4 out of 5 eggsHiss... Hiss...

Pros: It charges batteries.

Cons: It makes a periodic hissing sound every one second or so while charging. The ambient noise in my room drowns it out unless I'm about one foot away from the charger. I called Canon support and asked if this was normal, and they said no. So, I RMA'd and got a new one. This one makes the same noise.

After some searching, I found an explanation having to do with the transformers inside, and that it was normal. However, everyone else I've talked to said it was not. So, I am not sure who is correct.

Hopefully this isn't a malfunction. As always, Newegg service was "eggcellent".

Other Thoughts: It fully charges 4 AAs in about 4 hours.
