With all the processors, cards, fans, add-ons being added to systems today, it's getting harder to find the power you need without overheating! Your relief has arrived! Here's PC power, extreme cooling and reliability, with 910W of maximum power!

It features a powerful single 12V rail rated at 74A continuous. The ultra-quiet cooling design leaves the inlet wide open, so 90% less noise is generated per watt with an impressive 88% typical efficiency (80PLUS SILVER Certified). The active PFC (.99) neatly handles input sags and surges and eliminates the need for an 110V to 220V input switch. Automatic fan speed control minimizes noise without sacrificing proper cooling.

This power supply has a 24-pin main connector, a 4-pin 12V connector, an 8-pin 12V CPU connector, 7 peripheral connectors, 12 SATA connectors, a floppy connector, and four PCI-E connectors, two 6-pin to 8-pin PCI-E connectors. The Silencer 910 is NVIDIA SLI certified. This economical, ultra-quiet power supply is backed by a 7-Year warranty and support.

5 out of 5 eggsStill going since 4/12/11

Pros: Just a quick summary. Unit has been reliable for 3.5 years, and still going strong. This unit has a 7yr warranty from date of purchase.

Cons: Only con would be the long cables, but knew this when it was purchased.

Other Thoughts: Gave this to my son in February of 2012, when I went for the 950w model just to upgrade. That is still running, see my thoughts on that one.

5 out of 5 eggsBest power supply ever made

Pros: Everything. Some power supplies may do some specific things slightly better but no other power supply comes close to doing everything as well as this one. I've been running this supply across two SLI builds over two years. Currently attached to 5 7200RPM drives and a overclocked AMD 1100T on a completely full M4N98TD motherboard and never breaks a sweat.

One huge rail of clean, nearly limitless power. No wimpy multirail buffoonery here.

Cons: It's discontinued.

Capacitors don't last forever, which means I'll probably either have to fix this myself someday far into the future or replace it with some inferior unit.

Other Thoughts: There is plenty of test data available across various websites that can attest to the quality of this power supply, no one needs to take my word for it. I'm just here to give it one more belated 5 egg rating. Because it deserves it.

5 out of 5 eggs5th PCPnC

Pros: Dual CPU 8pins: the main reason I went for this PSU. I have 5 PCPnC power supplies and they are all excellent and this is no exception. Very stable output in all conditions. I would also tip my hat to OCZ for their support of these PSUs. In a fluke my fan cable come unplugged somehow on a 750W. OCZ had an RMA number for me in a day and had my PSU back to me in a week. The supply ran flawlessly without any cooling for who knows how long; a true testament.

Cons: This power-supply is longer than average. If you have length constraints you will want to look at a standard form factor PSU.

Other Thoughts: If you have the space go for a Silencer. They last forever and are some of the best regulated power sources available.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat reliability, bulky.

Pros: Voltage values are good and steady.

Cons: Wires are very big and bulky. I'm making sure to get a modular Power Supply next time.

4 out of 5 eggsExtremely stable

Pros: The 3/5 voltages are extremely stable and don't seem to vary at all. The power supply is actually not as loud as most people here claim(it certainly hasn't bothered me yet), albeit I only draw about 650w from it(This PSU can supply up to 1090W at peak and 910w continuous). The cables are sleeved which is very nice.

Comes with a ton of cables!

Overall very good non-modular power supply.

Cons: The 12 volt rail has some non-negligible ripple on it. In my testing it varies about 50mv, so it is still good and within ATX specifications but the corsair HX850 is rumored to be much better for ripple. The PSU comes with two blue plastic connector caps which is rather odd because the other connectors will be left unprotected if you're not using them.
The cables are kind of short compared to some other power supplies so you might have trouble if you have a full tower-EATX style case, however it is great for medium sized towers(which I happen to have).

Also, though it wasn't a con for me, the power supply comes with a lot of cables and you will need space somewhere in your case to put them since the PSU is not modular. For me it was fine because I had a ton of space above my dvd drive-which I used for this purpose.

Other Thoughts: I've had this only for about a week, so I can't comment on its reliability but it certainly seems stable and was worth the buy.

4 out of 5 eggsShould've went modular

Pros: Has a connector for everything. 910W continuous power with 1000W Max power. What else can I say, it's a great PSU

Cons: I really wish it was modular. Remember how I said it has a connector for everything, well I wasn't lying. Problem is, if you don't have a full size case absolutely filled with hardware, you'll never use half of them. While I do love the fact that it accounts for every power setup imaginable, I have to take an egg off because that makes for so much cluster on the wires.

1 out of 5 eggsSo what really is the warranty?

Pros: This is a great power supply

Cons: Its a shame there is so much confusion over warranty on this power supply, newegg has on main page for this item 7 yr warranty highlighted yet says 5 yr warranty in the overview, then says 7 yr in the details, then on the manufactures website it says 5 yrs in the warranties area of website but then says 7 years when you go to the item in the description, so what is it?

5 out of 5 eggsWarranty is 5 years on manufacture website

Pros: Manufactures website states this power supply warranty for this unit is 5 years, not 7

Cons: None
