Pros: looks nice. leds are cool. the sides and the structure are aluminum.

Cons: some things were confusing. the first drive i put in the case was jumpered master and everything worked fine. the second drive was jumpered slave, and then it stopped working right. the drive would mount but i couldnt copy more than about 64 mb of data before i got a source file error from windows. i jumpered the drive for master and it has worked fine since.

Other Thoughts: a bit more of a manual would be nice.

Pros: Well built. Two manual speed fans. Hi/Lo. Even the high speed fan is fairly quiet. The low speed fan is extremely quiet. What attracted me to this product is the huge fan. Don't ever buy an enclosure without a fan. Heat + time destroys hard drives. I never buy an enclosure without a fan. Many positives about this drive besides the obvious. There are two huge metal covers on the flat side of the drive. One contains the fan, the other contains a 100% perforated grill. The rest of the enclose is solid plastic. The fan side draws the cool air into the enclosure, the perforated grill disperses it with ease. Although I would have preferred the opposite in terms of air flow - they must have had their reasons. The power cord fits very snug and solid. It won't fall out. The power cord is part power block with the plug end being a regular plug. Good if you have a hard time with crowded outlets. There are LED lights on the fan - so that makes it a little flashy and attractive. Easy to assemble.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy cheep enclosures, especially without a fan.

Great when they are working

Pros: Both the USB and firewire connections are fast and reliable. The fan helps keep the 7200 RPM hard dirves cool.

Cons: I've owned three of these and so far 2 of the three died and had to be replaced. It seems that something inside them fails and makes the drives unreadable and corrupts the data. Good thing they have a warranty and they usually died in time to get them replaced with RMA by newegg. A 66.7% failure rate isn't that great.

Other Thoughts: If they were more reliable I'd buy a dozen of them.
