5 out of 5 eggsGreat Enclosure

Pros: It works, plain and simple
It was cheap
Has a light

Cons: Gets warm, but that's to be expected

Other Thoughts: Had a few old laptop drives so I bought this and the Rosewill equivalent. They both worked as intended, but I have to say I prefer the Acomdata. It feels more solid and the matte material seems to attract less fingerprints/scratches. I feel much safer using it as my on-the-go drive and leaving this Rosewill at home for backup purposes.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Investment

Pros: I purchased this enclosure to copy my OS from a WD 750 gb scorpio blue drive to a WD 750 gb scorpio black drive. Performed flawlessly. I now use it with the blue drive to store my backups. Stays cool to the touch even when I accidently left it connected and running for 3 days. Computer recognizes it instantly every time I connect it. I love this enclosure. I will purchase more.

Cons: Didn't come with a carrying case.

Other Thoughts: I like the bright blue light and as for the little screws some people complain about we are working with a very small electronic enclosure here. Cmon, what did you expect lag bolts? Everything lines up perfectly.

Pros: Fits perfectly inside. Nice little unit that is easy to setup. The slick plastic and shiny ends make it look pretty cool too

Cons: No problems yet

Other Thoughts: Bought this for a quick need but cant be happier with it. Used on several drives and each one has worked perfectly

5 out of 5 eggsLike a GLOVE!

Pros: Like a GLOVE!
-It's a metal sleeve you slip the hard drive into, with end caps.
-It's very small- significantly smaller than ANYTHING else out there- it's just a little big bigger than the 2.5" HD!
-Nicely made
-Bright activity light
-no issues with 1TB samsung drive or my power hungry seagates on 1 USB plug

Cons: -Bright activity light. Maybe too much so.
-I don't think it will fit a 12.5mm height drive...?
-There is a little play initially, which is mitigated by the foam piece that pushes and holds the drive against the circut board as you screw the end on ( it's tight- it ain't going anywhere).
-end caps are not real metal!

Other Thoughts: -Heat transfer could be an issue for heavy usage and high temp drives- I folded up some tinfoil many times and taped it to the top of the HD. I think I will wrap the drive in it (after covering the circut board of the drive with cardstock) and make it a real tight surface connection. I don't think one would need it, but I prefer metal-on-metal. One of these days someone will make one of these that sandwiches the drive between two heatsinks, and protects the mini-USB plug when it's plugged in.

Overall, 9.3/10.
small improvements would get it a 9.8/10

I love it, nicer than anything else on here so far.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product!!

Pros: Great product design! Very small.... you really couldn't make it any smaller... it just fits a 2.5" drive and a tiny circuit board that was attached to the enclosure cover. Assembly was Fast! Two screws hold it together and the circuit board connector plugs right into the drive. Really an outstanding product. Housing feels like metal and I believe that it is. Comes with a USB cable and all connectors fit well. The enclosure also has a small indicator LED on the front that blinks to show activity and stays on solid to show it has power.

Cons: My only thought would be how does heat transfer from the drive to the outside?(maybe this is not necessary, I do not know) There appears to be no thermal path in the design to get heat out as far as I can tell. That said, I ran this drive for a good hour or so doing some formatting and I could not feel any warmth from the housing.... although I think there is a small air gap between the housing and drive so its kinda insulated a bit. Its possible that some parts of the drive may rest on the inside of the housing... not completely sure on that... I didn't take a lot of time to examine it.

Other Thoughts: Don't even listen to other reviewers complaining about tiny screws. I had no problem... literally it took seconds to assemble my drive into this enclosure. So easy! Yes, the screws are small.... but your basic watch-size screw driver set will do the job. If you try to use an over-sized screw driver... well what do you expect?

4 out of 5 eggsEasy to install, nice enclosure

Pros: Decent speeds. Installation went fine once I obtained a smaller Phillips screwdriver. Nice warranty.

So far so good.

Cons: No rubber feets or pads to keep it from sliding, but that's not really a con.

Other Thoughts: Purchased for my old ThinkPad drive after upgrading to a bigger, faster drive. I had more trouble because of the way Lenovo partitions and package their drives than from the enclosure itself.

I'm surprised to see this enclosure is deactivated at the moment.
