4 out of 5 eggsDecent PSU

Pros: Is VERY cheap for a 680W PSU, and i even managed to get it on sale, havent really put it to the test yet, but im getting GTX 560 Ti soon so ill update this review and report how the PSU holds out.

Cons: Mediocre design and build quality, could have been a lot better, but I guess you get what you paid for.

Other Thoughts: A good temporary PSU until you can afford a better one.

1 out of 5 eggsJUNK!!!! stick with PREMIUM BRANDS!!

Pros: GREAT DEAL!!! nuttin else really besides xtra parts, used fan for a case fan now!!! got a few xtra connectors from spliced wires!!!

Cons: it states it has 2 - 12v rails that operate at 20A each.....I had one periphal rail plugged into a 7600GS AGP card, and the other ran off SATA Drives....i guess they must have the PCIe on it's separate rail or sumthin!!! (which wasnt in use) Developed constant restarts and BSODS, then NO BOOTS UPS!!! After a short period of 2months!!!! bought on 10/5/11 and now 12/17/11 it fried!!!

Other Thoughts: P4HT 3.0ghz/800FSB/1mb Prescott
2gb DDR400
7600GS 256mb AGP
100gb SATA2
Corsair 430w PSU REPLACEMENT NOW!!!!!!
Replaced this PSU with a Corsair 430w 28A Single Rail and PC is rock solid and has 80% Performance Badge Rating!!!! This PC simply plays my kids games, so its a bit overkill for most part, but wasnt expecting to have to pay for 2 PSU's, so I ended fiascal with solid performer...CORSAIR!!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Power Supply

Pros: Great power supply. Fixed under power issue I had after upgrading my quad core AMD to a 6 core and RAM upgrade. Does not smell like other reviews have stated. It does not make any undesirable sounds either. Great PSU.

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggsDANGEROUS

Pros: Hmmm, price? That's about it

Cons: Well, lets see, I've had this unit for about 2 months and this morning, I noticed my computer was off. Turns out the fan on this PS failed, caused an overheat condition and dang near burnt up the comp. Charring on the circuit board of the PS, capacitor floating around inside. AVOID THIS HUNK O' JUNK!

Other Thoughts: DO NOT BUY THIS POWER SUPPLY.

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of trash

Pros: It was cheap and worked for 7 months.
Didn't fry my computer when it died.

Cons: Eventually went out in all out glory. I could smell the ozone coming out of it.

Other Thoughts: Just get a corsair, please.

2 out of 5 eggsCheap and...cheap

Pros: I had it on a ShellShocker for 25$ free shipping, so this low price is the only reason I bought this psu : I needed a power supply to go in my low tech HTPC made of old pieces of hardware.
But it has a 120mm fan

Cons: 1- Not very discrete unit, it makes too much noise for the livingroom :/
2- Cables are not sleeved, it makes a mess quickly
3- Too few connectors
4- It generates a lot of heat due to it's really poor efficency

Other Thoughts: Don't be fooled by the advertised 680watts claim, this unit will caught fire way before it gets to there. It only has 20A+20A +12v rails so there's not much power in it.
Mine didn't made smoke when I started it but a horrible smell of chinese hardware. Fortunatly, it was gone after a few days.

2 out of 5 eggsNot good for long usage

Pros: It powered the computer.

Cons: Started making a smoke smell within the first day of installing it. Decided to wait a few days to see if it would clear up before contacting NewEgg about it. When the smell did not go away, I decided it was not safe & sent it back for a refund.

Other Thoughts: As the other people have said, it felt extremely lightweight & cheap.

Doesn't seem to be capable of use over a certain amount of hours without having problems. It would work fine for a few hours after starting up my computer (when it had time to cool down), but would start smelling of smoke if I went any longer.

5 out of 5 eggsAlmost a year and working like a champ!

Pros: Like most people, if it doesn't have the brand name that you usually buy from, you ignore it, like me. But, I took a chance and I am happy to report that it is still going strong. I cannot vouch for any other Sunbeam product, just this one, but I will consider buying another Sunbeam product from now on.

Cons: Could be a little quieter, but you will quickly get over it.

Other Thoughts: For the price and watts, it is worth giving it a chance.

5 out of 5 eggsLoved this on Shell Shocker!!!

Pros: 680 watts for $25!! I needed more power than I needed fancy because I have a custom 3 monitor setup where I power the monitors direct off the computers PSU. They're only about 50w each, I also have the 125w CPU, 100w of HDD 150 of video and a desire to have a lot of spare wattage.

It has functioned flawlessly since I installed it. It is really much quieter than I expected so that was a definite bonus.

4x SATA and 4x Molex! Getouttahere!! I used three molex for the monitors and can power the HDD's and CD off the SATA with no adapters anywhere!

Cons: If only it were modular, but good Lord, for the money I shouldn't even THINK of griping about that.

Other Thoughts: I love getting my shell shocker previews when I wake up. Sometimes I think I'm the tech nerd equivalent of Joe Dirt reading AutoTrader, but it's saved me 25% on my last computer build AND it keeps me in the loop about pricing so when I have to answer all of those "this will just take a second" questions from fam/friends (that never take a second) I can at least cut SOME of the time down :D
