4 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

This review is from: Tek Republic TUH-300 USB 3.0 4-Port Hub

Pros: Works flawlessly. You don't notice a difference between plugging something into this and plugging it directly into the computer.

Cons: was a little glitchy for the first week

1 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Tek Republic TUH-300 USB 3.0 4-Port Hub

Pros: Cheap.

Cons: One of the ports doesn't work. I've plugged several devices into it and it doesn't operate any of them- printer, two different wireless mice, and a scanner.

Other Thoughts: I'm asking for replacement and hope it works.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well with Multiple Systems

This review is from: Tek Republic TUH-300 USB 3.0 4-Port Hub

Pros: Works well with Intel, Asmedia and Reneses chipsets. Maintains speed of the bus of the machine connected to. Both Asmedia and Renesas are slower than Intel UDB 3.0 bus, so just be aware. It is NOT the hub that slows it down.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I was mainly purchasing this to work on my Dell Venue Pro 11 Tablet. I can have up to four things attached to this hub and the tablet still detects and works with all of them. Very impressed!! A worthwhile investment

1 out of 5 eggsDreadful Quality

This review is from: Tek Republic TUH-300 USB 3.0 4-Port Hub

Pros: None that I can think of.

Cons: Just stopped working......For a 3.0 version, it should have been labelled 0.0. Forced to go back to using my 2.0 Hubs with perfect results. Total waste of my hard earned cash. Buyer beware.

5 out of 5 eggsUSB 3.0 unpowered 4-port hub

This review is from: Tek Republic TUH-300 USB 3.0 4-Port Hub

Pros: They work. I have two of these now, which see duty on about ten computers regularly. I plug them into USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports without care. Transfer speeds max out the theoretical and practical USB conditions every time.

No problems with wireless dongles and card readers and other USB devices. All work as expected under WinXP, linux and Win7.

One of these I've had for over a year, the other since December when they were available on Shell Shockers for ~$10. Amazing deal anywhere near that price.

Cons: Rarely, some devices (such as multiple USB flash drives of differing specifications & ages) will conflict and I have to move one of them to another USB port not on these hubs. Once or twice the hub has become non-responsive, so unplug it, remove all devices, plug it back in and carefully add devices again. No problems and no eggs off ... I think that was a Windows problem at the operating system level rather than an issue with these hubs.

Other Thoughts: Remember, the optimum speeds are achieved when transferring data from a quality SSD internally to a system and another quality SSD in an external USB 3.0 enclosure over a USB 3.0 connection. These hubs do not slow down the data transfer at all. I usually have two devices minimum plugged into these and very rarely see any conflicts (SEE: Cons).

When transferring data from slower HDD in external enclosures or onto HDDs internally to systems, or data from USB 2.0 & 3.0 devices with less than state-of-the-art read/write speeds, you will see slower data transfers. As expected under those conditions.

Also, I take care of my gear, so I can't speak as to what happens to these when you abuse them. All of my stuff is well-protected at all times and never dropped crushed bent folded stapled or otherwise mutilated.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat self-powered hub, but depends the devices you're connecting

This review is from: Tek Republic TUH-300 USB 3.0 4-Port Hub

Pros: - Plug and play
- No external power needed
- the 4th end port is a nice plus

Cons: -Only con is if you are connecting many high draw USB 3.0 devices, it might not get detected, but this varies by what machine you are on (laptop/desktop, etc.)

4 out of 5 eggs4 Port USB3 Hub - All Work with USB 3

This review is from: Tek Republic TUH-300 USB 3.0 4-Port Hub

Pros: It is a USB3 hub. All 4 ports work with external hard drives and DVD players in USB3! First one I have found that does it.

Cons: Very small hub to USB port cable. Hard wired at the hub, no less. Fer Crissakes, extend it by another 6 inches.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

This review is from: Tek Republic TUH-300 USB 3.0 4-Port Hub

Pros: Perfect length to hang off the back of machine. All USB 3.0, and no 2.0's in there.
Don't need to put it in a slot (mine are all full.)

Cons: Could have made these sooner, and at this price (12 bucks on sale).

Other Thoughts: Why do all (affordable ones, that is) mobos come with only 2 3.0's and the rest 2.0? Seems like they are yanking our chains.
I have no idea how to test the speed, but having more 3.0 ports can't be a bad thing.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat!

This review is from: Tek Republic TUH-300 USB 3.0 4-Port Hub

Pros: Works perfectly, looks quite nice with glossy finish. Cable is nice and short (about 6 inches total).

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I use it as a docking station for my laptop. Have everything including an external 2556x1440 monitor hanging from it.
