One of the best PSUs out there
- Pros: I suggest you read the Guru of 3D review by Hilbert Hagedoorn on this, as that's where I first heard about it; in mouth watering detail. "Probably this is one of the best power supplies we ever tested"
Heavy. 8pin. 86% efficiency. Quiet. Stable. Cables are long enough for my mid tower. This thing is perfect. Powers a single EVGA GeForce GTX 260 F.T.W. Edition fine, and I'm thinking about SLI.
- Cons: I plugged in my gtx260 on a single cord (6pin, 6+2pin connectors) and it ran fine for a while. Then after turning the machine off it wouldn't POST when I turned it back on. So I'd mess with the connections on the card, making sure they were snug and then try to power it on, and it'd work. After about the third time this happened, I decided to just use the two cords, with a single connector from each cord instead. I guess what was happening was the single cord would bend outward causing it to get loose after a while.
A great psu
- Pros: I recently upgraded to this psu from an OCZ modxstream 780, and I couldnt be more satisfied. The selling points for me were that this unit provides 36 amps on the pci-e +12v rails, two 8 pin pci-e connectors, and its super quiet. Noise was a big factor for me, and the 780 I replaced was louder than I wanted it to be. I have a couple of 120mm fans rated at 19.3 dBA, and in my system they make far more noise than this psu does under a load.
- Cons: Its not exactly cheap
- Other Thoughts: The pictures dont do this thing justice, as its mirror finish is beautiful.

best 800watt PSU
- Pros: Super quiet, definitely more quiet than Corsair 620HX.
- Cons: None.
Died in less than two weeks
- Pros: High number of peripheral and SATA connectors
- Cons: This power supply completely failed less than two weeks after it was installed. Everything was working fine and I came in this morning and the system was dead. After I replaced the power supply everything works fine.
Doesn't like P182
- Pros: Amazing price when I bought it. Lifetime warranty from a good brand. Very quiet...at first.
- Cons: Fan started making an obnoxious sound after a few minutes in my P182. I RMA'd from Newegg, got a 2nd unit, installed it....made the exact same noise! I'm thinking it has something to do with the flimsy fan cover combined with the down-facing orientation in the P182.
- Other Thoughts: Return period is over from newegg now...guess I"ll have to try to RMA from BFG now. I'm thinking I'll have to sell it though because it is NOT happy in this case. Any advice BFG?
