5 out of 5 eggsSemi-Modular

Pros: Excellent Power Supply. Delivers the power indicated after testing this Bad-Lad on all outputs.
The PS is NOT totally modular only partly modular. Still the connections embedded are the ones you actually need so No Egg Deducted on that note.
Easy install with proper hardware and plenty of cables for connections. Could have used a dampener, but for the price who can complain about that?
Has the True Output and uses Japanese built caps and is rated for the Haswell CPU - Not a bad little PS that is truly quite also.

Cons: White- should have been black, but no worth an Egg off

Other Thoughts: Excellent for the Mid Level Build not a High End Gamer PS for High End Rocket performance parts.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat psu

Pros: This would be the 7th one of these I am ordered. They are great power supplies. I have some of their 750W from 6 years ago that are still going. It is modular which I great, it really makes a difference in cable management.

3 out of 5 eggsGood with some Caveats

Pros: Quiet fan.
Stable with an i3570K, 32G DDR3, and an older GTX 560 on a Z77 based board.
Lovely white casing with attractive graphics.
Modular cabling.
Looks good in a black Fractal R4.

Cons: Smells horrible when you remove it from the box.
Stinks for at least a week while burning in.
Nasty coil whine unless behind a voltage regulated power source.

Where I live in Northern California, the power from PG&E, especially in the evenings, tends to sag. This causes the voltage to drop to around 114v. I noticed when this happens the silencer emits a nasty high pitched chirping and whining noise when different levels of load are applied.

I almost considered returning it, but then I realized I had a UPS I could put it behind. After that the noise becomes much less noticeable and is only detectable when the room is very quiet.

I think PCPC, should test the PSU in dirty power environments, as this would actually reveal a few weaknesses in their design that would be incredibly annoying to anyone with decent hearing, and takes away from the "silencer" name.

Other Thoughts: Other than that, it appears to be a quality power supply and it's been stable on a new hackintosh build. The internals appear to be quite low profile, when I shine a flash light inside I can clearly see all the components. If it wasn't for the whine and the stink I would give it 4 stars.
I ordered a Tripplite ISOBAR Ultra to see if that makes any difference to the overall sound and power quality in my office.

5 out of 5 eggsPC Power + Cooling Mk III Series

Pros: Flawless operation for more than a year, Great looks, Modular

Cons: Can't even complain about the price because it cost less than many cheap quality power supplies.

Other Thoughts: Everyone probably knows that PC Power and Cooling makes great (probably the Best) power supplies. I am writing this review because one reviewer wrote that his power supply fried his HDD and I don't think it's fair to blame that on the power supply.

I highly suspect that he did - what I did once - plugged a 4 pin molex connector in backwards. And yes, it is possible to do it - and yes, it will smoke a perfectly good HDD in about 5 seconds - and no - the HDD will never work again - even after changing the HDD circuit board with a known good one. I burned up the HDD with another brand of power supply, BTW.

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong!

Pros: Modular is very convenient for cable management. Everything feels very well made and sturdy.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Picked 600W so I'd have headroom for OC'ing a GTX570. Haven't needed to OC the beast yet. Maybe when BF4 comes out we'll see how it fares!

1 out of 5 eggsUnreliable

Pros: Looks appealing, that's it

Cons: After receiving the package, I installed the PSU to my computer. Soon after smoke started to come up from my hard drive. Long story short, it fried my hard drive for whatever reason, and all the files within was lost

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Anonymous,

It is unlikely a defect or damage to the PSU caused the smoke you witnessed from your HDD. Regardless, we are happy to help diagnose and will even provide warranty assistance if applicable. Please contact us using the link below and we will help however we can.

Kind Regards,
PCPC/OCZ Support

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product!

Pros: I've owned this PSU for about 4 months. It has never failed on me. It is visually appealing and very reliable (made by Seasonic). It's very quiet- up to the point where it's hardly audible. Being modular is a huge plus for this PSU. I highly recommend it.

Cons: None so far!
