5 out of 5 eggsDecent VGA Video Amplifier

Pros: This is a pretty solid VGA video amplifier. After taking it out of the box I first noticed the case feels very sturdy and the black finish looks really nice. The power adapter shoots to the side so it doesn't take up multiple power plugs, which was a definite plus for me. I've had the unit hooked up all weekend to eight displays, and so far it's been performing great. I purchased the unit to run trippy visualizations on the screens and everybody who has seen it has been quite impressed.

Cons: The video input on the device is a male plug which was somewhat disappointing because I usually have tons of extra normal VGA cables, but I don't usually have a male to female VGA. Luckily my local Best Buy had a VGA extender cable which did the trick. I did have to break off the screw nuts on the extender cable to make it work, so perhaps there is a better cable out there that I should have purchased. Regardless of that, my setup works just fine. If you're using this in a high foot traffic area or moving it around often make sure you find a male to female cable that can screw into your video amplifier.

Other Thoughts: I'm always impressed with Newegg shipping. I paid for the 3 day shipping and it came next day. I live quite close to their distribution center though, so that probably helps.

I am not very well versed on what the difference between a 250 or a 400mhz video amplifier is, but I can only assume the better number is better. This unit is rated at only 250...but the picture looks spectacular on every single screen. Perhaps the extra bandwidth is more important when running high resolutions like 1600x1200. I'm not doing that so I don't plan on worrying about it. ;)

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: You have the parts we need!

Cons: It was my first order and I was not happy with the service and the timing. We ordered an item on Monday and it took over 1 week to get it even when we paid for 2 day delivery! Nobody called us I didn't get an email but we had to call on that Wed to find out. We were told our address wasn't correct. Well if someone would've called or emailed us we might have rec. our product we ordered on time1 Also, it takes over 24 to 48 hours to update anything on their system! That is NUTS! It should be done immediatley!

Other Thoughts: Get people on the phone! Had to wait over 10 min. to speak to someone!
