1 out of 5 eggs50%

Pros: They are dual layer. Artwork printed well

Cons: Coaster city. I normally use Phillips hub printables. I have burned 1000's of those and have almost 100% success. I have gone through cakes at a time with no fails. I wanted to try dual layers for some special projects. In the first 6 I have had 3 fails. Waste of time and money.

Other Thoughts: Not my equipment. I have a pretty nice custom built rig, by me, with Neweggs help of course. I had no problem before or after these with the Phillips discs.

3 out of 5 eggsDubious Quality

Pros: Good price, quick delivery.

Cons: I have used these discs to burn iso images using k3b. Only about 50% success rate and I feel that is due in part to the discs.

3 out of 5 eggsFine if you're not in a hurry

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: less than 100% reliable. Not for use with inexpensive/finicky burners

Other Thoughts: Like many others the price drove me to give these discs a shot. I use them for product delivery in a small video production business, hence the need for dual layer printable discs. We'll see how these work out in the long term for product delivery.

I have four identical LG DVD burners and two Pioneer blueray burners in a machine running Nero Burning ROM 2014.

Three of the four LG burners seem to have no problem burning these discs at 4x. One won't burn anything on these discs at any speed.

I'm pretty sure I could put a rock in the Pioneer burners and pull out a readable disc, not that I plan on trying that. Both Pioneer burners work fine with these discs, but only at 4x.

The limitted playback experience I have with these has gone fine so far. Again, we'll see how this goes as I begin distributing them to clients. (yikes)

The verdict isn't completely in. If I don't get any complaints from clients I'll buy them again, but for quick turn products I'll be using something else.

If speed and reliability are required for dual layer discs verbatim still can't be beat.

2 out of 5 eggsWorst Optical Quantum discs I've ever used

Pros: When they burn, they burn nice

Cons: I've been using Optical Quantum discs for years. Out of about 500 BD discs I have had just 2 failures. Out of the other model of these double layer DVD discs I had no failures. This pack of Printable hub discs has been a surprise on how bad they are. I have used 41 of 50, so far, and 6 have failed. That isn't very good in my book.

Other Thoughts: I've had good success with most Optical Quantum discs, BD and BD-RE and other versions of Double Layer DVDs. But these were bad and I will stick with the models that work.

1 out of 5 eggsUseless!

Pros: None

Cons: I tried the first three discs, one from the middle, and one from the top third of the stack and have yet to have a successful burn. I haven't had any problems with other brands in the past and have tried these on two different PC's. Not worth returning so I guess they will make excellent drink coasters.

3 out of 5 eggsimproved

Pros: those are much better than the OQDPRDL08LT used to be(not sure what the quality of that is currently),
these are good enough for 360 backups,
and for everything else i guess,
if you have a burner that can produce acceptable quality burns

Cons: ihas type drives produce pretty poor quality burns with these, the problem is mostly around the layer break, anywhere from 6-30 pi failures, and high pi error rate, up to 600,
but the discs are mostly usable,

Other Thoughts: good burner for these is sony optiarc 5280s,
results are good with this burner, much lower pi errors and lower pi failures than on ihas drives...

don't think these are anywhere near verbatims quality,
they will likely burn horribly in most burners

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: - Price
- Reliable
- Printable

Cons: - At The Moment, None!

Other Thoughts: I've tried other more expensive DL media and many fail, produce an undesirable amount of coasters, plus cost could be a LOT more. I suppose I'm lucky I tried these out and have been happy ever since.

Pioneer BD/DVD burner, latest firmware, using latest version of ImgBurn, and I can't recall the last coaster or when any of my bd/dvd stand alone players had issues reading this brand.

5 out of 5 eggsSeem Good

Pros: Used about 10 of these so far for xbox backup and they burn very clean and I've had zero issues. Ive done xgd2 and 3 and nero reports the quality as 95 for both using an has burner. Disc id is UMEDISC-DL1-64, verbatim actually uses them in some of their products.

Cons: None, Just hope they last

Other Thoughts: Got these for $17 with free shipping so i thought id try them out. ended up buying a second set before the promo ended.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Media at a good price

Pros: The media type code for these discs is UMEDISC-DL1-64, which is the same media type code that has shown up on the Internet as being sold as a Verbatim brand disc, just not part of their AZO product. The discs will only write at 2.4X or 4X in my HP DVD-RAM GH82N drive, but actually wrote at an AVERAGE of 8.1X on my ASUS DRW 24B1ST drive! I have used different brands of dual layer media that were listed as being 8X capable in the past, but never had one actually attain 8X. In fact I always wrote at 6X speed just to reduce verification errors, yet those discs often failed at a 30% to 50% rate. I've only burnt 3 of these discs so far, but each has verified perfectly.

Cons: The only complaint that I have about media from Newegg is that Newegg does not know how to properly pack multiple spindles to protect them during shipping. This order was a replacement for a damaged shipment, and while all three spindles came through undamaged, half of the air pillow wrap was popped. If Newegg learns to put cardboard dividers between spindles like everybody else in the industry does, then they will be the best place to buy media on the web.
