4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have had this item for 4 years and going strong. Its very quiet and discreet. Perfect for the office environment. Just tap the CTRL button twice and bam! It works beautifully.

Cons: Not able to switch audio

2 out of 5 eggsGreat, when it doesn't freak out

Pros: Has audio ability, is a kvm

Cons: Audio is extremely quiet when through kvm. The device randomly decides it can't tell which computer to view, and repeatedly switches between them, requiring everything to be unplugged, let it sit, then plug it back in after a few seconds. Extremely frustrating and annoying when it does this. The switch key is a ctrl key, which I didn't think would be a problem, but it turns out to be a major issue. If you are using copy/paste or any other ctrl+combinations, you have to be very careful or you're going to end up swithing when you don't want to. The scroll key would have been a far better choice, like most of the other kvm's out there. When you plug in the speakers, the volume levels all have to be turned drastically high, so then when you unplug things, you get your ears blasted if you happen to forget to turn the volume on the computer down first.

Other Thoughts: The only reason that I purchased this one was because it had the ability to switch the audio. I will be purchasing a new one and next time, won't worry about the audio this time.

4 out of 5 eggsjust slightly disappointed

Pros: Just using this as a USB and audio switch between two desktops, and for that it works great.

Cons: I know there are usual hotkeys to switch between I/Os but it would have been nice if Syba had a printout in the box that noted what it was exactly.

I am using a Logitech G15 keyboard with this, but can not use the functionality of the keyboard. The keyboard software says that it doesnt detect any devices. So, using this switch, I am unable to create and assign different profiles to the macro keys.
Might just buy another keyboard/mouse for the other computer, don't know yet.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed on 1st Day

Pros: Not sure I can honestly state there are any... the device failed after just several hours of installation and I'm not the only one to have the exact same problem as stated below.

Cons: Device worked just fine between a Windows laptop and desktop computer without incident for about five hours with one only one of the two computers turned on... then, as another reviewer stated, suddenly the monitor went black with a "No signal" error message... five seconds later, it came back on... then went off, etc. etc. The switch was automatically switching between computers with no keyboard input from me. Even after shutting off the computer that was running, the KVM switch continued switching back and forth as evidenced by the LED lights. The only way to reset the switch and stop this automatic switching behavior was to pull the two USB plugs that powered the switch. After the switch was reset and the computer rebooted, all was fine... until the exact same thing happened again.

Other Thoughts: I contacted SYBA technical support and they advised the switch was, indeed, defective and to return it. As another reviewer has had the same problem, it appears there is an inherent defect in this product.

1 out of 5 eggsCrapped out after 60 days

Pros: Cheap.

Cons: The KVM caused the monitor to loose input and blink on/off constantly. worked for about 2 months

Other Thoughts: I have to RMA with Syba because its over 60 days. I would not recommend this item.
