM 4MB Cache SATA BDXL Blu-ray Burner, Bare Drive, 3D Play Back (WH14NS40)

Cons: The 50GB discs feel slightly thinner than the Memorex 25GB BD-R discs. I prefer them over anything at this moment when it comes to BD-R 25 GB disc needs. These 50GB discs first kept giving me a calibration burn error when starting out the disc burning, but after looking up the issue online, I found that burning at 4x fixed the issue. The 2 discs that gave me a calibraiton error ended up not being coasters. I was still able to use them just fine. So to be on the safe side, you should use 4x write speed instead of 6x.

Other Thoughts: If the discs were to give me the ability to burn at 6x 100% of the time, I'd considder giving them 5 starts.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Can't beat the price!

Cons: May not be for everyone. I have a LG Burner that I bought from here and I coastered the first disk. (seems most problems are during the layer switch right around 50-60% of the burn).

I upgraded the Firmware and haven't looked back. So far have done 16 burns at 4x with no issues at all. I will buy more of these for sure! (btw the 25gb versions of these work great too)
