5 out of 5 eggsAwesome PSU!

Pros: Quiet, powerful, stylish, nylon braided wires, etc, etc... This PSU is full of win!

Cons: I haven't found ANY so far!

Other Thoughts: I don't know what other users are having problems with... I have owned this PSU for over 3 years and never once had a single issue. I've owned other BFG products before and never a single issue. There was ONE video card that died on me and they replaced it VERY quickly and for free.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA and *over* three month wait for NO replacement

Pros: BFG Tech customer service on the phone are courteous.

Cons: PSU arrived DOA. Tested with PSU tester and PSU was indeed DOA.
Submitted RMA at BFG Tech and waited for over THREE MONTHS -- no replacement.
Contacted customer support after waiting one month to ask when I could expect the shipment and they stated, "Turn around could be 10-30 days depending on stock ."
It's been over a month since that.
Checked RMA status at BFG Tech website and replacement still has not shipped.
Contacted tech support again via email and no reply.

Other Thoughts: I will never ever ever purchase or recommend BFG Tech products to anyone.
I will be on the lookout for what company BFG Tech becomes after they liquidate and will definitely NOT purchase from their new company created in hopes of ripping off more of us with a different name.

This is the worst service I have encountered in 15 years of building PCs.

This purchase was not made at Newegg.

1 out of 5 eggsOut of business

Pros: Not applicable

Cons: Hate to burst everyones' bubble, but I just received an email informing me that they - BFG - are liquidating their assets etc.
They are out-of-business!!

Other Thoughts: This is really bad news.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: Cheap, looks nice and all the cord have cord and are PLENTY long enough for any case. Very quite. Shiney chrome looking surface and it is active PFC. Runs my system great everything overclocked. I have Asus M3A79T Deluxe mobo; AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3.5 w/ V1 Black Widow CPU cooler; 2 3870 Toxic running in crossfire; DVD and CD drives both can be buring at the same time and the voltages are stable! Over all a great purchase for any one wanting a great PSU

Cons: NOT 80% certified, I think that it only puts out 750 constant and 800 under a load look at the pic, which that is what 80 plus means that it is at least 805 the performance that it claims.

Other Thoughts: Still a good buy

5 out of 5 eggsMine works

Pros: Powered-up, hope this one keeps working. Has a hefty feel to it.

Cons: This is the 3rd 800W unit, the first 2 were RMA'ed for failure, but they were the other type of BFG 800W PS with the fan on top.

Other Thoughts: Dual fans should prevent total failure. I have no problems with BFG customer service, I believe they try to honor their lifetime warranty.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice bang for the buck, looks cool in gloss black. Four +12v rails at 20 amps each is a lot of power for under $100.

Cons: Only lasted a couple years and gave out completely without any signs of problems. At 800 watts, it was overkill for my system so it should not have been working that hard. And yes, I have a LOT of air flow in my case, and I leave the side off.

Other Thoughts: I probably will go with an Antec or a PC Power and Cooling PSU next, as I have a little difficulty with my current Antec PSU's I have owned an equal amount of time and a gaming clan friend recommends the PC Power and Cooling supplies as a must have.

4 out of 5 eggsDoing it well

Pros: BFG made a great PSU. Survived an accidental attempt to cool my system with my monster energy drink? (last time I set my drinks on my Antec P180 case)
The PSU is silent I have yet to hear it above the other fans and that is in part to do with the fact that my case is meant to silent, and Antec did a good job with.

Cons: Cable management inside the Antec P180 can be a little difficult but with a ton of tiny zip ties the problem is solved! There is a bit of a problem connecting the 4 pin power connector to upper right corner of my MB however it was off by less then half an inch. I decided to stretch the cable a bit and made it work however it wraps tight over my 8800GTS, I recommend getting a power cord extender for part, which I am considering about buying because I do not like the fact it is so stretched out.

Other Thoughts: I am currently using it to power about 4 120mm fans, 4 SATA hard drives, 6400 AMD BE duel core, 8800 GTS, PCI card fan. No over clocking so can’t comment on that.

1 out of 5 eggswaiting for a third

Pros: The fan on the first PW I received did not work, but otherwise it powered-up a system. So obviously, this had to go back. Cost: $15. more for return shipping.

Cons: No problems with BFG customer service, I just asked for them to send me one that worked. That sort of happened, it was a used unit, and the second one died after 2 weeks of light usage. It died during a defrag operation! How is that possible? Would not restart, but a different spare PW got me back-up in 5 minutes. So I know it was the BFG power supply.

Other Thoughts: I sent the second one back UPS, cost $12. I didn't bother asking for a return PW that actually would work well. I knew all I was going to get was another refurb. aka someone else's returned PW. Next time, I will call the credit card company and try to get a refund from them. Please be advised that BFG is having some problems.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad but not excellent

Pros: 800w on quad rails and plenty of cables for all your needs so no need for the 1>2 port adapters.

Cons: Not modular, which sucks, and no 8pin PCIe connector. Other than that nuthin. Thats also why I gave it a 4/5 instead of 5/5

Other Thoughts: To they guy who had a problem with his 8800GT 512, the PSU must have just been dead. I have a Q6600 OC'ed to 3GHz, 2 SATAII HD in Raid 0, 5 80mm blue LED fans, 1 120mm blue LED fan, 4 LEDs in the from with a blue lit temp monitor and a HD2900Pro 1GB. It uses more power than your card and I have been able to OC it to 800MHz GPU/ 2200MHz memory and the PSU still works fine for it.

5 out of 5 eggswow.. newegg...

Pros: great output, very quite, and of course as what newegg does not mention is active pfc and only uses 2 fans which once again newegg is misinformed..along with the great quality on this psu the cables themselves are very long and are sleeved which is a very big plus in my book.

Cons: not modular, fan in front is rather small but does get the job done...

Other Thoughts: overall good buy.. and comes with a lifetime warranty, what more can you want?
