1 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Tek Republic TUS-200 2 PC to 1 USB Sharing Switch box between two computers with 2 x 6 ft usb 2.0 A/B Cable

Pros: None

Cons: Came Dead On Arrival. Not worth sending it back. Just threw it in the trash. Don't waste your money!

Other Thoughts: The first disappointing thing I've ever bought from Newegg!

2 out of 5 eggsDead in Less Than Two Months

This review is from: Tek Republic TUS-200 2 PC to 1 USB Sharing Switch box between two computers with 2 x 6 ft usb 2.0 A/B Cable

Pros: It worked perfectly at first for a couple mouse/keyboard configurations, including a bluetooth set and a typical wired pair running through a USB hub and then to the switch (since the switch only has one input).

Cons: About a month and a half and one of the sides of the switch is dead. I guess I'll get something not quite so cheap this time.

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat USB sharing box!!!

This review is from: Tek Republic TUS-200 2 PC to 1 USB Sharing Switch box between two computers with 2 x 6 ft usb 2.0 A/B Cable

Pros: This usb switch was perfect for what I wanted. I have my gaming PC and a MAC Mini on the same desk that shares everything. I was getting tired of unplugging my usb extension back and forth between computers and possibly ruining the plugs, now I just have to switch the monitor input and push the button on this device to go back and forth. I have a USB hub with a jump drive and Logitech wireless key for my keyboard and mouse hooked up to the back and have never had any problems with switching, each computer recognizes the devices right away.

Cons: None at all

Other Thoughts: Much cheaper option than getting a full switch with monitor input.

4 out of 5 eggswork great...until they don't

This review is from: Tek Republic TUS-200 2 PC to 1 USB Sharing Switch box between two computers with 2 x 6 ft usb 2.0 A/B Cable

Pros: Simple, no software to install, work right out of the box. Solid buttons, relatively idiot proof.

Cons: Bought 8 of these in December, two just died. They start "reporting problems" in Windows 7 Enterprise, and show up as "unknown device".

Ordering 4 more, to keep two as backups. Hopefully it's not a trend.

Super light weight and will flop around. Plan to fix these in place with double-sided mounting tape of some kind.

Cables are pretty short, so if you're PCs are more than 3 ft away from your peripherals you'll need to get longer cables.

If you're looking for auto-switch, these aren't for you. I wouldn't trust auto-switch anyway.

Other Thoughts: Sure, they're cheap enough and work fine. Use them in an extremely busy office environment to share local printers and local scanners so I don't have to eat up all my desk space for duplicate equipment.

5 out of 5 eggsVery useful device

This review is from: Tek Republic TUS-200 2 PC to 1 USB Sharing Switch box between two computers with 2 x 6 ft usb 2.0 A/B Cable

Pros: That is a very good and economical solution for controlling two computers from one wireless keyboard / mouse set. I control two boxes working under Windows 7 and Ubuntu OS. The wireless adapter is inserted in the Tek USB port. Everything works flawless.

Cons: Not at all
