5 out of 5 eggsWorks perfectly

Pros: Just what I needed to create and store a System Image for my laptop that doesn't have an expansion bay for another drive. Either a HDD or SSD fits snuggly without rattling around. Fits in my pocket to transfer large files to any remote location.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I should get some more for storing and transferring files to other PCs that don't have a docking port like my CM Stryker case.

2 out of 5 eggsReal Cheap

Pros: Aluminum case will keep drive cool. It powers the hard drive, and the Y cable has enough separated length to fit into a laptop where usb slots are far apart

Cons: Really cheaply made. All that's in here is a aluminum case, and a circuit board. The drive literally floats around inside, and as u move it, you can hear it hitting a side of the case. There are no rubber or plastic parts to keep the drive steady. The two pieces of the case are joined with two screws ( a nice touch, even come with a nice little screwdriver), however the holes barely even line up.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Lightweight, Slim, aluminum body, runs cool.

Cons: Nothing important.

Other Thoughts: Ok so overall this is a great product. The aluminum body keeps the drive cool. Powers my seagate 7200rpm drive. The thin casing while efficient and light i doubt would provide a whole lot of protection in a bad impact. But then again if you hit it hard enough to damage it through the case the drive would probably not survive otherwise.

5 out of 5 eggsI love it.

Pros: I own a business that has a branch for PC repair/maintenance and I bought one of these for the sole purpose of a travel adapter. Don't even use the mounting sleeve - just carry the actual adapter and two-port USB cable. You can't kill this thing! It's been dropped, stepped on, sat on, temporarily abandoned for another SATA adapter ... the list goes on, and it still loves me. Buy one.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: Most 2.5" drives require that the cable be plugged into two USB ports to support power through the bus since there isn't an AC adapter (which is just fine).

4 out of 5 eggsWorks but accepts limited HDD size

Pros: Easy and quick assembly; up-an-running in 5 minutes. Seems to keep HDD cool enough - only warm to the touch after 1 hour.

Cons: Needs 2 USB ports. Some say one will do but others comment this might interfere with computer's USB functioning. Expensive ($22 + shipping) and flimsy; can be found on other websites for much less. Tiny screws but the screwdriver was magnetic, which helped a lot.
Really annoyed with lack of full specs on NewEgg's site; if you search hard enough you'll find this is only compatible with SATA HHDs up to 150 GB (I had ordered 320 GB - guess I was lucky since it fits and runs). But is this OK? Will it fail prematurely? Check out StarTech's web site before buying!

Other Thoughts: Check before you buy.
