1 out of 5 eggsWorked a while but it failed

Pros: Rugged look. Fairly compact form factor.

Cons: Unreliable. Failed after only few weeks

Other Thoughts: Worked for a while but it failed after only few weeks of use. There are better choices which are less expensive. I when into trouble shooting mode trying to find what was wrong with my devices while it was because of the defective hub.

Pros: good price

Cons: not realy a con, but i bouight it to expand usb on my raspberry pi, it will work but you have to sever the 5 volt lead on the usb cable connecting it to the pi or it gets feedback. i just put a strip of electrical tape on the terminal, i dont like cutting things.

1 out of 5 eggsConflict with motherboard power

Pros: Inexpensive, sturdy, other than killing system startup, seemed to work

Cons: System would not power up when USB Hub a/c adapter used. I wasted about two hours of my life tracking this down.
However, once system powered up, you could plug in USB hub a/c adapter and every thing was fine. Hub was obviously providing a power fault feeding back to the system via the usb cable. Not good. Never seen this one before. you know who would not return because 31 days from PURCHASE date, not RECIEVED date. 1 egg to you know who as well. Disappointed.

Also, No power light on unit to let you know external power is up.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works perfect for industrial lab use running all 4 USB connections.
No high power devices being used. Transfer speed is quick and speedy!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Previous comment by other person should have read the specs. They complain of 1.2amps, but the spc clearly says 1.0amp input. They are actually getting 0.2amp extra!

3 out of 5 eggsLimited power supply

Pros: Works fine as a 4 port USB hub for most situations, so 3 stars for that.

Cons: Power supply is limited to 1.2A. USB standard specifies up to 500mA per port, which it can't deliver on all 4 ports simultaneously.

Further, many USB accessories today require more than 500mA, e.g. USB 2.5" disks, or external CD/DVD drives. Most laptops today allow for up to 1A per port. This thing _cannot_ drive an external DVD drive.

Other Thoughts: My DVD drive came with 2 USB plugs, one for data and an extra for power. I solved my problem by using an USB brick charger that gave out 1A on one of the ports.
